I can see Spiros pottering around the pool. Looks like they are cutting trees down along side of the pool.

I can see what looks like an old goat ..... :)

Haha! Missed that :)
-
I think Spiros would be upset by that. He thinks of himself as more of a satyr than a goat!
-
Ah! I see they were his goats then?
I'm not really too sure they were not sheep (there were 2 behind Kamini yesterday), but do recall one year being awoke by a baby goat shouting outside our window at Anatolli. It's mother was tied up 20m away...
Not looking too good there today.
-
I have seen goats on the webcam over the road. Yes, it looks a bit cloudy today!

Ooh! Looks a beautiful day there today 8)

Can someone remind me where to find the Nafsika webcam, got a new laptop. Thank you.

Thank you Karen.

A bit of a different day today! Forecast looks a little wet, still quite a few degrees C above our 2c here (real feel apparently -7c), but we do have sunshine - for now...
-
Thank you Karen.
You're welcome :)
-
Well what looked like heavy rain yesterday or overnight, there seems to be an abundance of yellow flowers further up from the Manthos carpark. At first I thought there was bare patches in the grass behind the Kamini bar, but now think that's an abundance of white flowers! Perhaps Lesley can confirm spring has arrived in AS?
-
Hello from Avliotes - we had fresh snowfall over on the Albanian peaks and the wind today is blowing this way so a chilly 6c at 11.00 am here. I have just 1 very lonely daffodil so far in our garden - Happy St. David's Day and Kalo Mina - March already so not long now until the start of the Summer Season. Is it Spring? Well we do have a lovely abundance of Almond blossom in the garden but its certainly not shorts and tee shirt weather yet. Heating on this morning although the sun keeps trying to peep through but quite a lot of cloud today too. Some of the wild flowers are popping up as we have seen on a drive out to Arillas.
Wishing everyone Kalo Mina - A happy month of March :) :D 8)
-
Thank you Lesley and Dydd Gwyl Dewi Hapus to you and everyone.
We have had rain, hail, snow and gale force winds yet we see people in shorts!
-
If you have the chance - watch the web cam today as here it is Clean Monday so you should see people flying kites on the beach and hillside as per tradition. Today is a Public & Religious Holiday in Greece and marks the start of Lent so the menu on tables will be taramasalata, octopus, prawns and other non meat dishes eaten with flat bread known as Lagana and the famous Greek Halvas. It's rather breezy too so will help the kite flyers......
-
Thank you for the tip, sounds lovely-wish I was there.
-
I see some of the summer menu is on display on the grass around the Manthos carpark…. :)
-
Do you mean the white board on a pole at the edge of the little cliff? It says "Parking only for Manthos customers."

No Jimbo, there were 3-4 sheep (or old goats) on there this morning.

Normally look in the morning, but captured this linked picture view (https://drive.google.com/open?id=19V0Nu2d-sALOMbVKBIfZHJy948Jxe-VL) just now.

Beautiful :)
-
Too busy looking at the lovely deep blue sky to notice the pool is almost empty.... Rare to see activity, there were two (what looked like) young people walking past just before.
-
It makes we very sad looking at the pool. Should have been there in July, but little chance now.

Oh dear Jim. Been into TUI shop today and as we are due to fly on 29 th June we can transfer our deposit to next year at no extra charge.
-
We have already booked for next May so if we get a refund or rather when we will have next year’s money already and waiting.
-
Have now changed our holiday to next year, have posted some info on other thread.
-
It’s great to have that webcam there and see that beautiful blue (warm looking) sky! And now there is a lovely looking blue swimming pool, not too sure who that is in there painting it....
Something to look forward to folks and it will happen!

Hello to everyone. Looks like a beautiful day in San Stef today looking at the Nafsika webcam. I have to look every day - it's like a magnet I haven't been able to get the other webcam to work on my laptop for ages. Doesn't look likely we will make it this year but hopefully it will be possible next year.
-
Hello Diane! Yes I look longingly, every day. The beach webcam hasn't worked for some time. We've changed our holiday until next year now.
-
Hi Diane, I've not tried this forum webcam for some time, but just for you.... I did and it has a stunning picture at the moment, so worth a view. Try the link right at the top of this page you are on now, right hand side third along after "Contact us" it should work, hopefully it should work - enjoy!
-

Oh its back on! Thank you for that. Looks beautiful!
-
Well that worked. Cheers
-
Geordieborn thank you so much for that :) :)
-
There seems to be bit of activity going on at the Nafsika pool this morning.
A couple of workmen under the watchful eye of Spero are working on the Pergola that was built over the well last year, looks like they might be tiling the floor? Pool is still empty though but hopefully that will be getting filled soon, if and when the respective governments give the go-ahead to the tour operators to start flying again.
I remain in hope for some sort of season from July or August but realistically its looking like 2020 will be a write off unfortunately :(
-
Spiros is installing a plan floor in the pergola, which previously was rather rough concrete.
I saw them this morning as well - they were aided by Marley!
-

The fact that Spiros is spending money on the hotel makes me think he's hopeful of having the hotel up and running for perhaps the latter part of the season.
We will just have to wait and see what the next couple of months bring I suppose
-
He bought the flooring last year and showed it to us. I know from conversations that according to the contracts with hotels, if TUI send two people they have to open, with all associated costs.
What you can safely bet is that, if flight costs go up, the price to TUI of the hotels will not.
-
Looks quite windy today and I can see a couple of people, surfing with the kites, on the sea :)
-

Yes, it indeed looked very windy this morning. Not had time to look since due to the good weather here keeping me in the garden all day....!
-
Lovely deep blue sky there in AS today, but it seems surreal with the empty street and beach!
-
I find today's images very poignant: the clouds, the empty swimming pool, the still sea with no swimmers, the lack of activity.
Normally, the pool would be full and blue and sunbeds would be by the trees for shelter from the afternoon sun; the tables would be out in Manthos; somebody would be reading a book in the Nafsika pergola and occasionally a swimmer would turn on the right-hand end of the Nafsika pool.
What sadness!
-
Oh dear Jim, yes it is a sad sight...
-
Just realised that a year ago today I had just polished off a portion of Spag Bols in town Pizza and was heading down to watch footie in the Barras. Changed days....
-
Looking at bit hazy there today, no doubt that warm haze.... Mind you the weather site indicates only 22c ! I see the pool has a new diving board - step-ladders!

Yesterday it was warm around 27c and today we expect 29c. Rather warm for May but at least my tan is coming along nicely. Should be a clear sky today......

Dry but very very fresh here in south wales. Temperature due to fall to freezing tonight. brrrrrrr.

Haha, Lesley is teasing us!
-
Can't believe the weather is so good. We should be there now. Should have arrived Sunday. Would have been in Nafsika last night having catch of the day ,mmm delicious, but not to be this year. Take care everybody and dream of next visit.
-

What a change from this time last year Lesley when I was trying to avoid hailstones the size of golf balls!!
-
Yes the weather last May was unusually cooler and this May unusually warm. Some areas expect a mini heatwave this weekend with the TV forecaster's advising temps reaching 35c. This probably will be further South in Greece such as Crete and also the mainland Peloponese area. Corfu will possibly reach between 29c - 31c.
If you look today so far it is very hazy, the clouds overhead full of Sahara Dust so very murky looking.
Yes last year at work I even wore my Ugg Boots. Today at home it's flip flops.
Wishing All a lovely Thursday 8) 8)
-
Yes Lesley it is warning here on Accuweather (https://www.accuweather.com/en/gr/mathraki/2281320/may-weather/2281320) about high temps. from tomorrow. 28c yesterday and we are not half way through May... Mind you much more than 30c and I'm in the shade these days.... Days of 35-40+ for months on end and it puts you off the heat. Still a little more of it in the nice sunshine here would go down well. 6c here, but the real feel at least is above that at 11c....
-
Looking very sultry there in AS at the moment, 31c according to the forecast just now - what a difference!
-
Nice to see on the webcam the local people taking advantage of the good weather there. Quite a few cars on the beach and little groups under their umbrellas but all acknowledging the social distancing rules. Must be quite a treat to have the beach to themselves.

Oh it looks fantastic! Wish we were there 8)
-
Great to have the beach cam back ! Looking superb.
-
Did you see the video of Thessaloniki beach on the BBC yesterday? Thousands packed like sardines. Zero social distancing. I thought it was an ominous sight.
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-52686519 (https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-52686519)
-
I wonder if the new norm will be a white patch of skin around your face :)
-
I suppose it would match my arse!
-
Even more cars and people on the beach this afternoon but there's plenty of room for everyone. Wonder if any of the beach tavernas are open they could be making a euro or two.
-
El Greco is open for take out coffee's and refreshments, I noticed the other day I was over in Agios Stefanos The opening of tavernas with outdoor areas was originally planned for June 1st but we believe may 'possibly' now be brought forward to May 25th. The P.M. will be making an update tomorrow May 18th. Of course with Social Distancing between tables and a minimum number of persons per table. Only outdoor areas of such were so far mentioned...... we may know more after tomorrow evening's TV update from the Government.
Churches also opened with Social Distancing of course.......
-
32c and an empty beach.... We have 15c and rain starting in 7 minutes !!!
-
Hi, Im new on here but have been visiting San Stefanos for 20 years. It's torture looking at the beach, Im still hoping we might still be able to come in August as planned. My favourite place in the world x

Hello and welcome to the forums! Well things are certainly looking better. I think it's more about what will be happening in the UK than in holiday destinations. Let's hope people get away for their holidays :)
-
Nafsika webcam not working and the beach webcam shows no one on the beach....
-
Perhaps they have not paid their bill.... It has been off all day, but that has happened before. I did see a couple of cars on the beach, but no people! I hope you all had the glorious day we've had? One thing to be said about the few nice days we get, it makes you appreciate them all the more!
-
Haha! Yes we too have had a beautiful day. Got lots of gardening done and had a couple of cold Corona beers!

