Paxos
Paxos is the smallest of the seven main islands in the Ionian Sea and lies to the west of the Greek mainland, some nine miles south of Corfu.
The coach picks you up in San Stefanos at 07:30, taking you through the picturesque towns of AG Georgios and Pagi on its way to Corfu harbour.
Departing south from Corfu you are treated to a unique view of the old town and the two Venetian Fortresses.
The boat takes you along the west coast of Paxos island, the coast line and unique white sandy beaches are very impressive. The cruise boat will actually stop and enter the blue caves of Paxos (Tues and Friday trips only) where the clear blue water and caves are amazing.
On departure from the caves you arrive at the small island of Antipaxos where the boat will stop and you will have the opportunity to swim in the crystal clear waters of "Paradise beach".
Finally you arrive at the up market harbour of Paxos where millionaire yachts moor up alongside the local fishing boats. The boat enters via a narrow channel that leads to the harbour and will moor up close to the centre of Gaios village where you can explore the narrow streets and enjoy lunch at one of the local tavernas.
You will find many tavernas, restaurants and cafe bars, its very busy in July-August but this just adds to the unique atmosphere that Gaios seems to enjoy.
A wonderful trip which will probably be the highlight of your holiday, this is a long day out but well worth making the effort and getting up early!
