Where to stay / Re: Apartments / Hotel next door to Fedra Mare
« on: August 02, 2022, 07:29:26 PM »
Hi BAJ, I would be interested in staying at Fedra Mare in the future can you give me an idea of prices per night please.
Would the owners be OK if we went up there for a look around when we are in resort in August, we stay right up the other end of the village :-)
Hello Evertonendo, prices vary depending on time of visit and accommodation and I don’t know what next years rates are. You can contact the owners via Facebook messenger or email info@fedramare.gr though.
They also have a website http://www.fedramare.gr

We are at Fedra now and it is a private villa, nearly finished now and Dimitri says owned by an English guy.

Although not been since 2019 Olympia is always one of our main go to places.  Love the lamb with feta and spinach with boiled potatoes.I 😋
Jules, you’ll be pleased to hear it is still on the menu, my wife had it on Sunday

I have done but the last time was 3 years ago with Thanassis. Be aware hire prices have increased and pre- booking is essential.

Thanks for the replies, I didn't know about the laundry in the village. :)
From Tasty corner walk towards Arillas and it is on the right next to the olive wood shop.
Dupnica mentioned that Fedra Mare has laundry facilities - they have a washing machine in a small communal area.

I don't think I'll actually have many books for the signing. People keep getting advanced orders in. I'm prioritising people who live here, because since Brexit it's almost impossible to get books here.
No problem Jim, I will get one ordered here so that I can read it whilst ‘on the set’.
We will have a week cross over to meet up for a beer and natter. Brian

I'll be signing books at Little Prince bar on Saturday, 3 - 4 pm. Including signing a few Kindles!!
When are you in the village until Jim? We arrive Thursday 21st July, and I will purchase a book direct from you if you are still there then and have some stock left. Otherwise I’ll get it direct from Amazon before we leave. Brian

San Stefanos news and views / Re: Noise Levels.
« on: July 12, 2022, 06:30:56 PM »
It does seem that in high season there is a volume competition between some bars, which when you are not in one of them just becomes a din. I too saw the Facebook post and the poster was staying up the hill to Akrotiri so hardly staying nearby but I guess the noise was travelling up the hill that night.
The main road obviously has a place in many peoples holidays with live music, but it’s horses for courses I guess and a curfew would seem the sensible compromise.
Personally our post dinner drinks are either at Manthos, Kamini, Fantasea or back at the bar at Fedra Mare, or sometimes all of them 😂. Never been disturbed by noise at that end.

Ive never used them because of the bank transfer ?
They have now added an option for card payment too for a small fee.

The resignation has bolstered the pound v the euro, I’ve taken the plunge and purchased. Currently 1.171 on TravelFx, I have used them several times without any issues, free special delivery on orders over £700 and no charge if paying by bank transfer.

Winkie, Olympia is one we haven’t been to for quite a few years, we will rectify that at the end of July having read many positive reviews. Any stand out dishes?

Where to eat out in San Stefanos? / 2022 Restaurant recommendations
« on: June 26, 2022, 04:21:23 PM »
Okay folks, so a tried and tested thread I’m afraid, but like many of you the wonderful fresh food in the village is one of the big attractions for us.
Now it’s nearly July hopefully everyone on here who loves the village will have either been or be getting near to a visit, some perhaps for the first time since 2019.
So for those who have been this year already, and others to update as they visit, which restaurants stood out for you this year and why? Brian

We are arriving in 4 weeks staying at Athina. Can anybody who's there now or been recently tell me if passport control arriving was easy or a long wait.  Getting quite exited now..
We arrived on a Saturday morning flight at the end of May, a few other flights around the same time and we were through passport control in about 15 mins, before the cases were on the carousel. They had 4 passport kiosks open then.

Will have to try that beef dish next time. Last week it was full at lunch times but when we went one evening there was only us and three other tables. I was very upset the Greek meatballs had been removed from the starters though ☹️, they were delicious.