Yes it's odd we are only a few degrees different today ... Make the most of it!
-
I love this weather and loving our garden, not the same as being in San Stef, but we are happy in the knowledge that we aren't risking airports and flying. If we were younger and fitter, we would go, if we were allowed :)
-
Oh dear still no cam....
We too are loving the garden, lots to do this time of year and great watching the way the plants already out are shooting away!
-
The webcam shows the beach looks beautiful today-but so sad with not a soul on it! :'(
-
Yes but at least we can pop in on the cam now and then and look at the lovely view....
-
There are people surfing on the sea with those parachute type things, it looks quite windy and the tide is in quite a way :)
-
Good to see someone enjoying it!
-
Still no NafCam, but the beach cam, although a bit blurred, has some wonderful colours of the AS we know - sun just set!
-
Missing the Nafsika webcam too - usually have to look at least once a day but lucky to be able to look at beach webcam. Totally addicted Hopefully we will all be able to go back one day - we need to stay positive :)
-
On Facebook, Spiros says that he's having problems after upgrading his connection for higher speeds. He's waiting for his router to be adjusted, and urges patience as "nothing moves fast in Greece."

Not the best of ad then, but I'm guessing it is at the Nafsika end from what Jimbo said "piano, piano"....
-
Needs another shilling in the meter!!
-
... ah still no working cams, good job it is hot and sunny here so we can all pretend.... :)
-
Please can we have our beach webcam back :)
-
Please can we have our beach webcam back
What they need is the webcam in a box with a sliding glass front, then a second clean glass front can be put in. It must be a big pain in the Jimbo to have to clean it all the time. I'm sure we all still have some of that sand in our cases, it gets everywhere....

Haha! Yes that would be a good idea. I always think I have cleaned my case out, but when I open it, there's always some still in there. Think I'll go and have a little look in there, for old time's sake! ;D
-
Beach cam looking superb today..... Some very interesting dark clouds! But lots of lovely blue sky too!

Probably Dimitris. I can't see Noula climbing up on the roof of Waves!

Haha! No one on the beach, at the moment.
-
We had a great thunder and lightning storm overnight last night being Saturday through to early today Sunday morning and loads of much needed rain - the gardens are happy!!! Awoke today to blue skies but a soggy BBQ area so the prepped kebabs (in the fridge in their marinade overnight) went in the oven instead - now we have a mix of weather late afternoon - some blue spells and sunshine but grey clouds blowing backwards and forwards between Albania and NW Corfu - forecast shows rain for tomorrrow but that could easily be tonight again - we wait and see. Quite mild though around 23c - believe you guys may have a better temperature over in the UK...... Enjoy your Sunday 8)
-
Hello Lesley. That would account for the beach being empty then! It's lovely here, about 23 degrees and little cloud. The garden is desperate for water though. Have a good day :)
-
To access the now-working Nafsika webcam go to: https://nafsika-hotel.click2stream.com/ (https://nafsika-hotel.click2stream.com/)
Click the play icon. There's a short add, then click "Continue"
It's now a real-time mp4/5 .265 stream, and you can see the waves rolling in without a jerk. Opla!
-
Wow!, thanks Jimbo, great to see it back online, looks superb.
-
Thanks Jimbo I have been trying to access web cam with no luck :)
-
Thanks Jimbo need the webcam to keep me going I have missed it.
-
Thanks Jimbo, it looks superb. For those using Firefox as their browser, you can click on the "picture in picture" icon you get when you hover over the video and have a little version of it sit in the bottom right of your screen as you do other things on-line... no idea what people get up to....
The old man just needs to update his other on-line stuff such as his Nafsika Hotel website now :)
-
It's really nice. You can see people walking along the beach - not jumping 30 yards at a time. The resolution is not quite as good as the still-sequence before, but overall it helps you to feel you're really there. Send Spiros a mail to say thanks!
-
Nice to see the pool is nearly full and tables at Manthos are out. Super clear day there, but the temperature is still not too high. Just about right for us, but unfortunately not to be for this year...
-
Thanks Jim! Great to see it back!
-
Can't take my eyes off it! It looks lovely, wish we were there 8)
-
Looks like there's some activity in Manthos, tourists maybe??
-
Difficult to see if there's any water on the Nafsica pool from the angle of the shot. Is it filling up then?
-
Yep, you could see ripples in the shallow end this morning, so there must be quite a bit in there already. Nice to see it's a warm 27c just now....
-
Lovely to watch the sun go down....
-
If you zoom in it looks like those "ripples" in the shallow end have been painted on the bottom of the pool
-
If you zoom in it looks like those "ripples" in the shallow end have been painted on the bottom of the pool
You are correct, even without the zoom!
-
Thanks Jimbo :)
-
That's it - I won't be getting any of my jobs done I am hooked - can't stop looking at the webcam it is brilliant now :)
-
My iPad Nafsika link is showing page not found. Would anyone be able to put a link on the forum please?
-
I did. Go to https://nafsika-hotel.click2stream.com/ (https://nafsika-hotel.click2stream.com/) click play wait for voice then click Continue...
As I write, Spiros is having a barbecue round the pool.
-
Yes, loads of activity and lovely sun down!
-
Many thanks Jimbo. Much appreciated
-
Interesting lights on at Nafsika, but not Manthos.... Not sure what those lights are up the road, don't seem as far as Fantasea...
-
The strap at the bottom of the page takes up too much room and could be better if smaller.
-
Click full-screen!
-
Doesn't give you what would be under the strap, just enlarges above the strap.
-
There's nothing "under the strap." What's above it is the video.
-
The old view used to show a bit more of the pool and I agree it was a bit better when you could see more pool.
-
I suspect it's slightly moved during the upgrade, it does not take much...
-

Me too Gillie!

Yes, it's only a bit and it is just great to see Nafsika and the beach and sky again!

That's probably why the beach cam looks a bit blurred :)
-
Great sunset at the moment!
-
What a great sight to get back to after a day ripping up floor boarding.... Looks like the wind has abated, can almost feel the warmth!
-
Great sunset at the moment!
Goodness me, that's very bright!
-
Yes it was rather breezy yesterday (Sunday) but lovely and warm - warm enough for a BBQ. By the evening though we had to sit inside as everything that wasn't bolted down was blown away....... Today it has blown itself out and we have a bright blue sky and warm. Wishing all a lovely Monday x
-
Sounds lovely, Lesley!Have a lovely day. It is supposed to hit 30 degrees here, this week 8)

Hi all hope everyone's safe and well, I am trying to open the link on my old I-pad and I can't get it to open, black screen only, any ideas anyone? I am missing the view🤔

Swedebasher has said what you should be seeing, if you do indeed have a blank screen then I suspect it is you browser/device. You could try updating the browser, but knowing Apple (and why I never use them) it's likely they have stopped support.
-
Another lovely looking day there in AS, as indeed it is here! A lot more activity with people at Nafsika, Manthos and Anatoli Apartments...
-
If it's a ten-year old iPad it may not support MP4 video, which is now pretty much standard.
-
How do you say in Greek "Spit on the lens and give it a quick wipe willya" ;D
-
Bugger-posted on wrong webcam thread-this was meant for the Waves webcam!

Poor Dimitris has to come from Arillas to get on the Waves roof! Spiros has cleaned the Nafsika camera.

The view from Nafsika this morning is stunning, a perfect San Stefanos morning. 8 weeks today we should be on our way, still hopeful 8) 8)

With that forum name you are going to need something to cheer you up this morning! This time of day it seems to often have that clear deep blue’s look – wonderful, but also surreal being so empty!

Anyone else had a look at the cam tonight? Could it be they still have fire flies just now as something has shot across the cam several time. Looked a bit like a shooting star the first one I spotted, but then seen a few more and they were definitely some very bright critter…

Yes I noticed that too. Saw Spiros pottering around the pool today, still can't see any water. I suppose he will wait nearer to when he opens up.
-
The pool is full!

Hurrah!
-
It's been full for a while. But it's so clear one could easily think it's just the paint. Look at the ladder on the right - when it was empty you could see all the rungs.

Nafsika Hotel no longer shown on TUI website
-
It's showing for 2021.
-
Is Spiros taking independent bookings maybe?
-
They may be full. Usually are!
-
They may be full. Usually are!
Could be Jim, but this year is different, many of us have chosen not to go.
-
Thomas Bay isnt showing either ?
-

I think someone said it was not opening, have you been celebrating the footie too much. Or was it the wake... :'(
-
Could be Jim, but this year is different, many of us have chosen not to go.
Yes - but many people changed summer to autumn, I think. Nafsika's not very big and very popular. But then again, the TUI website operates strange algorithms to focus sales attention on areas with fewer sales - and also wants the planes to be full.
-
Oh my, just look at that place this morning, so so beautiful, just pulling at my heart strings .
-
Oh my, just look at that place this morning, so so beautiful, just pulling at my heart strings .
Mine too Winkie :)
-
Thomas Bay and Nafsika were both available on TUI until recently. A colleague of mine has booked with TUI for Corfu in August and was told last week her hotel will now not be opening so shes waiting to hear whats happening now. I wonder if TUI have given their hotels strict measurements re social distancing, safety, hygiene etc and some of them dont want or cant afford to fund for the sake of half a season so have decided not to open ?

I think it has been hinted, consolidation makes sense. Well it does for them whereby they have a short season and don’t know what’s ahead. Other pandemics have spread over 2-3 years, but hopefully we will see some breakthrough for this one. So they are likely making money where they can by (as Lesley has said) getting full plane, likely to resorts where they can bus many people in and the accommodation can cope with whatever it has to for c19. Some people will take whatever they can get, at whatever price and under difficult circumstances to get away. We’ve kind of sickened ourselves of air travel in recent years, as much the airports as the flights and having even more disruption is just not worth it for us. Mind you it again looks lovely on the webcam, I think I would prefer it that quiet as well - but sure the people there would like more folks. :-\
-
That's a good point Everton, I'm sure you're right about TUI, they have to protect their clients.

