Information and help please / Re: Manchester Airport
« on: August 23, 2009, 12:21:52 PM »
hi Jules,

Our flight changed from MAy to a 6am flight, so we were through passport control early too.

We fly from Birmingham and all the shops were just opening when we went through, the food places were already open and serving but the other shops opened about 5am, so you will be fine.

There is Zorbas Group to join on Facebook, am sure Pavlos would reply to any questions asked on the group - or anyone else who may know the answers.

Not doing much, Don, as saving pennie for hols !!!

Am going to my mates village on the Saturday, there is a raft race and things going on down in the village, and her local pub has a barbie and live music etc through the afternoon and into the evening, so prob sample a few beers knowing we have 2 days still off work !!!!!

Then, weather permitting, will prob be in garden with a good book for the rest of the weekend.

i am too a smoker, as has been said.....my choice. i always check around the tables next to me and if people still eating then i wait, that again is my choice....as we are allowed to smoke at the table in Corfu, but i have manners.

i too get a bit sick of the smokers being treated like outcasts, i do agree there should be segregated areas in pubs, but making us smoke in the street wasnt really the way forward !!!

Anyway, each to their own, but i can't see Corfu becoming strict on this - thank God !!!!!

i too agree , its each to their own and it is a site for passing on information or opinion.........HOWEVER.......

is there any need for this person to be quite so rude, obnoxious and insulting to people ????

No i don't think so, so i for one am glad if they have decided to leave the forum.

San Stefanos news and views / Re: 2 Bedroom Apartments at the Teresa
« on: July 14, 2009, 09:41:10 PM »
we have stayed in the 2 bed SC at Teresa, they are really nice. There are 3 across the top floor, the steps upto them are a little steep.

Where the steps end, there is one straight ahead and 2 round to the right.
We stayed in the middle one, so, a Jules said the farthest room occupants would have to walk past you to reach theirs, but we didnt find that to be a problem, it usually just led to a few chats !!!

There is a small table and couple of stools outside, andit also has a line for you to dry towels etc. It is not a large sitting area but pleasant enough to sit and chill out.

You also have a table and chairs inside in the kitchen/dining area, which is separate to the 2 bedrooms.

Fantastic place to stay, you will enjoy it.

only have one thing to say, regarding the comment about SS becoming "Sidarised" and Macdonalds .

These will never happen in SS, as some of our FRIENDS that live there, talk to us about the lifestyle and some of the laws etc - as some of them do actually like to tell us about the Greek way of life and not TRY to be Brits for us - and we are told that they can only build a few private house's in SS from now on, no more Hotels etc, so it will never become a "built up" town.

This news, for some of us, is great, as it will stay as we like it - a piece of paradise to unwind from our hectic work/life styles.

Where to eat out in San Stefanos? / Re: Zimmer's Dinner's
« on: July 13, 2009, 11:13:31 PM »
Can assure you all that any "pinging" in Mythica is only reheating, as i know for a fact that, Leo and his parents do all the cooking themselves, some of which can be prepared during the day.

Everybody has their own opinion and preferences, but Mythica is one of a handful that is proper "home-cooked" food.

Hi Sarah,

Thanks for your kind words in your after-holiday posting.

hi Mike,
How lovely to hear from you !!!

yes, unfortunately we had to go up the hill for Sept, the prices were too high for us for a week, but we will spend time down at Teresas, it wil be lovely to se you both again.

There is the usual crowd of us in May for 2 weeks, which will be great.

How are things with you and the family, all good i hope. Did your grandaughter go off on the Cruise Ship ??

Do keep in touch

Leo "thinks" they will be fully booked thru september, but i have been on portland and they have several left on there and i imagine they will stay on there seeing as they are charging over £400 for 1 week in September.

Leo won't know what the prices are for September and i don't think he will be too impressed by them, as he may have empty rooms which means people not there spending in the bar.

Boo hiss Portland - i have had to book my return week in Spet at Kapetanios as we were not paying those prices........but we will still spend our time at Tereza's.

Where to stay / Re: Teresa apartments
« on: July 07, 2009, 11:11:36 PM »
you will have a great time at Teresa's. Family are so welcoming and helpful, they will do anything they can to make your stay enjoyble.

Also, when it comes to the menu, whether it is breakfast, lunch or dinner, you will find them very flexible and you can pretty much order whatever you want in whatever way you want it !!!!

Enjoy

Where to stay / Re: 2010 - Where and when?
« on: July 07, 2009, 11:05:52 PM »
and we have booked for next year too !!!! and still have week in sept this year yet !!!!

we noticed the prices with portland at Teresa were up considerably on the B & B side, but if you go self catering - the price difference (when we asked) was about £130 well sorry but you wouldnt spend £130 each on breakfasts for 2 weeks.......so now mine is safely booked , ha ha,  i suggest those trying to book Teresa go for the self catering option and go out for brekkie !!!!!

Just an idea !!!!

Good luck !!!

Sept 18th - 1 week

2010 may 14th - 28th

Yippee !!!
