Let's have a little activity in the forums, dear friends :)
So when is everyone going and where are you staying. What are you most looking forward to, on your holiday.
We are going on 28th June for 2 weeks, staying in the Little Prince, for the first time and we are looking forward to our first meal in the Nafsika :)
-
Hi there, good lady and I are going last three weeks in May, staying in the Romanza, can,t wait never been for more than two weeks before and hope this gives us time to fit everything in, looking forward to yannnis and zorbas and hope to give the nafsica a whirl this time, tried it a couple of years back and didn't have a good meal, judging by opinion here we hit an off night so looking forward to trying again, look forward to saying hi if I recognize anyone

Good idea Karen, the forum has been pretty dead over the last few weeks. I'm thinking about my usual mid September week up in Villa Voula. I usually struggle to walk up the hill on the first couple of days but it's usually a breeze by the time I'm due to go home!
-
We open at Vicky's on May 4th for this Summer and look forward to meeting all our guests & visitors this Summer........
-
Jackie is flying out 17th August for 3 weeks and I'm joining her on 21st. Staying at Athens bar as usual. We also have 2 friends and their 2 boys with us for the first 12 nights, so introducing more people to the village. We brought 2 friends and their daughter out 3 years ago and they now return every year.
-
Morning all, We are staying at Silver Moon end of May for two weeks, missed last year due to illness , Looking forward to catching up with all our friends 8)

We have thought about staying longer, but we like the food too much, we would come back like barrels. In our opinion, the Nafsika did go downhill. Spiros had a change of staff and were still learning. Last year they were much better, very attentive and the food was great! Romanza looks lovely, but hubby wouldn't be able to cope with the hill now :)

Lucky Jackie! It's great seeing new people come to the village, we have introduced a few friends, who return each year. We have been going for 15 years and are now seeing young people coming out, who used to come with their parents! Aah lovely Nikos at Athens :)

Hello! Have you booked through TUI or are you in the private apartments. We have been going there for 15years, but couldn't get in this year. The apartments are central to everything :)

I have indeed, about two years ago, absolutely superb apartments. Huge rooms, with balconies, excellent shower, and a fabulous kitchen area. Stelios even topped up the fridge with all sorts of stuff, even bottles of beer. Tried to book for this year, but no availability, hence the villa. Pm me if you need more info.

Nafsika is my favourite but never had a bad meal anywhere.

Hey Sunshinegirl - we haven't stayed at the Olympia villa but it costs e650 per week regardless of season. They're very nice
-
Staying at Anatoli apartments for the first time, 29th July for two weeks.
We have previously booked packages and gone independent, but independent worked out cheapest for us this year.
First time staying somewhere without a pool though.

Sadly we are unable to make 2020, the cost of flights is prohibitive to make it annually. But we are coming back in 2021 and have secured 3 weeks in the Margaritas Suites again and we are so looking forward to that. Insofar as meals are concerned there are so many excellent options, but probably Manthos for our first. We have so many happy memories of great nights there in the 80s. Hope to meet up with some of you folk too.
Till then, kalo taxidi.
Chris

We booked direct with Elesioss so we are in the private apartments. Have you stayed in them before? What are they like? We don’t spend much time at all in the room so don’t need anything fancy.
Really looking forward to being down in the village after being up at the Nondas for years.
-
Wonderful news Jim looking forward to seeing you and Gillie again this summer xx
-
Looking forward to seeing you, too! It's cold here, and the thought of only needing shorts and a t-shirt helps me get by. Hope your new laptop is serving you well; it would be hard to get worse than the little blue affair, which I discovered recently was disastrous design decision flogged off very cheaply to unscrupulous dealers.

We've had 15 years in the TUI ones and they are falling to bits inside, however both blocks are very well equipped. Fridge, kettle , toaster, little oven and cooking rings. The private ones are much newer so I don't think you'll be disappointed. Nice and quiet too. Elliseous is lovely

Excellent. Are there two complete separate blocks then? One for TUI and one for private? Also is there a snack bar at the pool and I’m assuming it’s food/drink only purchased from there to be consumed around the pool?

Yes there are 2 separate blocks. There is a small restaurant or you can eat on the front terrace. Good menu, breakfasts, salads, omelettes, most things with chips, toasties, sandwiches etc Yes I think you can only drink , eat from pool bar/restaurant. :)

That makes sense, I didn’t realise there was a snack bar there also. Thanks for the info 👍

Mythos are down the lane if you turn left at the tennis courts. Not to far from Rose Garden

Staying at Silvermoon again from 4th September. Can't come soon enough. Its freezing here today in the NW of England.
Will be our 20th year of holidaying in San Stef and will have a belated 60th birthday celebration for my hubby as well with our Corfu friends.

Yes, but although cold in the NW it was lovely out and there was actually some warmth in the sunshine. Not quite AS mind!

28th May for a week, staying at Barras, have recently found out a couple of our mates have also booked and are on our flight so happy days!!
Then 20th August for 2 weeks again at Barras. Plenty of people there that we know including some very dodgy people from Warrington!
Only stayed at Barras for the first time last year when we stayed May and August. Great apartments, spotlessly clean and superb bar vibe. So handy being bang in the middle!!
Probs looking forwards to playing with my drone up the Nudie end of the beach!

Sounds great! Barras is in a very good position for everything isn't it? Be careful what you're doing with that drone! ;D

Very dodgy indeed!! 😂
Whilst I’m looking forward to staying down in the village for the first time in ages, the only downside will be the close proximity to the riffraff from Wakefield that take over the Barras in August.