Yes Geordie, we're the same. There will have to be many restrictions, understandably and I don't feel I could relax in that situation, I'm nervous enough going to the supermarket!
-
Heard that Nafsika are not opening this year, seems odd that they are filling up the pool, it's half full, but maybe they will stop now if they've decided not to open
-
I've emailed Spiros to ask him if it is true. I will report response if I get one.
It's obviously far more difficult for half-board places, since they are obliged to serve meals, and that means a bigger staff. Apartment blocks just need cleaners.
-
Just been on tv that Greece is not opening for Brit s until at least middle of July.
-
I can't say that I'm surprised. But it may be revised later. Or not.
-
I can't say that I'm surprised. But it may be revised later. Or not.
Yes, who knows, Jim! Depends on our infection rate, of course.
-
Well, at least we all seem to look at the webcam and agree it's a lovely place to go to - hope somewhere then?
-

Yes looks very inviting doesn't it!
-
Beautiful morning today (July 2nd) with completely still sea. I saw two dogs, the black Labrador that's adopted Beachcomber and a white dog, gambolling in the sea and running about on the beach. Oh how sad to view that weather and sand going to waste!
-
All too true Jimbo, but we do have broiling mists rolling over the hills here and a dank sodden garden wherein you get a soaking after just 2m to visit the veg plot. The latter by the way in which some plants (and weeds) love this weather and others that sadly stall in it.
-
Just been looking at the Nafsika webcam (AGAIN) and saw what looked like a coach but it could have been a bus? :-\
-
Just been looking at the Nafsika webcam (AGAIN) and saw what looked like a coach but it could have been a bus? :-\
Possibly the local bus, Diane. I don't think there are any coaches about at the moment :)
-
Oh ok Karen thanks ;)
-
Have just found it. Looks lovely but very quiet.
-
Looks like Nafsika is setting up for an outdoor event 🤹🏼♀️

It does Trevor!
-
From the position of the chairs, and the fact that the pool is full again, it must be naked high-diving from the second floor!
-
Some of those chairs were out there yesterday, more today. I just assumed it was cleaning time!
Another lovely day and brollies going out at the Waves (?).
-

Received confirmation via Paul Villa on Facebook that Nafsika is not opening this summer. Spiros may open Bar One from time to time. Very sad.

Thanks Jim..yes very sad...
-
A real indication things are getting hot there, outside Manthos the car with the sun cover over the windscreen. You can just feel the heat ;D
-
There are kids in the pool....wow. First activity I've seen.
-
Speros has confirmed on his Facebook page that the Nafsika wont be opening this year.
A wise decision as the health and well-being of his family, especially his elderly mum Theodora, will be his main priority in these difficult times.
Here's to next year!
-
Spiros did say that he might open the pool bar. He was there yesterday, and the bar door was open, so he's probably doing it by himself.
-
Best wishes to Spiros and his family and I don't blame him for not opening this year.
-
Sunbathing around the pool.
-
Is the Nafsika webcam off again Im just getting a black screen ??
-
Working fine for me now, taken a little longer to load. Looks amazing this morning, oh to be there 8).
-
Nafsika webcam not working for me today :(
-
Nafsika webcam not working for me today :(
Me neither...or the beach cam
-
Nor me
-
I think the electric was off the other day so maybe thats arsed everything up ??
-
Not had a chance to look today, but just done so now, might be dark there, but the cam is working. It did blip a couple of times for me yesterday, but I just tried it a bit later and it was fine. Wonder if it matters what browser you are using as I've been flipping between Firefox and Chrome. Firefox just now was okay. Not sen the beach cam up for a few days now
-
Not working this morning :'(.
-
It's back!
-
Its back on and its beautiful but still so quiet
-
Ah, yes, sooper dooper :D. Tables and chairs being given a clean, just saw an elderly lady with a walking stick go around the pool, lots of activity now.
-
Spiros is wearing a yellow T-shirt instead of his usual red, and I saw old Manthos going into - err - Manthos, probably to blag lunch and a few ciggies. Nice waves rolling in on an empty beach.
We should be at the start of our second week there, out of three. What a bummer! At least it's a sunny day in Hull...
-

That might be Theodora, Spiro's lovely Mum.

The beach looks quiet today.
-
The beach looks quiet today.
I thought so Trevor!
-
The beach webcam isn't working, but I guess there would be more people down there :)
-
Yes - the bit of the beach visible on the webcam is always quiet. That's why we always camp at Mistral.
-

Well, looks lovely there Jim :)
-
Can I ask a dumb question-if Nafsika isn't open why are there people in the pool on the webcam? (It looks a beautiful day on the beach BTW!!)
-

They are possibly friends of Spiros :)
-
To be honest, after going to the trouble of filling the pool, I’d be surprised if people were not using it! A beautiful day indeed, but somewhat windy by the looks of it, pool is probably the place to be - would have to be a hot tub here.
-
I believe the pool is open, and Spiros is providing drinks.

That's great Jim :)

Not so sure if the pool in is open to the general public but i understand Spero's niece and family may be over from New York. They are always over around this time.
There were certainly a few pool photos posted on the Nafsika FB page so its probably the family using the pool.
-
Spiros did say that he might open the pool bar from time to time.
-
Well it's good to see it being used 8)
-
Not working for us this morning :'( :'( :'(, yesterday, the view was fabulous, the pool in use, and the road was busy with quads and cars. Oh, we just want to be there.
-
Not working for us either today :(
-
It was on earlier today, but off-line now. It's a bit random at the moment.
-
Looking like it may get a bit rough there just now.... I see from the map the mainland has a storm or two going, Albania too...
-
Looking fabulous this morning, beautiful view, the sea looks so inviting too.

Just tried and it loaded okay for me. Sometimes I have to try it 2-3 times before it loads. Beach cam is also nice and clear 8)

What a day, both here and there in AS..... :'( ! Beach cam view is superb, cars apart...
-
Just look at those waves gently lapping the shore, stunning morning again.
-
Yep Winkie it has been looking amazingly clear the last few days, and of course the cars are missing from the Nafsika cam... ;D
-

Haha! I would be down that end of the beach! Looks beautiful and peaceful.
-
Looking a little cloudy this morning, the road is busy too, just watched the fruit and veg van doing his rounds up past the church, and folks walking down to the beach, wish it were us :(.
-
... forecast for possible thunderstorm today, cam was off for me just now, perhaps they switched off to be safe...
-
...no, it just came on, it does look busy, and it's quite sunny!
-
Looking a great day there today. Some awful floods in Greece yesterday, I assume the storm missed Corfu?
-
Agree GB, looks glorious there this morning 8). We woke up to haar and low cloud here at home :(.
-
What's what Winkie?
-
Same here Winkie until a few moments ago, sun is now out and it looks like we may have a lovely, if somewhat cool, day!
-
What's what Winkie?
Hello lovely lady, hope you are well. I,m guessing you are asking what is haar?, it is a rolling fog, comes toppling down from the local hills here.
-
Beautiful day here in the fens :)

Hope everyone had the beautiful day we had here in the UK today!

Yes we did here in North Staffs, Geordie! All set to get colder on Wed. though, according to BBC.
-
Wow spectacular storm going on!
-
Hailstones overnight - sun out this morning and sky much clearer.....
-
Looks lovely this morning, compared to our cloudy and cold start.
-
- 3 here in sunny Scotland, winter approaching fast. Oh to be lying on that beach right now 8).
-
Fingers crossed for a vaccine!!!!!
-
Fingers crossed for a vaccine!!!!!
Yes!
-
Looks dull and overcast this morning, and the waves pretty rough too, hopefully pick up soon for those still there.
-
Yes I noticed that Winkie, looks like the tide is right in at Havana :)
-
Looks a little breezy there today, watched a couple of blokes climb on to the roof at Manthos, possible repairs.
-

-
Sea looks a bit choppy today :)
-
Trees are blowing and there are kite-surfers in the bay...
-
Clear blue sky & the sun is out - looking good today.....
-
Oh to be there, looks fabulous, although the pool looks a little off colour.
-
Oh to be there, looks fabulous, although the pool looks a little off colour.
Yes I was thinking that.
-
Looking good this morning
-
Pool water dreadfully green with algae, guess they haven't been dosing it as hotel shut.
-
Looking fabulous today, very calm sea, and all appears to be quiet as our favourite place gradually closes down for the season.
-

