As many of you know, Perdita closed the doors of her shop at the end of 2018.

However, as a fellow business, and artists, we are pleased to announce that Perdita will be supplying Hippopots with a range of her beautiful hand made glass, which will be displayed alongside our hand painted ceramics.

We're looking forward to working with her, meaning that her products will still be available to purchase in Ag Stefanos.

Kalispera!

Having not been on the forum for a long time, and having seen on another thread how this one has been missed, I am back!

I have stated on the other thread how this is hard to keep up with during Summer, due to work, so please feel free to keep it going with your own daily updates when on holiday, to give everyone an alternative to facebook.

We've just returned after 10 weeks away, and been down to San Stefanos just once, but I must say, it's lovely to be back, and Bod dived straight into the sea, although he was a bit stunned by the temperature, as it was much warmer when he last took a swim in October!

It is pretty chilly at the mo, but the sun is shining, and the snow on the Albanian mountains makes a stunning backdrop.

All is quiet in resort, although fortunately we do have Express market open for provisions, El Greco open for drinks, and Town Pizza open at weekends for food.

Unfortunately 2 businesses have closed their doors at the end of 2018, Perdita's glass (more news on another thread), and Chilly Chilli.

However, the good news is we have a new taverna opening, in the old Captain Octopus site, between Silver Star, and Vasia gift shop, and who knows, there may be more new ones to report on before the beginning of Summer, time will tell.

So, I'll do my best to keep all up to date, and anyone who would like to contribute to keep the thread going, please do!  :)

Hi everyone!
Just popped on here after a long while, and never realised how many use this and not facebook, which I must admit I thought had really kind of taken over!

So, with that in mind, I am ressurecting the Whats Happenin thread, although it has proved hard to keep up with in the Summer, so please feel free to contribute whilst on your holidays, to keep it running!!!

Sorry, been quite a while since I posted, so now everyone is up and running, the resort is in full Summer mode, and places are getting busy!

May was a lovely month, just a couple of iffy days. Generally it's felt hotter than average, and with that on top of a hot April, the sea temperature is warmer than usual, so lots of people in, enjoying a cooling off!

Nice to see the beach busy, and last week the watersports platforms were put in place, and have seen quite a number of people parascending, or taking boats out.

Very pleased to see the post Aline put on regarding the olive oil.....always loved having it on the table to add to salads, or dip my bread in, so glad to see we haven't lost that tradition!

The taverna was called The Paradise.

I don't know why it closed, but I do know the 'young lad from Yorkshire' was Glenn, who owns Aquarius Bar, next to Athina Hotel!

Having been empty for a long time, this year the building is being used as a base for the family's business, which is pool chemical supplies.

Seems like quite a few people arrived yesterday, which means more places open for the season.

The Wood Shop and the laundrette were both open this morning.

Little Prince has it's first guests, as does Barras.

Elizabeths is now open, and Athens Bar has it's opening night tonight.

Silver Star is also open too.

Quite a few people walking the beach today, Mistral is open this evening, and Waves look like they will be soon too.

Slowly Slowly as we say in Greece, the resort awakens!

Well, yesterday was a bank holiday here in Greece, and with the glorious weather we are having, it was nice to see quite a few people on the beach, and some in the sea too!

And the resort is beginning to open up for Summer. At the moment the following places are up and running;

Aspa,
Yiannis Grill Room,
Spiros Bikes
Dimitra Manos Car hire
Pegasus Bikes
Express Market
3 W's Bar
2 Stars
Zorbas (I think!)
Tasty Corner
El Greco
Havana Beach ar
Town Pizza
Vasia gift shop
Margarita Supermarket
Hippopots Ceramics
Akrotiri
(Apologies if I've missed anyone!!!!)

And plenty of others will soon follow, with Barras all set up ready, tables and chairs outside Little Prince, Tereza's Hotel getting a good scrub outside, Kapitanos cleaning, Sunbeds etc around the pool at Athina and Vicky, Taste of Life, and Zest for Life getting ready, gardening at Summer Dreams, pressure washing at Nafsika and Manthos, and plenty of work going on at Mistral and Waves.

