Across the road from the Athens Bar you have that cafeteria thing. There is a pool. Then the apartments behind the pool.

The hopefully back end of August early September for 1/2weeks - funds permitting - will definitely look forward to a "get together" night - couldn't possibly beat last years though. we are staying at barras, we stayed there last year and enjoyed it , the pool was not crowded and we had a lovely holiday just "chilling" and walking it was one of the best holidays we have had just doing our own thing thats why we are going back there :) ;D

20th June here we come -(14 days) booked the Rose Garden apartments - really looking forward to it - looks a lovely pool and surrounding areas - heard that there is a short cut through the olive groves to the village - does anyone know if this is true?

we are flying out of liverpool 29/08/08 to 12/09/08 not impressed with the flight time going , the 1st time we flew out of liverpool to corfu it was 12.30 it is getting later and later every year . Any way as long as we arive in one piece i am not bothered last year was a scary experiance whith the plane "almost landing" then back up in the air i love flying but i thought i was about to meet my maker !! at least its not a night flight and we dont have the treck to manchester

HELEN...................... That was a long way from being the worst flight we have ever been on. We have had the emergency chutes, the flaming plane , the impromptu foam party and on and on. Does give you something to talk about though! It seems this year we will land in Liverpool just before you take off unless my employer lets me extend my holiday and Thomson play ball too.

We stayed at the Rose Garden last year and we tried the path through the Olive Groves, unfortunalty we had to turn back as the path was overgrown with thorn bushes etc. You will enjoy your stay at the Rose Gradens as the location of the apartments is very peaceful. :D

Holiday amendments on hold. My boss only works in term time. So that is 13 weeks off, 6 weeks annual hols, 9.5 bank/privliege days and what ever flexi she builds. We never see her. that is 21 weeks off of definite holidays.

Last year we were at the Barras appartments, spent alot of the time in Bar 38 with spiros, hilary and of course george. We also spent alot of time at thomas Bay and Athens infact anywhere, we love the place its so friendly.
i said i would never go back to the same place twice but the place has beaten me and weve been about five times now and i expect we will have many more happy holidays there

I can remember eatting most nights in a resturant run by a father and son, the Father looked a bit like Sadam I wonder if he is still around we had many happy evenings there.

I can rememeber that you walked along the road towards the harbour with the sea on your right just around a slight bend going towards the haurbour bit there was a small old house on the left and the resturant was just along a little further on the left with a very latge tiled terrace bit outside i think it had 2 levels as you stood and faced the place the bar and kitchen was to the left and seating inside to the right, I have been digging through my pics to see if i can find a good one :-)

We are staying at the Thomas Bay Hotel this time. We stayed at the Barras last year and Thomas Bay in 2006.
in 2005 we were at the Moras Apts via Noula. We stayed with Simone in 2004 in the leonadis Apts and have stayed in Various Apts all over the resort over the years.
We stayed in the Athena Hotel the first year it opened - great location.

Well am reporting back from the wonderful San Stef !!!
am sooooo depressed to be back home. :'(
Weather was good except one whole day that was wet n windy !!! but generally v good for the first week. They is a bit of building going on but not enough to ruin a holiday, couple of buildings going up just above havana on the beach front. Not everything was open being the first week but most was opening towards the end of our week. Was gutted cos wanted to go to Yannis and try this lamb you all talk about but he was opening til today.... but i had my fav meal again up at Romanza, which is the lamb with yogurt... i highly recommend it...and tell Leo i sent you !!!! :P
What can i say about Teresa, the family and the place are as gorgeous as ever and we were welcomed back like long lost friends which is lovely. (Leo will be a daddy in about 7 weeks )Also spent many a night with our friends Hilary and Spiro at Bar38, who are on form and ready for the summer.
If any one wants to know anything, just ask, as i could just go on wittering on for ever, so best you just ask anything you need to know. ???

