We paid £163 for Easyjet flights this June from Gatwick with priority boarding, booked seats and luggage.I think the secret is to book early for the best prices.

Easyjet flights from Gatwick and Luton should become available in September. Ryanair and Thomson fly from Stansted.

I'm racking my brains as well as to where this short cut is.I've walked along the Arriles road turned left past the tennis courts and carried along
the Stouza road and turned right at the top but I wouldn't call it a short cut. Another route is to walk along the beach to the fisherman's house
and walk up the track from there but that's a bit of a hike and very steep.Come on someone enlighten me. ???

Well I don't know how true this is - but I still haven't had one Mossie bite in 30 years of San Stef, while others around me had been a mozzies lunch.
I do have a less common bloodgroup and I take anti-histamines - but I do like a beer - so how do you explain it?
The annoying thing is that I walk the dogs in my local park - - - I walk through clouds of Gnats at certain times and pick up occasional Gnat bites
- so whatever the Mozzies don't like - the Gnats do!!
I guess you must be one of the lucky ones that mosquitoes ignore,or it could be that after 30 years they've got so used to you they treat you like an old friend.

Bad news for Mythos drinkers!!! According to The Mail today mosquitoes are more attracted to beer drinkers!!
Not only that they also prefer people with group O blood and sweaty feet. So,as a non beer drinking, group A blood type with permanently
cool feet I know now why I rarely get bitten, hooray!!

Are they really going to be flying from Stansted to Corfu next year?

You're right Rover it's not always the mosquitoes that bite your legs, there are some pesky little flies that like to have a chew at you as well
and they are about day and night.I don't know if any sort of repellent works on them.

Information and help please / Re: Just a little Care
« on: July 27, 2013, 07:44:53 PM »
Of course nowhere is completely safe but in our 26 years here we have always regarded Ag Stef as a place children can be let out at a far earlier age than we now consider in the UK and there is little crime.  That is still the case and long may it continue.  This week, however, we have had a little incident that has made us wonder if we have been a bit too trusting and complacent in this lovely area.

We have always been careful with real valuables, like passports and put them in a safe.  Of course there are items that have value that we leave in the apartment, like iPads, some favourite pieces of Perdita Glass Art and a little cash.

After a late lunch this week we went back for a pre shower ziz and a read, leaving the key on the outside of our ground floor apartment in case one of the grandchildren wanted to come in.  I was sleeping off a few Retsinas and my wife reading.  She heard a slight rattling of the door and thought nothing of it but a few moments later saw a young lad whip into the lounge area.  A quick shout made him get out and get away on his moped, not before taking about €35 cash I had taken out of the beachwear trousers.  It could have been a lot worse if there had been a little more time allowed and we are thankful that it wasn’t.

This is not meant to scare anyone that we are going to be murdered in our beds.  Ag Stef remains a safe place but it has made us think that we ought to be a bit more careful than we have been used to.  It was just an opportunist petty crime but it is still not great to think a stranger has been poking around.  I understand that something similar happened in Arillas this week but don’t know if it is related.

Another great day here with calm seas and cloudless skies.  Can’t think what we are going to do with the day!  For anyone yet to get to AG, enjoy your holidays.

Sorry to hear about your unfortunate experience, must have given both of you quite a shock but you are not the only ones who have been
robbed recently.I have heard from someone on holiday there just now that two of the Thomson reps had 900 euros taken from their room last week Sad isn't it? They probably weren't local you can go a long way on a scooter but I guess we will all have to be a bit more careful.

This is all getting a bit petty and childish isn't it? We never lie around any pools, preferring the beach or going for walks or meeting
friends in the taverna and having a chat, but hey ho each to his own.

« on: July 09, 2013, 07:08:03 PM »
Check in was fine when we returned last week although there was no separate check in desk for Easyjet "speedy boarding" passengers, the excuse being that it is a small airport, although in previous years a separate desk has been allocated.
Be warned security is far more strict this year so keep your cameras, hairdryers and laptops at the top of your hand luggage as these have to go
in individual trays through the scanner.

Gaviah were you at the Tsaros Barbeque on June 23rd? If so we were part of the big, noisy group singing along to all the old 60s songs.

Yes we were there for The All Saints Festival which is the equivalent to our Whitsun. Our apartments are right next to the Church and the bells
started to ring at 8 a.m.and the service continued on loud speaker for three hours.People arrive from all over the village and as many as possible cram
into the little church, then they come out, chat to their friends while more people go in.At the end of the service sweet ,fruited bread is handed out
which is supposed to "cleanse the soul".That evening there was a festival in the village behind Thomas Bay Hotel.
