Lovely photos Aline, thank you. Glad you've got some sunshine again but if it never rained Corfu wouldn't be so lovely and green.

Never been on a quad bike and I do worry when I see some people driving around who obviously don't have a clue, and the ones who stand their children in front of the driver,an accident waiting to happen.
But I feel sorry for people like Nikos and Spiros in Agios Stefanos have invested a lot of money in quad bikes, what will happen to them?
They must have got rid of most of their scooters since the quad bikes became more popular

Now the Greek Government are trying to bring in another new law banning quad bikes from the roads.

James Bolam played Grandpa in my Pocket but he's better known as Terry from the Likely Lads to us of a certain age!
Don't remember Grandpa in my Pocket, was it a children's programme? As I am "of a certain age" I do remember the Likely Lads.

Hi Jim hope you are fully recovered now.  I'm not suggesting that they have to be actors or singers, they could be anyone, perhaps some historical figure, let your imagination run riot.

There was an article in The Mail today re."celebs we'd like to fly with".Adele came top of the list of people most holidaymakers would like to sit next to on a plane. Got me thinking how many of us have come across someone well known either at the airport or on our flight.
To set the ball rolling, when we flow out of Stansted in September, Joanna Lumley was standing outside with a friend having a cigarette.
She's someone I would like sitting next to me, I love her travel shows and she was so funny in Ab Fab. Unfortunately she wasn't on our flight.
A few years ago we encountered Ian Lavender in the departure lounge in Corfu airport.

Thanks for that Winkie, yes I'm fine, hope you are. I've been told that you have to be invited onto those sites, do you think that's true?

I'd like to know that too. After denying that I'd ever join facebook I've finally weakened mainly because there is so little activity on the forum.

Probably because the weather isn't too good, or they could be nursing hangovers from the Arrilas beer festival which is taking place just now.

Hi everyone,

as I see you are getting quite worried about the supermarkets ordeal, I just wanted to let you know that they are closing again late...
A similar situation happens every year; for one reason or another the police dig up some ridiculous law and start going around "collecting" money. A few days later everything is back to normal.
Greeks are rebellious - it's in our DNA. Do you think this absurd law is going to stop people running their businesses as usual? I don't think so! :)

--You are always going to be a priority for locals!!
A bit like the ridiculous law they dug up last year banning businesses from having illuminated signs outside.

While we were in Agios Stefanos last week we were told that the reason for closing the supermarkets at 9 o'clock was to deter the youngsters who holiday in Kavos and similar  resorts from tanking up on cheap alcohol.
The law only applies to Corfu and not to mainland Greece or the other islands.
