Nice and warm and sunny this morning, we had some hazy cloud this afternoon and there were rumours of rain coming, but no sign of it yet.

Wandering down to the beach this morning, we saw the pillars at Silver Star being given a fresh lick of paint, nice to see that it will be open after all this year.
Lots of strimming going on behind Perdita's shop, and exterior painting also being done at Yiannis restaurant, and also Yiannis Gyros.
And Glenn was re-varnishing wooden posts outside Aquarius....the weather is so wearing to exteriors of buildings here over the Winter!

Also saw Sue and Kimon, of Beachcombers, who said they will be opening on Saturday 2nd May.

The slightly hazy clouds of yesterday cleared up today, and by mid morning we had lovely sunny weather once again.

Everyone busy busy, getting ready, so many cars parked on the main road through towards Avliotes, as everyone turning up to work, and deliveries arriving.

This morning Mediterranean village was getting cleaned through, and windows were being washed.
Dimitri at Acabar was spotted for the first time this year, getting his bar set up.

There is also some work going on behind Perdita's....there's been an unused outside bar there, but this year its had a paint job....maybe another watering hole opening this year????

Pools have been/are being filled at Kaptanios, Terezas, and Stamatis, and lots of cleaning going on.

There are visitors here already, and quite a few hire cars around, and with Town Pizza, 3W's El Greco, and Tasty Corner all open, things are slowly getting underway.
We are heading for a 1st May opening, maybe a day or 2 earlier if we're ready......

Lovely and sunny again today, we're so spoiled with the weather at the mo, long may it continue!
Well, thats the last chance for any of us working in San Stef to have a Sunday off until October, but there was still plenty being done.
Niko was putting finishing touches to new steps that have been installed at the side of Athens Bar patio.....easy access to the road to Athina, via Spiros bikes, and only 3 steps so not too many to fall down after a few ouzos!  ;D
Painting and jet washing at Yiannis gyros, Mediterannean Village, and Zorbas, and pools filling up at Athina and Barras.

There was a big truck on the beach this morning with a trailer on the back that had off loaded the JCB, so hopefully the beach will be prepped after its Winter pounding soon.
Oh, and good news for those with young kiddies....the 'death slide' in front of Mango has gone. No more sliding off the bottom onto a 3 foot drop! :D

Thanks for the best wishes.....we're all beavering away, getting ready, and looking forward to welcoming visitors both regular and new to this lovely village!

Preparations and cleaning was underway at Olgas this morning, and Sunset was also being prepped.

Just back from an evening stroll with doggy, walking up 'that' hill past Tsaros, where the pool area looks all ready, and very inviting. Also, lots of crates of Mythos there too...... ;D

On the way back, noticed that all the tables and chairs are set up ready in 2 Stars, and I also stopped to have a chat with the chap who's taken on Silver Star. He said he's planning to open sometime between 1st and 10th May, and is going to be offering, as well as bar drinks, coffees, tea, cakes, waffles and probably ice cream.

Woke up to rain this morning, but it didn't last long, and by 10am the sun was out once again.

ATM has returned to Thomas Bay, so with the one at Crystal Daisy, we're back to 2 in the village again, which is good.
Sunbeds and umbrellas are up and ready at both Barras and Athina.

Work going on inside Bar 38, all being cleaned, ready to welcome people.
The Juice Bar has put some nice wooden edging around their patio, with one bit looking like it may be a little area to sit at too.
Taste of Life, the gift shop next to the Juice Bar was being sorted out this evening, and all the supermarket have been stocking up their shelves.

Great to hear the place is coming to life. It's nice to hear that someone has taken on the Silver Star as it's a big space! Should be good if they're doing coffees, cake ice creams etc. as I always felt it needed a little something extra for during the day. Also good to hear that the Juice bar is taking shape, it's a favourite spot of ours although we'll miss spending time with Shane and Sandra! Everything else sounds really positive and I hope all our friends have a really good season.

Only 36 days to go for us to return to The Little Prince, email sent today to book taxi from the airport, tickets printed off, API info done, more euros bought from John Lewis Edinburgh at 1.3650, sipping an ice cold Mythos as I type. Would feel like we're there except temperature is about 8 dgrees, mixture of sun and showers. Bring on the 5th of June :)
