Greece mainland still in the corridor, they are targeting islands with high infection rates, which I think is the correct thing to do.

What she is thinking of is the English government's previous statement that there could be no selective exclusions. Remember, it's only a few weeks since they said that the Canary Islands could not be treated differently from mainland Spain!

Yes Jim. It makes more sense to do it individually.

Our friends, a couple with their daughter and boyfriend have travelled down to Manchester today for their flight to Crete.  They have already had to change their travel arrangements twice due to covid.  The flight was for tomorrow.  They have just learned that Crete is now on the quarantine list.  They have had to cancel the whole holiday as the husband can't possibly quarantine due to his job.  They are now getting "blotto" somewhere in Manchester, having a one night stay and sadly heading back to Durham tomorrow.  Corfu tourists are lucky in my opinion.  Not grumbling like.

That's sad Rod. Any country or island can go into quarantine at a moments notice, that is the risk we take if we go on holiday.

Awful for them Rod, but Karen is right and in many ways I suspect almost everyone has been badly impacted by C19, not least via the economy which is still to fully hit us all. Unfortunately for many a family it has had tragic consequences.
The last 2 days of rates from the ECDC (European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control) here  have shown the cumulative 14 day rates for the UK above that of Greece. So the main worry soon for those looking to travel may be being allowed into Greece!

Yes Geordie, that is a possibility of course and wouldn't surprise me. Sorry to be doom and gloom...