P.s the mexican is still as it was last year.....a building crying out for me to take over !!!!
Also there is a new place being done out now next door to bar38, they did a lot to it in the week we were there, sure it will be open in a few weeks.
Our favourite line for the hols was.... "they've had all winter to get that ready !!!!"

Hi Sarah, yes i was one of the welsh group there where 7 of us all family and we had a fanastic time at the Terezas it was our first time but will defiinetly be going back, have already looked at next years and I've only been home 24 hrs !
Didn't go up to Romanza's but had nice meals everywhere especially the olive press and liked Barras, best breakfasts in the Sunset ,it was 1 euro more than other places but worth it, I was really disappointed yannis wasn't open and also the juice bar but dont think we missed anything else.

What can i say about Teresa, the family and the place are as gorgeous as ever and we were welcomed back like long lost friends which is lovely. (Leo will be a daddy in about 7 weeks )Also spent many a night with our friends Hilary and Spiro at Bar38, who are on form and ready for the summer.
If any one wants to know anything, just ask, as i could just go on wittering on for ever, so best you just ask anything you need to know. ???

Also there is a new place being done out now next door to bar38, they did a lot to it in the week we were there, sure it will be open in a few weeks.

Anyone going back to Teresa..you must ask Leo to show you his wedding photos, he has this huge album and i have never seen pictures like it..they are amazing...not only coz they are both stunning !!! but the album is out of this world...nothing like how they do them here. The baby is due about 3-4th week of June, so watch out if you are there then.
i am sure enything that wasn't open when i was there will be now, more sunbeds on beach, Yannis etc etc BUT no there is still no cash in the machine at Thomas Bay !!!

Forgot to answer your question !! nothing much new at Tereza..still just perfect. They have a shelf unit thing up behind the bar which covers a lot of the mirror now, which looks smart and very clean. Also leo was asking us what we thought about him taking the curtains down in the bar area..to make it even lighter and brighter and also he thinks they obscure the view for people..bless him !! Other than that, still the same wonderful, lovely place that i am beginning to call Home !!!! ;D

Last minute packing!
2005 we had a great week at Kapetanios, daughter partner & grandson were in Sidari & spent most of the time with us in the superior pool.
First stayed in SS 1992? think the appts were called Leonidas? they're a little further into the village below Kapetanios......that was a great two weeks travelled the whole island Lake korisson, pantokrator & old perithea, Krini & Corfu town.
This time tomorrow will be having ouzo night cap.

Hi all - havent checked how many days but think it's 32 - going to book next years today if I can - just hope the flights don't go up too much in price. Already got all summer clothes out and sorting thru - havent needed them in this country yet so can't wait for a bit of sun and relaxation. Kids are sooooooooo excited and us as well.

We stayed in AG in 2006 at the costas golden beach hotel, the resort & hotel were lovely. AG has a beautiful beach & lots of nice places to eat out, it is a very chilled out resort. We hired a quad bike so we could see more of the island.
We also visited Pagi twice, it is a very small village with friendly locals[be early for the fresh bread at the bakery because it soon sells out]. We got talking to a man of 89 years[Alan] who had moved to Pagi a couple of years ago to be near his family, he always sits with his dog outside the bar which was made famous by a James Bond film[ there are only a couple of bars opposite each other so you will easily find them and it was only 80 cents for a glass of wine] The walk on the road from Pagi to Aghios G[downhill] takes about 30-40 minutes depending on how fast that you walk, don't make the mistake that we made which was to try and cut through the olive groves back to AG, we got lost and it took us 2 hours to get back to AG[make sure you get a map]. We also went one evening to Pagi to a summer festival[6th August that year] which was a good evening. I am not sure if there are any buses from Pagi to AG, we always walked & I don't recall seeing any buses.
You have chosen a lovely & friendly place to enjoy your holiday.
We are giving San Stefanos a try this year, 52 days to go!