I think by this weekend, most of the village will be open. 8)

Hello Mr Biggins!
Nice to hear you are coming to visit soon.

I can confirm that yes, the other ginger in the village has been spotted, and is busy getting Aquarius Bar ready for Summer. Remember to bring your ear plugs if you don't enjoy his warblings!!!

Another glorious day again, which saw people in the sea! A little braver than me, but if the weather stays like this I may venture in earlier than usual!

Power washers were working well today, with both ourselves and Beachcomber cleaning our patios!

Paintwork has been freshened up, and changed colour at both Acabar, and 2 Stars, and bikes are out at Spiros Bikes and Pegasus, ready for renting soon.

Dimitra and Manos have their cars ready at their new location, next to Express Market, and Aspa Supermarket is up and running.

We're now all ready for opening, so will be having a fw days away from San Stef, until we open on 1st May, so next report will be then.....time for a weekend off before Summer begins! ;D

Thank you Karen.

We had a day off prepping yesterday, to spend some time with friends, but we did still head to San Stef, to all enjoy a very nice lunch at Tasty Corner.

It was rather pleasant to sit in for a change, and watch the going's on with a nice cool beer!

From our vantage point we watched Silver Star re-varnishing all his chairs, and Vasia's shop being prepared.

Barras was getting a good clean, including the roof being pressure washed....quite handy really as we'd parked outside, and once they'd asked if we wanted to move our car, we just closed the windows, and they very kindly gave it a little wash down with the spray from the washer  ;D

After lunch, a quick trip to Yiannis supermarket revealed preparations of vehicles at Spiros Bikes, and stock being organised in Elizabeths.

Won't be long before we're all ready and raring to go!

Well, we've had a week of glorious weather, which means it's rather nice to be working in, with everyone prepping for Summer.

The sound of strimmers and pressure washers fills the air, as we all start getting ready.

Beachcombers has been busy tidying the patio after the Winter storms, as has Mistral too.

Bars are getting ready, with 3W's, Bar 38, Silver Star, and Athens Bar all getting stuck in.

Painting going on at Acarbar, and the laundrette, and ourselves, Perdita and Vasia busy getting our shops ready.

Just 1 more week until the end of April, then all systems go for Summer 2018! 8)

Well, Easter celebrations are now over (was a lovely weekend!), so time to start getting ready for Summer!

The weather has been amazing, nice and warm, and lots of sunshine, so perfect for getting businesses prepped.

We were in the village a couple of days ago, and pressure washers were in full flow at Little Prince, and Vasia's shop.

Mistral was getting a clean down, and Nafsika getting some painting work done.

El Greco has had people sat enjoying the sun with a drink every time we pass, 3W's is returning to Summer opening hours next week, and Tasty Corner opens today....Summer's coming!!  8)

Well, we've had a week for beautiful weather now, sunny days, and all the spring flowers are blooming, so everywhere looking lovely! Lots of beautiful purple blossom on trees, daisies on the roadsides, and wisteria looking gorgeous!

Bod and I took a little walk along the beach today, and it was lovely to see a lady and 2 young girls playing in the sea!

Ag Stefanos is slowly coming to life....Yiannis new place is looking fab, and Tasty Corner has his signs going up on the wall in front, a sure sign he'll be open soon ,ready to feed us whilst we work!

3 W's looking quite busy this afternoon too, and work going on at Silver Moon, and Nafsika.

Summer will be upon us very soon....even saw my first firefly a few days ago.

Popped into Ag Stefanos this morning, and you can tell Summer is coming with plenty of work going on (though hard to believe it's on it's way, with the cold wet Winter we've been having!)

Plenty of activity today, with cleaning starting at Silver Star and Vasia, stock arriving at Margarita's supermarket, sweeping in Condor, prep work in Elizabeths, painting at Tasty Corner, and Yiannis grill room coming on it leaps and bounds! Think everyone must be getting stuck in, so there will be plenty of time to enjoy Easter festivities without worrying about work!  :)