Yeah it's great Karen. We've always gone in for a meal and saw a free child place last year so booked. Lovely little pool and the Barras boys can't do enough. The Sunday Greek night is cracking too.
First time we stayed we got one of the 2 bed apartments over looking Silver Star.....great for people watching with a cold balcony beer from the fridge!
-
We have been going to SS twice a year for more than 20 years like many others and last year was the first time we had ever had a meal in Barras.
It certainly won’t be the last we enjoyed everything about it.
-
It looks ideal for children, Gav. They all seem to love children in San Stef. I love a bit of people watching, especially when they are wandering home from a night out! ;D

Yes we've eaten there and it was very good Maggie :)
-
We went to their Greek night for the first time last year, it was really good, wee lad on the bouzouki was amazing. Hospitality was outstanding, as was the food and beer, defo heading back again.

Yes, they always look a lot of fun, Winkie :)

I can’t really say why we hadn’t eaten there because we always stop and chat whenever we walk past anyway, and he always laughs ‘Laundry day’ when we pasdwith the familiar white carrier bag. :)

That's the lovely thing, everyone chats to you, whether you go into their shop/restaurant or not

It is the friendliest place you could ever visit really.

I've never known anywhere quite like it! :)

Couldn’t agree more Karen, and we found it by accident.

After missing out last year mainly due to illness in the family, were back from 31st August for 10 days.
As usual we are staying in the Vagelis Apartments behind the Nafsika.
Couldn't get our usual the two-bedroomed villa so Vagelis has given us his house which he and his family use in the winter. All his villas are pretty good but with this being the family home, its a bit more luxurious and with the bonus that were even nearer the Nafsika pool!
So looking forward to it, for me its not just a holiday , its like coming home.
-
Steven, sorry to hear of your family illness... So that sounds a great place to stay. I remember Vagelis working at Nafsika, nice man. :)

I stayed in the Barras for a week in May, George and Stelious? couldn't do enough for me. I also eat there at least a couple of times each time I'm over, especially love their roast beef dinner with glass of wine on a Sunday whilst watching the footie. Happy days....

Reading through the threads really puts me right back walking through the village.
Roll on May.

Maggie , question about little Prince. Are the shower cubicles quite roomy, hubby is well built and struggles in a small one. I understand they have new rooms, maybe they have the larger ones. Would it be a good idea to email ahead to request this, I know there are no guarantees :)
-
The showers are quite big and modern. No problem.

Karen these things are very important aren’t they.
They really are. John has Parkinsons, so has mobility issues too, so it is very important what facilities are available to us :)

The older you get the more important they become, you need to be comfortable and feel safe.

Hi Karen we don’t arrive until the week after you go home
Ah shame :)
-
We would definitely have booked by now normally but due to family commitments not sure whether we will be able to. Hate the thought of not being able to make it this year but have to wait and see - never say never. Anyway on a brighter note we have had giant beans today for lunch and really enjoyed them - little reminder of San Stefanos :)
-
I love those beans.
Fingers cross things go the right way for you and you can come.
-
Thank you Maggie :)
-
Another question for Little Princers, do they have saved in the rooms?
-
If you mean safes, indeedly they do, but at extra cost, as is aircon.

Had an email from TUI today telling me our long booked flight from Cardiff on 11th May has been cancelled and switching us to Bristol but with poor flight times.
We don’t want Bristol especially landing at 22.15. so we have been switched to Cardiff on 8th.Not very good flight return time again but there was little choice, other than to cancel.
-
That's a pain. If we have a late arrival we usually book a nearby hotel and overnight on return. I don't fancy an hour's drive at 11:30 at night now I'm an old fart. The two hour time difference makes it very late. Last autumn we had to fly from Birmingham, which is about three hours by car, but got a very good deal including parking, and the hotel was excellent value and had a bar that stayed open until midnight.
-
Yes we may well be doing that.
We have been spoiled really over the past couple of years when the Monday flight started from Cardiff.
-
Its the blasé way travel company's do this. Holidays, trains, planes etc. that really gets to me, like your hard earned break isn't important.
-
Yes it is a sort of take it or leave it attitude, and they send you a darned feed back form asking if you felt you were treated as a valued customer.
I know there are a lot of things in play but the traveller seems to come low down the list of priorities.
-
Considering the number of flights we have made with Ryanair (a company I really do not like), Jet2 and Easyjet (yes, we always go cheap where possible), not once have they cancelled or changed their flight times. Amazing! As for flight times, that's one area whereby we will pay any amount to fly decent times going and return.
-
Yes there are good deals where there is a choice at your airport of preference. We live about 60 miles from Cardiff and that is our nearest airport and TUI have the monopoly there to Corfu.
We land back at 9.0pm so not too bad but our original flight arrived atv13.40-ideal.
-
Not great Maggie. As from last year, TUI changed our Friday lunchtime flight to Monday 18.00 flight, so late into resort and going home we leave resort at 20.00, hoping we can keep a room at Little Prince, on our last day!
-
Annoying isn’t it Karen.
They waited until I had paid the holiday balance of course. >:(
-
Karen - Little Prince has a shower and loo available for late departures.

Thanks Jim! I was hoping to keep a room, as we did at silver moon last year, perhaps won't be possible, I can only ask. :)

Smile sweetly at Mixalis, tell him and Anna how lovely it's been and if they're not at 100% you might get lucky...

So our dear friends have now booked their holiday, 26th June and got into the only apartments that were left...Little Prince..so same as us. Sounds like it is going to be a busy couple of weeks. But as I mentioned before, there is supposedly a big Scottish Wedding during that time, which is why everywhere is booked. 8)

Just in time then Karen, well done them.
