We took advantage of the cooler but dry afternoon yesterday to go walking.
Magaloudes, (apologies for spelling), can be reached by heading up by past the tennis courts, the Rose Garden apts and then when you get to the junction for heading to Avliotes and the football pitch take the opposite direction and follow a path up through the olive groves. It's a bit steep in parts, but door to door took about 90 minutes.
The village is small, but pretty with a torpedo! a bakery and a big church. The views inland across the valley to the east are spectacular.
From there, if you take the Arillas road, you can walk to Corfu Brewery in 25 minutes, mostly downhill
for a well earned pitstop.
After the brewery, you have another 20 minutes walk along the top of Arillas to Akrotiri Bar for a another refrrshment.... there is a theme here
All told we walked for ~ 2.5 hours, a good way to spend a dull, cool afternoon.
Cheers
