Olive Press

Where to eat?

The Olive Press

The Olive Press has always been one of those places where we keep saying "we must try there this year" then for one reason or another never seem to get round to doing so.

This year we did get round to it and are certainly glad that we did.

All of the food is freshly prepared and cooked on the day. For that reason and to avoid disappointment we suggest that if you do have your eye on something on he menu, say so when you book.

We were advised to book as it gets very busy, a sure sign of quality place to eat.

We started off with a Chicken Gyro and tzatziki served with fresh bread. We followed this with roast lamb and a mixed platter of meats both served with rosemary roast potatoes. The lamb was extremely tender and very tasty. The mixed platter was a good way of trying a number of dishes on the main menu and included roast lamb, roast chicken and a wonderful pork roll stuffed with apricots and herbs.

We remember the Olive Press when restoration first began soon after our first visit to San Stefanos in 1999 and again when it first opened for business a year or so later. Please ask to see the photo diary of the restoration.

We certainly have 5 years or so of "just not getting round to it" to make up for and The Olive Press will be one of the first places we visit next year!