Only 9 days to go!! I'm so excited. This is our first holiday abroad in sooo long and the first time on a plane for my youngest son. I keep looking a the web cam picture and it looks so nice. Hi Claw,
Although there will be more apartments / hotels than you will remember San Stef has not lost any of its charm or friendliness. Plenty of tavernas and a few shops. The main street also has a pavement and lighting as well. Little Prince sounds like an excellent choice from what other people have written as well.

We are flying out on 22nd as well for 2 glorious weeks. Little Prince Restaurant is one of our sons favourites as they love the dancing and interaction of the waiters - plus we get a really great meal - try their Stamna - one of my all time favourites. Maybe see you around.

We too fly into Corfu on the 22nd and as ever are really looking forward to it. Our one regret is that we can only get away for a week.
You may have noticed that we are arranging a social meeting on tuesday 26th at the Silver Moon. A very quiet and comfortable bar. It is a chance to meet some of the posters from this and other forums. We have met some of them before and it should be a good atmosphered and relaxed night.
We will be in the Little Prince taverna for our traditional holiday starter. Sandra always has to have their sizzling steak. She will be the one disappearing behind a hissing, aromatic cloud of steam. You will have a great time.

Same here SUe - altho one of them will be in hotel near Gatwick and we prob won't sleep anyway. Managed to get whole day off work on Thurs so only 2.5 work days left for me.

2 more sleeps to go - I spoke with First choice airlines today as we have got early checkin the day before - they have said if we are using this service we don't need to turn up until 1 hour before we fly - so looks like we'll get extra hour in bed - not that we'll be able to sleep - too excited!!! Going to get rid of our luggage Thurs pm and then go and take boys to watch planes landing/taking off for a few hours (weather dependant). Then get flight 6am Fri am - can't wait. Weather has been atrocious today.

Right now it is 23:17pm tuesday 19/08/08. At exactly 06:50 on friday 22/08/08 we are due to take off for Corfu and more importantly San Stefanos. We cannot wait but have 2 days work to endure first. Socks, sandals, thongs, speedoes & string vests packed and waiting along with spray on cream ( factor 30) to excite certain stalkers/sorry members of this forum... no names mentioned julesT & sueLA...

Our packing is all done and we don't fly out from manchester until 12th September 1325pm...but soooooooooo excited. If weather is nice tomorrow we are going to go and watch the planes taking off from manchester to get us in the holiday mood!
I booked an extra 5kg of luggage allowance after getting stung last year at Manchester, I weighed myself yesterday then picked up the cases and we are 2kg's under so should be ok.

Only about 15 hours now and the plane will be just taking off. At last we will be SS bound for 2 glorious weeks. Can't wait to catch up with all the villagers that we know and to taste all the scrumptious food. :) ;)

Just 24hrs.to go we will be at Manchester waiting to fly, its going to be a long day tomorrow but it will be worth it,
after the week we"ve had first my dyson went belly up, then the washer decided to spew water everywhere,and tonight a glass shelf fell off the wall. We did wonder whether it would be safe to fly after all this but what the heck we"ll risk it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Waiting for our lift to airport looking at the grey sky and heavy rain falling thinking how I will miss this weather (NOT). Then I looked at the sun and blue sky on the san stef webcam knowing we are only hours away from that very beach. We managed to squeeze in a few extra hours on both days.
Will stay at Andrews over the weekend before we fly, he is our Taxi.

That was the end of the holiday and a dreadful 3 day wait to gat a flight back early.
It was difficult going back the next year - but we knew it was what she would have wanted!!

My Mums first stroke was whilst we were away in September 2006 and nothing seemed the same for the holiday after that. We kept in touch by phone as she had a phone by her bedside in hospital. Just to hear her talk to me was a releif then. Her next stroke was just after we returned home in September 2007 and she just never recovered from that stroke as it was just to massive. All along we knew she would still want us to have our holidays as she knew how much we planned and looked forward to them.

San Stefanos is a great healer for difficult situations and I am just so glad we are going back again :)

I was not in a good place before our hols in 2007, had my little safety zone around me.
John decided that I needed some sun on my back, and visiting San Stefanos was the best thing we ever did, made me open my eyes and see clearly again.