Yes, Winkie, it looks beautiful today :)
-
How dead does the old village look today. No cars on the road, nobody about. Eerie.
-
Had a peek last night, total darkness, guess Manthos now closed too.
-
Yeah and either Nafsica has emptied the pool or the water has gone a funny colour. :)
-
Just look at that blue sky today :o :o :o, and the green pool :(. Still a few peeps going about too.
-
Just look at that blue sky today :o :o :o, and the green pool :(. Still a few peeps going about too.
I'm guessing the pump or filtering system that keeps the Nafsika pool clean will have been switched off a few weeks back. Its been sad seeing the Nafsika shut this season and really hoping we can all get back to some sort of normality and Spiros can re-open the hotel next summer.
-
Let's hope so Steven, I think it's going to be a long hard winter ahead...
-
Something's gone wrong with this topic. Maybe posting this will cure it!
-
It did!
-
Overcast this morning, and looks a wee bitty breezy, oh to be there still. Got a touch of frost here at home, there goes my bizzie lizzies :(.
-
Looks wet today, much like here really 8)
-
Sun's back out for the weekend.......
-
Just look at that sky, glorious this morning.
-
Looks lovely Winkie :)
-
Barely a cloud in the sky this morning, simply stunning.
-
Oh it is, Winkie :)
-
and again today, so off for a coffee later over in resort...... Happy Tuesday to All x 8)
-
Looks very nice this morning .
-
Weather gorgeous today but that pool is seriously green. Takes some cleaning that.
-
It is another beautiful day here in NW Corfu - walk along the beach as no one is using a pool - the sea will be warmer ..........
-
Another beautiful morning there, and again, the sky is so blue.
-
Another beautiful morning there, and again, the sky is so blue.
Yes, it's lovely Winkie :)
-
What a beautiful morning, even this time of the year it would be a lot better than the UK.
Perhaps the season could start earlier next year.
-
Direct Flights normally start from a couple of UK hubs as well as other European ones from the end of March and go through to around 10th November. Remember too Greek Easter falls on May 2nd for 2021........
-
Looks so peaceful this morning, and that blue sky !!!!!! 8)
-
How lovely does the sea look. Pool will take some cleaning next year. I love looking at the waves very relaxing.. really hope we get next year.
-
It's hard to tell from the angle we're looking at but is the pool empty?
-
It's hard to tell from the angle we're looking at but is the pool empty?
Yes it is difficult to tell... :)
-
It's hard to tell from the angle we're looking at but is the pool empty?
There still is and certainly was a few days back as I was able to see a few ripples reflected by the sun when it was low in the sky. It's just that dark green due to the filtering system being switched off. Spiro usually empty's, cleans and refills the pool in the early spring before the first guests arrive, so not to worry, all being well he will have it back to its clear and sparking best in time for us returning next summer when COVID will be a nasty memory in the past ... here's hoping!
-
So clear tonight, the lights on Manthraki ? are visible :o
-
I think so Winkie. Evenings are always a special time there what with the sunsets and the lights over the islands.......love it. Too much light pollution here to enjoy the night sky though.
-
Cloud formations this morning are stunning, so peaceful in that part of the village.
-
Cloudy looking this morning, still a few folks about too :).
-
so the water is still in the pool.......yuk. Nice there today compared to what we have in south Wales.
-
Stunning day there today 8)
-
Stunning day there today 8)
Stunning day also here in South Devon.
-
Not too bad here in North Staffs either! Will be able to walk to my hair appointment at 5.30pm! Yes, you heard right - just managed to get in before Lockdown 2!
-
It's actually turned out lovely here now, in the fens :)
-
Got snow on the Scottish mountain tops ;D.
-
Got snow on the Scottish mountain tops ;D.
Ooh..love snow :)
-
Lovely here in south Wales sitting in our garden for a couple of hours enjoying the late autumn sun.
-
Little overcast there this morning, noticed tables etc all gone at Manthos, village all quiet now I guess.
-
Sun came out around 11.00 am - so a quick visit to the local Kafeneion to hear the Greek pm's speech - maybe our last time for another 3 weeks - now sat in the garden slightly overcast but 22c........
-
Lovely here again in south Wales. Did a bit of goodhousekeeping in the garden now having a whiff.
-
It looks like another beautiful day in San Stef. It's a lovely day here too but I would prefer to be strolling along the beach :)
-
Don't know if you would be allowed to walk along the beach from tomorrow when the new restrictions come in to place, maybe Lesley could enlighten us.
-
You can fill out paperwork or send a SMS for a walk with a pet or for excercise - close to your home. You would need to take your ID and wear a mask everywhere outdoors now. Last time as we live in Avliotes and not Agios Stefanos we were not permitted I know someone was fined - so we will stay in our village and not venture very far. We could go to Agios Stefanos, Sidari, Peroulades for shopping as we do not have a supermarket here only a minimarket again with ID/Paperwork and masks.
-
How will this impact the olive harvest??
-
There is a provision for this on said forms......... Lots of information on Greek Governments website with forms etc....
Fines for not complying have increased starting previously were 150 euros now 300 euros per person.........
-
What a lovely morning.
-
Yes sun shining with a clear blue sky and we expect around 22c later .....Happy Sunday to All x
-
Stunning view this morning, and not a soul to be seen, so different from a few weeks ago.
-
Yes it looks beautiful. Fingers crossed we can all return next year. :)
-
Another glorious looking morning, calm sea and just look at that blue sky, oh my days 8).
-
It does look glorious Winkie :)
-
Has Manthos purchased another car or is the blue now matching the black of the repaired wing?
You can see I have far too much time in this second lockdown to considers these things! Grey there today much like Cornwall.
-

It's been raining for nearly a week here in Wales...........lovely it is..........web feet we have............ used to it we are.......miserable it is.
-
It’s 30c here in Devon. I wouldn’t lie ????
-
Seems like Winter is here up the hill in Avliotes - heating went on as we reached the dizzy heights of just 12c yesterday and overnight a cool 7c. With the wind changing direction and blowing in from Albania you certainly felt the chill factor. Today rather grey although the rain has now eased. Happy Sunday to All x
-
Certainly looks a bitty cooler Lesley, a few folks around Manthos this morning, and looks like the man himself has a new car?.
-
Not a cloud in the sky this morning, stunningly beautiful.
-
I know Winkie I have to look most days it's like a drug ;D
-
Me to, like watching the sea at Nafsika everyday for a few minutes.
-
I see Manthos is selling his old blue car 500 euros. Anyone interested?
On the subject of Christmas films, the two I can't stand that seem to appear without fail every year are The Wizard of Oz and The Sound of Music.
My favourite film, though not a Christmas film, is "Zulu". The sight of thousands of Zulus lining up on those hills must have been a terrifying sight. The sound track on the film just adds to atmosphere.
"Dances with Wolves" comes a close second.
-
My late dad and I were watching his favourite film Zulu sometime in the 1970s when my dad said that my great, great grandfather was at Rorkes Drift. I said really and my dad said, he wasn't fighting. He was camping in a field next door and he went over to complain about the noise.
Boom boom.

It was the first film I watched at my small local cinema. I think I sneaked in actually.

Anyone looking today will see it is a typical Winter's Day here in Corfu - drizzle, breezy, cloudy and damp too. Happy Sunday it's just a cooler 14c midday up the hill and we expect a chilly 7c overnight here.....
-
A little overcast today it seems, and the sea looks so calm too, oh to be there :).
-
Up the hill it is rather breezy and cold with the wind coming from Albania - not even 2pm but had to put heating on, spots of rain with more on route - rather grey too......
-
Sea looks rough today, it's very windy and looks cold.
-
oh my, that looks bracing. Shiver!
-
It is 16'C
-
I see the Pool is topped up again. Is that just recent rainfall? We have had 430mm in Cornwall since the first week in October.
-
Big white horses crashing on the shoreline this morning, glorious to watch. Kernock, the pool not been emptied I believe, been that awful green colour since the season ended.
-
Not very good there today.
-
Not very good there today.
No looks like it's raining
-
It's Friday and it's been raining, windy and stormy almost all this week. Now at 6pm it's a heady 7c with a chill factor of just 3c - in fairness we have this weather during our Winter months here hence it is important to have some form of heating during the out of season times. It's still raining this evening and the forecast until Monday is for more rain until then...... Happy Friday & Weekend to All x
-
Morning Everyone, How many of you have a ritual of checking out the webcam every day to see how AS is doing? Wishing everyone a Happy Christmas and hopefully looking forward to a normal 2021 :)
-
Every morning Chrissie, it is a magical place for us, so many fabulous memories made there, and so many friendships have been formed there too. Fingers and toes crossed for a normal return for us all next season.
-
Me to, always have a look and watch the waves roll in. We hope we can get next year. We have lovely memories of being there over the years.
-
Every day.
-
Yes I have to look every day too. One step nearer to us getting back to this lovely and special place :)
-
Lovely bright blue sky and sun is out today here - Happy Monday x

Every morning Monday to Friday 1st thing when logging on to work, even before reading any work emails etc. Its the only thing that is keeping me going at the moment :(
-
That pool is going to need a serious clean before the spring......what a colour.
-
That pool is going to need a serious clean before the spring......what a colour.
Not to worry ... the pool gets emptied, cleaned and refilled in time for the summer opening in May. You will see a hive of activity around March/April next year.

-
We will all be glued to our screens then to watch the pool being made ready again - can't wait :D
Yes we will Diane :)
-
Another beautiful morning in the village, watched someone taking a stroll along the waters edge, so jealous. Done it many times, right up around the point and back, taking in the stunning views of the distant islands, there is just nowhere else like it.
-
Fabulous cloud formation today, bit dull, but wish I could be there.
-
It's raining there now. I guess that's what clouds are for!
-
Up the hill we had sleet in the rain earlier it is with the chill factor 5c. In fairness a typical early January day in Corfu...
-
Sunbeds out.
-
Sunbeds out.
Why??????
-
Sunbeds out.
Haha! Does Spiros know something we don't ... ;D
-
They've been out there for ages. Either Spiros hasn't bothered to take them in, or he's hinting at what might be in the summer.
Or both!
-

Oh let's hope they get used this year Jim!
-
The pool blending in nicely with the grass now :o.
-
Yuk
-
Raining today but milder.
-
Wow!, looks wild there today, loungers and chairs blown around the pool, trees and bushes heaving to and fro. Meanwhile, here at home, more snow has arrived :(.
-
Here in the English riviera it’s brilliant sunshine, sorry Winkie.
-
We're expecting snow tomorrow morning here in south Wales. Make a change from the rain though not good for already saturated ground (we have a lot of surface water here).
-
We had a little snow flurry yesterday, it's gone for the moment :)
-
Heavy snowfall in Staffordshire. Looks wonderful but going to have to take it easy when I take the dog out. He has had loads of fun in the garden today though ;D Stay safe everyone.
-
Nafsika pool loungers all set out, possibly been given a wee wash now drying. Looks so calm today, so wish I could be there, walking that beach :).

