Yes today Saturday we have a very mild start, already 20c at 10.00. The sun is trying to break through, looking to be a lovely warm day ahead.  Happy Saturday x

Whilst the discussion on the Bohr–Einstein debates rage on, in a space and time that does not exist :o ! We have people in the sea in Corfu :o  Something does not look right when I sit here watching and know how cold I feel in the house, fleece on and heating still trying to get us warm.... :-X

Wise words! But I take comfort from the fact that we don't have a heat-exchanger!

I think you might find most modern heat exchangers these days work fine in cold weather. Better if it is ground source, but even air-source. However I'm firmly of the belief you should never rely on any one source. I'm betting there are a few wood burners in Corfu and likely a generator or two!

2.30pm here in in NW Corfu it is now 25c so what else to do but enjoy the warmth and Vit D.  Also thinking as the government said electricity would rise in November by up to 50% so also thinking  I am also saving some euros on my heating costs too.!!!..... But maybe spending more on the wine on the patio ......

In a Victorian house like ours wall insulation is near-impossible. No cavities. Heat-exchangers need to run 24/7, they are noisy, and ground-based exchangers are not feasible for a huge number of houses. I'm not sure it's the solution.

It is a solution, not the only solution. Insulation is needed regardless of any solution, many places in Europe are insulating retro on the outside. We need someone with the guts to do something. Can't believe we are still building new houses without solar, ground source excavating on new sites where they are in any case digging deep sewer trenches  !

The forecast has been pretty spot on, Rain all through Saturday night into all day yesterday including rumbles of Thunder.  Today, Monday it  is is rather cloudy and grey.  At last the leaves are falling from the Grape Vine and fruit trees.  This will give Aris plenty to do sweeping and collecting the leaves for mulching and then we can use for digging into the earth for a natural compost. Forecast rain until at least Thursday and slightly cooler. Happy Monday All x
