I agree Jimbo. With the Italian constitution change vote on Sunday, their banks in meltdown there are more pressing problems in Europe at the moment than Brexit. All of which of course will affect the euro.

Well Abbo in 3 years I'll be retired and looking at a month also. May to June as a preference though there's a lot to be said for Sept to October.

Ain't it always so. Paid my deposit on Monday and the euro continued to rise. Oh hum. Still the fact its still rising is good news overall.

In the words of Shania Twain I've gone and done it. I've booked and paid the deposit for next year's holiday at the Fedra Mare. I know it costs more but that's life. Things are what they are. I can't forego 2 weeks in the sun with great food and being amongst friends on holiday, marvellous.

We elect our parliament. They are our representatives. That IS our democracy.

I thought that was the point I was making.

"Our elected representatives" Jimbo had their say when they voted for the referendum in the first place. Over 500 voted in favour.

It seems to me that people only like democracy when it goes their way.

Silver lining if there is one post Trump is the rising euro. 1.15 plus at the moment.

I normally do a review but didn't this year as I only tend to report that we had a good time however in the spirit of friendship here's mine.
Everything was very good except for the bin situation which the locals had solved by taking the rubbish themselves to a local football pitch. Can you imagine that here there'd be rioting in the streets.
One thing I must tell you though is that exactly halfway through our fortnight and settling down for breakfast at Fedra my two sons appeared with beach towels and a cheery hello. we were gobsmacked. The eldest was supposed to be in work as he had no annual leave left the youngest was waiting for his A levels and looking for work.
Well my wife burst into tears and I checked how many euros we had - they ain't cheap our two.
What a surprise.
Anyway a great second week was had by all.

I agree with Teamnickos. Ate there 4 times in July with no "cutlery" charge and it was very busy each time in fact the one night there were only 3/4 tables right inside not in use. Always found them very welcoming for kids as well.

And many of us who disagree can happily have a drink and a hug in SS, and do.

But, it's a serious issue. It has world-wide implications. It's not normally the British way to run away and hide, but that's what the vote means, it seems to me.

Actual Brexit is retreating over the distant horizon as the government postpones the issue. The jury is still out on whether the Scottish parliament can veto the exit. This was a "non-binding" referendum, and if parliament decides that it's against the best interests of the UK it won't happen. Meanwhile, let's enjoy the rubbish exchange rate!

I have to say Jimbo that's brilliant - conciliatory while fanning the flames - running away and hiding indeed. Unbelievable.
Thank goodness our fantastic Olympians aren't plagued with negative thoughts. Their can do attitude is a great example of what the people of this country can do when they put their minds to it. Go GB in everything.

Stupid phrases like "Remoaners" do not quite encompass the magnitude of what this decision means.

So now I'm stupid. Beaten by the greater intellect clearly.

It's true you didn't start it Jumbo but you're doing a good job of keeping it going. 43 days had elapsed from the last post to yours on the 12th.

When will all the "remoaners" just give it a rest. It is what it is. There have been winners and losers from the outcome and that will continue. Such is life. If the cost of my fortnightly holiday is going to go up I either suck it up or don't go. Choices choices.