Yes, they are all lined up ready for the sunbathers ! :)
-
Lots of activity at Manthos, looks like an extension to the roof of the outside seating area.
-
Is the pool empty?
-
Is the pool empty?
No, doesn't look like it, I suppose he will soon have to sort it out....in the anticipation of opening up at some time..
-
Looks glorious there today. Can someone confirm, that the roof covering at Manthos outside eating area has been extended ?.
-
Lots of work going on at Manthos this morning. Weather looks a wee bitty overcast, but dry.
-
Doing the floor and other stuff I am told. Cement mixer in there yesterday.
-

Ah, thanks for the info SB, all systems go for the summer it appears. 8)
-
Looks like another glorious day 8), lots going on at Manthos today too, busy place.
-
Yes we have a bright, clear blue sky in the NW (up the hill) just a gentle breeze, not warm but certainly warmer than it has been. It around 9c now and will only drop to around 2c this evening.

Yes a milder one today as just a gentle breeze mostly clear sky although a few clouds blowing in now at lunchtime and if you find a sheltered place it's around 14c. Wishing you a lovely weekend x
-
:)
-
Have a good weekend Lesley. We are expecting 17° here in the South East, on Sunday 8)
-
We'll probably get 17 here in Wales as well, 9 in the morning and 8 in the afternoon. :)
-

Hahs ;D
-
Lovely day there today. Hardly a ripple on the sea, and good to see Manthos out for a stroll up and down outside the Taverna inspecting the work in progress and chatting to passers by. I almost felt I was there, I wish!
-

That just gave us a much needed laugh ;D
-
Looks like some building work going on at Manthos.
-
Looks like some building work going on at Manthos.
Yip, been ongoing for a good few days now TB.
-
Looks as though they have been working on the beach access steps and stepped terrace sunbathing area?
Many a barrow load of concrete has made its way there in the last few days. Two workmen can be seen levelling concrete via the beach / Manthos web cam . Hope to be sitting there later this year.👍🏼
-
Yes we reached 21c in our garden up the hill yesterday, best to stay home you don't need masks as we need this outside here as soon as we leave home - It's day 111 2nd time around here so lovely to have some warmth on these ole bones.....
-
Manthos - looks like the wall that ran along the edge of the restaurant overlooking the beach has gone.
-

6 degs here at home Lesley, bitter cold wind.
-
Manthos - looks like the wall that ran along the edge of the restaurant overlooking the beach has gone.
Shame. We have many photos of the family sitting on that wall with a Canna Lily and the setting sun in the background. No doubt it is progress and a lot seems to be going on at Manthos. Look forward to seeing it in late June.
-
Hope no-one falls over the edge after a few too many ouzos!
Manthos used to stand with one foot on the wall looking down at Mistral and Beachcomber no doubt doing a quick calculation of diners.
-
All quiet today, looks a little bitty overcast. Was busy yesterday, work ongoing at Manthos, and the new villa up next to Fedra Mare.
-
It looks to me as though they are fixing up the stairs down to the beach. I don't think they've removed all the wall.
-
Manthos - You are correct Jimbo, Andreas has put new steps to the beach, extended the dining area out and new floor down where it was cracked and uneven. I’m sure it will all look very smart when it is finished.
-
Wonder if they've considered improving the toilet facilities and perhaps installing some at the far end of the outside dining area. The indoor ones could do with an upgrade as well.
-

There are a few toilets in the village needing an upgrade Dupnica, been in some with no seats, no paper, and one with no flush handle, had to lift the lever to lower the ballcock lol, these were in restaurants.
-
Another stunning day in the village, just look at that sky 8).
-
Another stunning day in the village, just look at that sky 8).
Beautiful, Winkie!
-
Very deceiving - we have been indoors since 3pm with heating on. Very damp and cold at night still. But dry at least.... Only need 2 jumpers now during the bright daylight hours and our masks of course once outside our compounds for our exercise walks .....
-
Overcast there this morning, and the floor at Manthos looks to be all done, lots going on there yesterday.
-
Beautiful sunny day up the hill in the main village we sat outside (18c), supped wine and now indoors as getting damp at 6pm so better turn the heating on...... Happy Sunday.....
-
Should you drop in to the webcam today you may see people on the beach flying Kites as today we celebrate Clean Monday - our 1st day of Lent. Very breezy out there at the moment - so could be good for the kite flyers?
-
It's great that the two webcams give almost total coverage of the beach. Have a lovely Lent!
-
Much cooler today and bitter - now very windy, as we are not allowed to venture for kite flying further than 2kms on foot - we are home. No driving for kite flying - watch out electricity and telephone lines! Sadly no Carnival in the village (Avliotes today) and far too cold for outdoor mezes or Socially Distanced Picnics with families. For us it is indoors, prawns in oven, tarama and of course the Lenten bread known as Laganas. As we start Lent - ideally we should not eat meat or blood related food until our Easter which falls May 2nd this year. Happy Clean Monday All from NW Corfu x
-
Hailstones several times yesterday evening up the hill here and this morning a very thick covering of snow on the Albanian mountains opposite - indoors with the heating on.....
-
Better to stay home and keep warm Lesley.
I see on Facebook that a few of the diehards staged a little carnival procession on their own. You can't keep a good man down!
-
Rather blustery there this morning, bit like where we are at home, know where I,d rather be though.
-
Bright, Breezy & Bitter is my summary so far - its was just 4c earlier now around 7c...... Happy Wednesday
-
Yesterday was beautiful here, got the lawn cut! Today it's raining..
-
Lots going on at Manthos this morning, 6 guys earlier having a confab, no masks , no distancing, and hugging :o, appears they are building a partition of sorts, it is going to be so different looking this season I expect, many a great time spent there. The road too, seems to be busy, lots of cars heading to the harbour, wish I was ;D. Happy Sunday all 8).
-
A beautiful sunny day with very little wind - we expect 17c later up here in the village - off to the garden for my Vit D. Happy Sunday and also I believe it is Palm Sunday too over there.
-
I love to watch other people work. Looks like they're painting the outside blue this year it'll match the Church.
-
Pea soup is on the menu today at Nafsika!
-
Another beautiful morning by the looks of things, the blue sky is stunning 8).
-
Yes it is a lovely day, clear blue sky and just a slight breeze this morning - Happy Wednesday All x
-
Some lovely white horses there this morning, and work ongoing at Manthos, busy place today.
-
Looks like a small Brandenburg gate has been erected there!!
-
Looks like a small Brandenburg gate has been erected there!!
What is it meant to be?
-
A landmark visible from far up the beach to invite those who rarely venture to the left of the car park. A magic portal to souvlaki heaven. A gateway to gastronomic splendours. I bet they paint it blue!
-

Haha, thanks Jim!
-
Beautiful looking day today, lots going on too. Nafsika pool looks like it is being emptied, Manthos, folks looking busy with work ongoing, wish I could be there to help 8).
-
Re: the Nafsica pool.......about time.
-
Why empty a pool during the closed season? It makes more sense to leave it until is has to be done. Once it's filled it takes expensive daily maintenance.
-
Blitzen there just now!!
-
Yes, this morning, Monday, we awoke to some very loud claps of Thunder, heavy rain with scattered hailstones and now enjoying the light show outside. The storm is now making it's way over towards the Kassiopi area and the grey clouds are breaking up with some brightness on it's way. Quite mild though as the wind has dropped slightly.
-
"Also for the past few years, on my last trip of the year (Oct) I normally drain half the water out of the pool which is 1.6 metres deep, to allow for the winter rain not overflowing it, and in case of earthquakes I've been told it helps to keep some water in the pool.
Come May when I return I have a pool that is the colour of a swamp, I then fully drain the pool take all the dead leaves from the bottom and clean the tiles etc, but it takes 5 days to fill from empty, plus another day for the 'shock chlorine' to kick in, the another day for the Algicide."
It's interesting about pools! Funnily enough I looked up about i earlier in the year! I'm a sad case I know! The above was one answer, others do not empty at all but keep adding chemicals etc etc but expensive
"Do any of you that have a pool, do what I do, half empty pool over winter, fully drain pool of now green water in spring and fill with fresh water and chemicals taking 5-7 days. Or do you half empty in winter, fill the green coloured pool to full and then add chemicals etc. Saving days on the cleaning process?"
Also:
"I've tried both methods ie John's empty, pressure wash and leave as well as keeping it ticking over during the long winter months ie October to May. Last week I was at the pool shop in Chania and the owner recommended the latter method ie keep it running.
Something to consider too, if a tiled pool, the water volume / pressure is huge and if emptied the tiles might crack if there's any ground movement."
Obviously a quite complicated process. Amazing what can prove interesting during lockdowns!!!
:D
-
I think Dimitri at Fedra used to empty his entirely over a period of days. I can remember having a conversation with him about it. He said it took an age to refill as well.
We went there once in May and the pool was quite cold (not sure why I mentioned that!!!!).
-

Is it faintly possible that the sun may not have been strong enough to warm the water? Just a theory.

Thanks Jimbo I never thought of that................................... ::)

I saw someone walking on the beach with some sheep this morning :)

Maybe Peter with his goats Karen ?, seen him a few times whilst staying at Fedra.

I did wonder if they were goats, I couldn't see clearly, Winkie :)
-
Life in a village out of season is wonderful to behold
-
Been moved a little, now overlooking Manthos, and not the road up to the church etc. I guess to give some privacy to the guests at the pool.
-
I was really looking forward to seeing the pool being filled again. As well as it getting ready for reopen when that happens. Shame it has been moved.
-
Yes, I think we were all looking forward to that! We also wish he would move it back again. No visitors yet for us to intrude upon. Sad. :-[
-

Thank you Jimbo. Even if he just moves it a little to the left we'd have a better view instead of that wide expanse of Nafsika roof .

Thanks Jimbo, very kind of you sir :)
-
I'll let you when, or if, Spiros replies.
-
Well he's moved the camera more to the right so now we see right along the bay and even more of the roof.Liked it better where it was before.
-
Agree Dupnica, pool please Spiros 8), although the beach looks amazing.
-
Don't forget to email directly to Spiros, otherwise he'll think it's just me that's moaning. http://nafsikahotel.com (http://nafsikahotel.com)
There's a contact form on the site.

