1)- What is the correct pronunciation?
2)- Pitta or Plate?
3)- Who does the best in San Stef?

Pronounced gee-ross. Pitta if you don't mind messy fingers, otherwise plate. I've only eaten them from the Tasty Corner,& I am happy with the choice there.

I prefer them in a pitta, but if you don't mind them on a plate, Terezas do a great gyros, but don't have a starter, they are huge.

Sorry Helen, almost correct gyro does indeed mean round, but in terms of turn round as in rotate (like on a spit). Think gyrate.

Quite regular at Tasty Corner and I find them moreish! Sandra prefers pork souvlaki though. Both of us enjoyed a lunchtime Gyros Pitta at the Olympia, very nice indeed though only one size available. Had Gyros plate at the Little Prince and enjoyed that too.

Basically.... A pitta wrap... Containing meat, salad, fries and taramasalata (spelling!). Cheap, filling and tasty. Probably the only fast food we eat.

Yes - Gyros are best at tasty - but they worry me - it's almost the same as the turkish "Doner Kepab",
pressed meat cooked on a rotating spit grill, the troube is "What was the Doner"?? How many days has it been rotating??
It always looks like a road-kill grill to me.  LOL!! ::)
But must admit - I do eat them on occasions from the Tasty grill!!