Welcome to these forums Zimmer.
Everything about San Stefanos draws people back year in year out. The people are lovely and very welcoming and talk to you like they have known you all there lives - even to new comers like yourself.
The beach is lovely and clean and never gets overcrowded like the beaches in Spain. The tavernas are all of a very high standard and you will be spoilt for choice.
Whereabouts are you staying in the village and when do you go. :)

so we were lucky - last year we didn't mate the dog as it meant the birth was while we were away, and that is a non-starter.

We stayed in Christinas the year they opened - nice Apts and Manthos loves you to death when you spend with him!!

Everywhere is good. There is the Condor Bar , Bar 38, Aquerious, Silver Star. They all have there own merits. We like Aquarious as its nice and peaceful with a few tables outside as well. There are lots of tavernas and if you search on the where to eat forum you will get lots of lovely ideas. We just wish we could get to take them all in on 2 week holiday. :)

Yes we are looking forward to exploring the area and ofcourse the bars and tavernas, myself and my partner will be there for a week and then we have friends coming out for our second week, so we will have to sample as many as possible in our first week, we have been going to Icmeler Turkey for many years (which we love too) but it is always nice and exciting to visit somewhere new, we could do with a bar crawl from olga taking in as many as poss...... :D

i thought it would drag but i have just packed liams case as he is going away with his girlfriend to cornwall next saturday i am working for a few hrs monday that i dont normaly do tue afternoon i have to work instead of wednesday as we have a funeral to go to on wednesday not looking forward to that we only just went to his 50 birthday party last summer he had a steel band come down to the farm from reading with a singer it was one of the best partys ever he just died milking the cows he left two kids 11 and 8 it has made us realise you have to live for now and not moan about things that are trivial but we have been told it is to be a happy service how he would of wanted it its going to be hard but if thats what his wife wants im going to try my best

We've had problems and collected at the airport. Did ring though (from work obviously) almost every hour for the last week before departure. When they did come they'd misspelt my name and we had to go to the Thomsons desk to get new ones issued.

I received ours last friday; the envelope and contents looked like a piece of direct mail; i almost chucked it in the bin without opening! I'm honestly not joking! You get a personal booklet and the tickets are 'hidden' inside, disguised as a page in the book! Weird!

have just been on the phone about tickets we will be picking them up at the airpot as the man who told me on monday that my tickets were in the post but not to worry if the post was late they would re do them at the airport lied they were never sent and he had put them down to be picked up at the airport its now to late to be sent them i also told her that they sell rooms with a bath at the thomas bay but they dont have any they couldbe could be done by trade discriptions but i think as they are now the biggest tour operator they are not worried i think next year we will go it alone we always thought you had the back up of the company but to be honest they are no help at all and also charge 10p min to phone

Definately worth looking at the independant option, especially now that Easyjet are flying out to Corfu. There's a website with a very good forum that'll give you loads of help. Oh, it's this one! LOL! Now you can start chilling and getting into SS mode. Yammas.

We are travelling with Thomson (1st time to SS) and got our informative booklet inc tickets and what can be described as very small luggage tags last Wednesday. We also travel on the 15th June. My other half did make the comment that it just looks like junk mail and could easily be thrown away :o. We have though picked tickets up from the airport on many occasions before and never had any trouble.

i never forget anything but this year did not put in our little travel clock if i had asked roy one more time what the time was i think he would have thrown me in off the balcony it was also the only time we had to be up 6.30 to leave so had to ask for a call we were so relaxed we would have still been asleep when the coach left it will not be forgotten again

I hope things get better for you....we're,probably, having our FH sabbatical next year, but then intend- god willing - to have a big one in 2011 when I retire, so next year may be a strain but we want to try and clear the deckls [ and the debts ha ha ]before I retire, luckily I live in a nice part of the world and it's as good as anywhere -- IF the weather's ok, we can take days down the Gower or Pembs