Wee opportunity for Spiros, put some loungers on the roof, what a view from up there. 8) 8) 8).

The latest view is awful!
-
Hoping web can will go back to its original position.
-
I hope so too :)
-
Me too :)
-
It has nudged back a bit today but you still cannot see the church.
-
Just imagine, wakening up to that view every morning, it is absolutely stunning. Looks a wee bitty overcast today, and rough looking sea.
-
Windy up the hill today and cloudy (mostly due to the Sahara Dust in the air). Kalo Pasca x
-
Too much sky I think, would rather see the road to the church.
-
Tables and chairs set out at Manthos, wish my butt was on one right now. :'(
-

I'm starting to like this new view now :)
What a cracking day today, blue sky and the water is like a pond, your going to get some beautiful sunset views from this camera position once the sun is at its maximum and setting over Mathraki around the end of June 8)
-
Webcam back to its original position now :)

That's good! What a beautiful day!
-
That's better, now we can see what's going on.
-
That's great news!

I begged Spiros on Facebook to put it back. He said "I'm making it beautiful for you!"
And now the pool is blue and oh so inviting...

Thanks Jimbo, appreciate your all that you do for us on this wee forum, top man :).
-
So great to see the pool again at Nafsika.
-
It's great to see it back especially as this will most likely be as close as we get this year. Thanks Jimbo :)
-
Please email Spiros to say how much we appreciate it! The two webcams give great beach coverage now. Another one in the centre of the village would be great.
-
Yes I will definitely do that :)

Not connecting for me either Karen.

Have a great time

Thank you.

There's someone by the pool. Nice. Jealous am I.
-
Rod, the beach looks pretty deserted at the Nafsika end, it it the same at the delfino blue end ?
I can t see the boat hire either, I don't suppose its worth them being there till the masses arrive ?
-
The pool looks beautiful and sparkly! The sea looks a bit choppy today.

We had a walk along the beach this morning at about 8:45. We then doubled back and walked through the Vicki Apartments and back through the village. We saw four people throughout. However, we spoke to Spiros from Star Bar and he excitedly told us that he was opening tomorrow. We also saw the staff from Barras arranging the tables inside the bar/restaurant. Things are looking up.
-
Thanks Rod, all sounds positive!
-
We went next door to Vicky's today to Villa Maria they have Czechs guests in res there, the bar was open and there were people around the pool they welcome non residents if you are passing again,,,,,

Hey I just realised you didn't say Little Prince or Thomas Bay open either ?
-
Hey I just realised you didn't say Little Prince or Thomas Bay open either ?
Both closed, as is Athina and Barras.
-
Hi Rod, any idea when the Little Prince opens?
-
I can't see any TUI holidays from Stansted, to little prince before 12th July..don't know about other airports..we should have gone on 28th June, so I'm glad we changed to next year!
-
Hi Rod, any idea when the Little Prince opens?
I spoke to Dimitri and Pippina last night. The restaurant and bar are not opening this year. He has four guests arriving next week so has to open the pool. He's not a happy man.
-
Crikey l didn’t expect that Rod.
-
That's a shame Rod...
-
Sad to read that Rod, normally packed out this time of year.
-
What a shame for them ???
-
Does the Nafsika pool look a bit green?
-
I think it does, is Nafsika closed at the moment this year. Looks shut down. So sad.
-
It is offered on TUI from 28th June... 8)
-
Does the Nafsika pool look a bit green?
Looks green to me Karen.
-
Yep Green !!
-
Not my eyes then! ;D
-
Nafsika will be opening later. The pool will be cleared, I'm sure.

That's good Jim!

More comments on the state of the pool and Speros (sic) may take offense and turn the webcam around again. I don't think we want that - I like my daily view of both webcams and looking forward to being out there in eight days time.
I believe work has been done on the pool in the last few days and looking great. I hope that means he is having a few guests. Any pool takes a good deal of work to keep it pristine and algae can start in just a few days without attention. Good luck to Speros and all at AS who are trying to make a go of it this year.
-
exactly x
-
So sad to to read that Little Prince bar and restaurant are not opening this year 😢
-
Offence wasn't intended and knowing Spiros, as we have for17 years, I doubt offence would be taken by him :)
-
So sad to to read that Little Prince bar and restaurant are not opening this year 😢
Yes it is sad..
-
Just watched someone apparently treating the pool this morning, throwing what looked like granules in the water. Looks like another fabulous day in the village, missing it big time this year :'(.
-
Yes, looks lovely Winkie!
-
It's very hot & humid today with Sahara Dust in the air however there is a slight breeze from the sea. 30c at the moment at 12 noon. Happy Wednesday All x
-
Is it correct what Chrissie says about Little Prince not opening at all? We usually go there for at least one dinner-and their Village "scrabble" (as its says on the breakfast menu) is delicious! :'(

It wont be the same without the Little Prince, they must be so fed up to have made that decision. I love Dimitri and Pippina xx :'(

Sorry, not a lover of Little Prince, had a very bad experience there in 2019

I can confirm that The Little Prince is still closed. On a brighter note there were loads of us in Yiannis Family Taverna last night. The village is picking up.

I am here just now and it is a tad warm,41 degrees yesterday but you've got to be sensible. People are still pegged out on the beach in the full sun,if it was inflicted on them as a form of torture they'd be begging for mercy.
Good news is it's going to drop down to about 33 for the rest of the week.
-
We're normally there about now and it does get exceptionally hot! We would stay in the shade and not walk too far in that heat. Enjoy your holiday, Dupnica!
-
Thank you Karen I will.

Sat: Greece 24 - Corfu 3 infections
Sun: Greece 23 - Corfu 3 infections
The not so good news is that the Delta variant is spreading in Europe. South West France has reached at least 30% dominance. It has been detected in various parts of Greece - Crete with the most so far.
Fully-vaccinated in Greece is 37.5%

Gone again - teething troubles?
-
There may be power cuts, because both cameras were off this morning. Spiros may not know. It depends which computer is feeding the webcam to the internet.
-
Not caught it on yet, sadly. Other one is back on but still very bleary! :'(
-
Not been over to resort today but no power cuts so far up the hlll here......

It's back! That pool looks very inviting! 8)

Sure does - that's the only pool I like much.

Yes, first time John and I met you and the lovely Gillie! :)

Good light show, bit of a thunderstorm today....

It did and it was very dramatic. Would like to order another one for next year, please.

Ha! We always loved a real good thunderstorm until Corfu Jul/Aug95 at the Tsaros. It went on from around 23:00 to 06:00 the next morning and we had lightening strikes 3-4 at once. Not too sure how true it was, but we were told one villa nearby had a direct hit with a large hole blown through the balcony.
-
The road down from Tsaros turns into a raging torrent when those storm hit. Got trapped in Summer Dreams once - nothing to do but drink beer and watch football!

As the song goes "ain't it sad" ;D
-
It was a deeply disturbing event. I had a terrible headache the next day caused by PTSD.
-
Looks like they've had some rain maybe thats why the pool doesn't look very inviting it has green patches
-
Rain overnight, now a light drizzle, a mild 28c this morning - the earth has thanked the heaven and can now breathe again.
-
Both cams look a little blurred. Thunder on the forecast and there is already one in progress further south, but you never know they may get away with it. Good job Maggie has 3 weeks!
-
That pool looks so inviting tonight, lovely looking view now :)

Much nicer today there for everyone...

Still cannot get anything, just a black square.

It's on now. Looks a lovely day!
-
Looks a very clear day. Sometimes I find it takes a few seconds to open the cam, and if you leave the page to look at others it goes off.... ;)
-
Yes it is so much better today, mostly sunny and slightly cooler around 16c at Midday. Happy Monday All x
-
Not too sure about the pool matching the grass, but I'm sure it saves money and the planet on chemicals ! Both cams showing a stunning clear day there.... at circa 21c nice... ::)
-
This morning started off bright and sunny, a few clouds have now arrived just after 1.30pm, its quite breezy but very mild around 22c at the moment. Happy Thursday All x
-
Saturday forecast is 27!!!
-
Yes today Saturday we have a very mild start, already 20c at 10.00. The sun is trying to break through, looking to be a lovely warm day ahead. Happy Saturday x
-
Whilst the discussion on the Bohr–Einstein debates rage on, in a space and time that does not exist :o ! We have people in the sea in Corfu :o Something does not look right when I sit here watching and know how cold I feel in the house, fleece on and heating still trying to get us warm.... :-X
-
Wise words! But I take comfort from the fact that we don't have a heat-exchanger!
-
I think you might find most modern heat exchangers these days work fine in cold weather. Better if it is ground source, but even air-source. However I'm firmly of the belief you should never rely on any one source. I'm betting there are a few wood burners in Corfu and likely a generator or two!
-
2.30pm here in in NW Corfu it is now 25c so what else to do but enjoy the warmth and Vit D. Also thinking as the government said electricity would rise in November by up to 50% so also thinking I am also saving some euros on my heating costs too.!!!..... But maybe spending more on the wine on the patio ......
-

In a Victorian house like ours wall insulation is near-impossible. No cavities. Heat-exchangers need to run 24/7, they are noisy, and ground-based exchangers are not feasible for a huge number of houses. I'm not sure it's the solution.

It is a solution, not the only solution. Insulation is needed regardless of any solution, many places in Europe are insulating retro on the outside. We need someone with the guts to do something. Can't believe we are still building new houses without solar, ground source excavating on new sites where they are in any case digging deep sewer trenches !
-
That would mean the likes of Persimmon having to spend some money. ::)
-
Looking a bit "after the deluge" there today...
-
Me too!
-
The forecast has been pretty spot on, Rain all through Saturday night into all day yesterday including rumbles of Thunder. Today, Monday it is is rather cloudy and grey. At last the leaves are falling from the Grape Vine and fruit trees. This will give Aris plenty to do sweeping and collecting the leaves for mulching and then we can use for digging into the earth for a natural compost. Forecast rain until at least Thursday and slightly cooler. Happy Monday All x
-
Cheers, Lesley!
-
Beautiful blue sky this morning, Manthos out washing his car.
-
We have a lovely bright & clear blue sky - but gosh it's blustery again. Wind chill bbbrrrr. Happy Wednesday All x

Softy Lesley, it was real-feel of -12c here the other day! We are forecast to get into double figures around April, hence the thought of spending a month over there....
-
It was 15o in Hull yesterday! Try the Costa del Yorkshire!
-
It was 15o in Hull yesterday! Try the Costa del Yorkshire!
That's the trouble Jimbo, we do live in Yorkshire...
-
Thursday - It's another bright day, sun is shining and a lovely bright blue and clear sky overhead. As the wind has dropped it feels much warmer - actually just after 10.00 hours and its now 11c. When the wind blows in from Albania that's when we really feel it as there was a heavy snow fall a few nights ago over there. Looks pretty but bites the ole bones !! Happy Thursday All x
-
Shame the beach cam is out as it often give a great view of the snow over the mountains.

It's back!

Someone is a very kind old Wizard... Beautiful it looks too. I scroll in 2 clicks and it give such a super view of the bay and mountains in the background ! Big thanks to whoever... 8)
-
Yes, but thanks!
-
What is that on the beach webcam? Lots of flashing lights..some kind of machinery?
-
Turtle hunters....! Not too sure, car stuck?
-
Turtle hunters....! Not too sure, car stuck?
Haha! Don't know..there was a car there too, so could be a recovery vehicle.
-
Looks like Corfu has been getting the same type of driving rain we've had here today!
-
Yes its been a typical Winters day on the rock. Overnight rain turned into this mornings downpour. At 10.00 we had hailstones. Its a cold bitter wind from Albania. Home all day with heating on. However forecast looks better come the weekend. We then expect a rise in temps to 18c.....
-
It's blowing a hoolie here!!
-
It's blowing a hoolie here!!
Yep and this is supposed to be the weaker of the two storms ???
-
Hope all over there are OK - heard about the strong winds coming in.
It's a lovely day here today, Thursday - Clear blue sky and milder too plus the bitter wind has dropped. Happy Thursday All x
-
Yep and this is supposed to be the weaker of the two storms ???
Eek!!
-
I see Manthos is out on his pony on the beach ::) !
-
Nafsika booked for may do we need to take a kettle and hair dryer or are they provided
-
Definitely a kettle. I think there's a hair dryer, but I've never used one. Probably no fridge, so you may need some powdered milk.
-
There is a kettle and a hair drier attached to the wall in the bathroom which I find fine. As Jim says not usually a fridge but they don't mind you keeping milk in their fridge downstairs. we tend to prefer to take powdered milk for tea as we're less keen on the taste of the long-lasting stuff!
-
Thanks for your information
-
A wee bitty chilly looking there this morning.
-
Sat indoors - the wind is blustery up the hill here - heating on snice midday. Forecast for this area is rain tonight, Sunday & Monday.
-
Lovely blue skies there this morning, looks like some work going on at Manthos too.
-
Yes lovely today after yesterday- when we had Hailstones, Thunder, Lightning and heavy rain. So great to see the sun again and although still a chilly 7c in the sun does feels somewhat milder. Happy Monday x
-

We have always taken milk powder with us but unfortunately it seems as we are now outside the EU you can no longer take any meat or dairy products into Greece. Only exceptions are baby milk powder and infant food.
From Gov.uk website:
"You cannot take meat, milk or products containing them into EU countries. There are some exceptions for medical reasons, for example certain amounts of powdered infant milk, infant food, or pet food required for medical reasons"
-
So, sadly will not be able to take the powdered milk! we'll cope! Thanks for that info. :D :'(
-
1 of the 4 supermarkets will stock powered milk. Also we do have fresh milk here, I use it, Full fat, semi or full skinny. You don't have to have UHT.
-
Thanks Lesley. Will keep our eyes open for powdered milk! We do use fresh milk always in preference, of course. It's just when staying at Nafsika you do not have a fridge. It's always possible to keep the fresh milk downstairs in one of the fridges there, but I'm too lazy to go down for it early in the morning!! ;D
-
Nothing working today but with message about the domain, so someone needs to put a shilling in the meter.
-
Perhaps there have not been enough visitors to warrant the cost of keeping the cam going?
-
It looks like Angelcam have decided to charge for access, $30 a year to access to 10 Webcams. I only wanted one! I think I may go for it as its my daily fix. ::)
-
I have just tried it and it was ok? :)
-
Hooray!
-
Beautiful day in Agios Stefanos, and the Nafsika pool is being emptied!
-
Superb deep blue colours. Looks like Mathos place is getting ready for the season as well... From what I've read there seems to be a lot of worry about bookings being down :-\
-
Where have you been reading that the bookings are down
-
Where have you been reading that the bookings are down
Well they posted this link (https://www.ekathimerini.com/economy/1180315/bookings-rate-is-in-free-fall/) ....
-
I don't think it's very surprising, given that there's a war in Europe, the cost of living is going up steeply, and we have all-time record Covid infections. The mini-budget didn't do anything at all for me. I suspect a lot of people are waiting to see what happens. Greece won't be getting any Russian or Ukrainian visitors, and fewer, I suspect, from the Baltic countries or the ex-Soviet bloc.
However, a decisive Ukrainian victory could bring some of this to an end sooner rather than later. Russia is near-bankrupt and did not bet on a prolonged war. It's costing Russia an estimated $11 billion per day. That's not sustainable when your economy has tanked.
The epidemiological data from Denmark suggest the the current Covid wave will decline in a couple of weeks or so. That would be one concern reduced, at least.
-
Today is Independence Day in Greece. It's worth noting that it was achieved despite resistance from the British, who wanted a small Greek state in the Peloponnese.
A special day for Corfu, because Ioannis Kapodistrias, after whom the airport is named, was the first Governor of independent Greece. He was assassinated in Nafplion - then the capital - and is buried on Corfu. He told the British to naff off, and without him Greece might be a very different place today.
-
Just now the white goats were strolling along the beach past Manthos and ended up nibbling the grass in front of Mistral. Beautiful sight on a beautiful day, both here and there.
-
Yes it looks beautiful there today, and seems to be a lot warmer at 19c just now. Very nice here at 15c, but my local forecast shows snow for Tuesday evening.... ::)
-
I see the power wash is out!
-
The pool looks very inviting this morning 8).
-
Looks empty to me.
-
Yeh, but clean.... ;D
-
Nice to see the mucky water gone. Painting will probably start soon!
First TUI flights in start on May 2nd, so only four weeks to go!
-
Re Powdered Milk - Ref March 8th on here - I was in a resort supermarket today and asked - yes they have it. I think this was probably more for coffee as I don't like or drink Tea but does seem available even though it is non main season here as yet?
-
Beautiful morning there, blue skies and so quiet looking.
-
Yes it is a lovely day with a clear blue sky, the sun is warming up and milder already 16c this morning. Happy Friday All x 8) 8) 8)
-
Nice to to see the Nafsika pool full and looking very inviting. Just seventeen days until the season starts in earnest!
-
Yep, looks lovely. Just as well we can see it with our own eyes eh :o
Mind you the forecast has not changed since I looked at it a month or so back. May does not look like I remember Corfu at that time of year and most days are forecast to be below average temps for the month! Still those would be a real good summer here....
-
I wouldn't jump in just yet, there's no water in it that lovely blue colour is fresh paint. They were busy painting it yesterday.
-
Oddly enough, you are right! Now, in that light, it indeed looks rather empty!
-
I bow to your younger eyes!
-
28 days till we arrive at the nafsika
-
Make sure the pool has water before you jump in! Best time is looking forward to it, so enjoy counting down the days.....
-
Definitely empty ::) !
-
Looks as though the pool is getting a final lick of paint here and there today as well as some attention to the underwater lights. Soon we will be able to watch the pool slowly fill via a hosepipe. As I have already watched the paint dry this should , in comparison , be quite exciting! 😂
Joking aside ,it is nice to see signs that the season is getting ever closer. Looks as though Andreas is offloading sun beds for his Mathos sun decks today also 👍🏼
-
Let's hope the weather is kinder next week for Easter there, but the forecast is showers...
-
What's the breakfast option at the nafsika
-
As a resident: juice, tea, coffee, croissant one day, meat and cheese the next, toast, jam/marmalade. You can have extras like boiled eggs etc at a small extra charge. Of course, that was last year - this year may be slightly different.
-
Go to The Condor for breakfast, the best there is
-
The Fedra Mare's is outstanding but you have to be staying there.
-
Ithought the questions was about what was included for residents, not what you could buy in a restaurant. Maybe I'm wrong!
-
Thanks for the information but yes your right jimbo just asking so we have an idea when we arrive
-
Jimbo - yes my understanding too - what do you have for breakfast when staying at Nafsika? Or as I understood the question too....
-
In that case what I said above is correct. It's a basic breakfast - plenty of toast. It's years since we bothered with a boiled egg or whatever, given the fact that we seem to spend half our time eating in the village!
The evening meal is a set menu that varies over a two week cycle, and it's fine. If you want something off the specials it's a small extra charge. You will not starve, Carl. :-)
On benefit of staying at Nafsika is that if it rains you just go downstairs!
-
Coffee and toast will be fine thanks for the information roll on Friday 13th of May
-
Looks like the weather is on the up and up just as you arrive - enjoy the build up!
-
We used to get cake at breakfast at Nafsika, and we always took ours away to have with a cuppa coming off the beach. A couple of years ago the cake changed to ham and cheese slices. Spiros said it was what the British like for breakfast. I didn't have the heart to argue. Breakfast's a funny meal worldwide, I think. I toured the Netherlands with the (National) Youth Theatre when I was fifteen and first encountered ham and cheese for breakfast, and hundreds and thousands. Playing in Paris I learned to dip a huge croissant in a bowl of coffee. In later life in India it seemed to alternate between an English breakfast and fish curry. Now I just have whatever comes!
-
Ah India, Yes Aloo Gobi for breakfast (as much as I enjoy Curry) was not my favourite so stuck to the Bananas and Coconuts instead. Happy Thursday x
-
Beach looks like a good clean, or is it a restructure to match the new sunbeds at Manthos !!
-

Hmmm..those beds don't look very comfy..hopefully they will be putting some cushions on them!
-
Beds do look very uncomfortable, but perhaps for us older folk the "higher outlook" also being good for a less of a struggle to get down to low levels... Even worse is getting up from the lower beds :-[
-

Yes you're probably right..it is a struggle getting up from the low beds..especially when they tip up and you end up with your legs flailing about in the air! ;D
-
They had a tracked Bobcat there yesterday doing it, so looks like just near Manthos. The parish usually has a JCB and lorry to clear seaweed.
-
I don't find much will be happening on the beach today, apart from almost 'Gale Force' winds it's Holy (Good) Friday here.....
-

Happy Easter Lesley, be hopes the wind calms down soon...
-
Thank You maybe a good day for the kite flyers x
-
Rather a pleasant day, today, the high wind has mostly blown itself out, the sun is both shining and mild 18c.. Now we await tomorrow to be much the same for our Greek Easter - Kalo Paska All x
-
It looks gorgeous ...
-
Beds and tables out at Manthos and activity at Nafsika - 1st May start for real?
-
Lovely to see Spiros and George serving people in the pergola today. The pool is just an few inches from full, the water sparkling in the breeze. Across the road, Manthos is ready, and the sea is calm and blue. Lots of people strolling on the beach. Earlier I saw two horses (and riders) trotting along the edge of sea. At the airport, the first Jet2 and TUI planes are arriving. How wonderful!
-
Someone trying out the new Manthos beds... and a lovely sunny 21c.
-

Looks like they've got some comfy cushions on them now :D
-
Sea looks like a millpond this evening - beautifully calm.
-
Hello to the people sunbathing at the Nafsika..happy holidays!! 8)
-
Isn't it great to see things swinging into action? The seaweed's being cleared off the beach, and the brollies are going up outside Mistral. Hurray!t
-
Mmmm yes 22c is a much nicer temperature, but still not too sure if it's hot enough for us oldies getting their kit off. Certainly will be a little chilly getting out of the pool, if you can get in the water that is.... :-[
-
But the sun is very warm. Unlike the east of the UK today. Struggling to reach 14o with cloud.
-
Yes Jimbo, it is very strong that far south and easy to get burnt quickly. Looks like Carl will have even warmer weather when they get there, just about our ideal temperature 24c.
-
I hope you're right counting the days down now daughter and family fly out on Tuesday
-
Cracking storm there just now :o.
-
Yes, I gather there is a "red" weather warning out there? Don't think that storm has really hit yet either! I had a look a couple of hours ago when it had left the Italian coast and it was moving Corfu's way. It did not look that big then, but seems a lot bigger now.
-
Great light show!
-
Beautiful morning there, still removing the seaweed from the beach I noticed a truck heading across the foreshore.
-

It does look lovely. I know it's early in the season, but it does seem a little quiet?

We are arriving in 4 weeks staying at Athina. Can anybody who's there now or been recently tell me if passport control arriving was easy or a long wait. Getting quite exited now..

We were through on a frantic Friday three weeks ago, took about twenty minutes.

Thankyou for that. We arrive on a Thursday evening just after nine.

We are arriving in 4 weeks staying at Athina. Can anybody who's there now or been recently tell me if passport control arriving was easy or a long wait. Getting quite exited now..
We arrived on a Saturday morning flight at the end of May, a few other flights around the same time and we were through passport control in about 15 mins, before the cases were on the carousel. They had 4 passport kiosks open then.

Where have all the sunbeds gone from off the grass
-
Where have all the sunbeds gone from off the grass
I think they were cutting the grass yesterday.
-
I think there could be a wedding going off there are they baskets with flowers in the pool
-
Yes, just seen the bride and groom!
-
Yes you can see them on the beach now
-
Still a few folks catching the last of the summer sun in the village. Have read a few restaurants have closed, and others following soon, another season coming to an end. Had a fabulous time in June, and hopefully manage another trip next year, best wishes to all the owners and their staff over the winter months.
-
Got back last Wednesday after two enjoyable weeks. The weather was mixed, lots of good sunny days, a few windy days and a couple of rainy days but the welcome as ever was warm.
-
It seems a bit weird seeing people enjoying the sun when here, despite the lovely sun, it's freezing! Mind you we never found the water too warm the times we had late holidays. Did you take a dip Dupnica, if so, was it cool?
-
No gave it a miss this time.
-
The sea's usually wonderful at this time of the year in my experience :-)
-
Looking rather wet there today, but rest of month is looking very nice....
-
Superb clear day at the beach today!
-
and again today, Monday a mild, sunny clear day 20c at the moment at 11.00am. Forecast this week also looks pretty lovely too....
-
Very tranquil, looks lovely - enjoy Lesley!
-
Looks like showers this morning, still beautiful.
-
Looks like showers this morning, still beautiful.
I pop in at least once a day on the cam for my fix, yesterday it was mixed but had a wonderful rainbow that seemed to end at the far end of the beach. Thunder was forecast then and is again today. Little snow here in Yorkshire, but what is around is frozen making it difficult to walk, need your Yaktrax on the last 4-5 days….
-
We had heavy rain, blustery wind and even hailstones. Temperature dropped to -1c overnight up the hill here in Avliotes. Snow on the Albania Mountains opposite - much of the same is due today (Sunday) however at the moment at 08.30 the sun is trying to break through the very heavy Grey clouds overhead. Happy Sunday All x
-
Surfers in the sea!
-
Surfers in the sea!
Looks like they are packing up. Not surprised as the sea looks a bit calm now.
-
What a difference a day makes! Can see the snow on the mountains today... superb!
-
Amazing!
-
The morning started with rain and grey skies now we have mostly (up the hill here) blue skies at lunchtime however as the wind is blowing in it is 8c with a real feel of 2c so we may get frost overnight .......Off to light the log fire again....... Happy Wednesday All
-
The beach looks great today, with the white horses!

Another lovely clear day...
-
It's gone, but the beach cam is still there... This evening (16:30 UK) it looked beautiful, check the temperature and it was still 19c !!!
-
Nafsikas webcam still working for me. Just had to watch a small video first.
-
Nafsikas webcam still working for me. Just had to watch a small video first.
Yep, back working here too. Mind you the beach cam is superbly clear today, has it had a clean or upgrade?
-
Looks like some work going on at Manthos, the sea looks so calm too.
-
Sad news on social media earlier, Theodosia at Nafsika has passed away, sympathy from us to all the family.

Sad indeed...

Looks beautiful today, the pool being drained too apparently, ready for this seasons visitors 8).

Work ongoing on the pool, looking nice and clean. Think I saw Manthos out sweeping the roadway outside his home, beautiful morning, oh to be there 8).

-
Pool looks lovely!
-
Lovely blue sky this morning, sea looks a bit choppy though. Nafsika staff moving chairs around, prepping for the summer months ahead 8).

Looks lovely Winkie!

Would be lovely to play in those waves rather than sitting at my desk eating my lunch.

Only 33 more sleeps for us before we get to play in the waves, lovely 😊
-
2 weeks tomorrow for us can't wait
-
Hi Carl - I'm jealous! Have to wait until July. I'm sorry I won't have new Almond book by next week, but I may have by July. Did Julie finish book two?
-
She as started it but she's saving it for when we get to san stefanos
-
Good. Have a great time!
-
Looking gorgeous there today, I'd be excited if we were going... :( Only 20c, but that would suit us fine, and the "real feel" is showing a whopping 27c!!
-
Counting the days down now daughter and family fly out Thursday then we arrive on the 15th
-
First sunbeds out at Mistral! Unfortunately, more beds than sun today.
-
Yes, it is a will it or won't it rain type of day today but great for gardening as a mild 21c......
-
Looking like a few not so nice weather days there, but after that it is looking very nice!
-
Counting the days down now daughter and family fly out Thursday then we arrive on the 15th
Have a great time in SS with your family x

Well it would suit us fine, but looks a tad cool there at the moment... Mind you it is saying it got up to 27c there Monday.

Is anyone having problems getting on the webcam?
-
Is anyone having problems getting on the webcam?
Yep, last few days, but the beach cam looks super this morning! Really pleased for those there now - enjoy...
-
Yes looks beautiful on the beach..
-
Looking a little wet there just now... and 3 days of rain at the end of the month! Last week in May used to be regular for us in Corfu, don't think that would work too well these days.
-
Looking like a fair number of thunderstorms around, could be a bit of a light show there this evening!
-
In case you're wondering why the Nafsika webcam is offline, Spiros said on Facebook that his router died and he's waiting for a new one.
-

Thanks for the info Jimbo.
-
It's back! 8)
-
Looks like the webcam has sun blindness at the moment.
-
I forgot to mention that it's back again!
I'm so jealous looking at the people lying about in the warm weather. This is the worst year for weather here that I can remember. June, and the heating's on. Struggled up to 14o today.
Equally galling is the weather forecast saying how glorious it is. It's ******* freezing up the east of the country. Sunday morning when I went shopping there were people wearing woolly hats and scarves. Rumour has it we may see the sun come the weekend. Fat chance.
-

Equally galling is the weather forecast saying how glorious it is. It's ******* freezing up the east of the country. Sunday morning when I went shopping there were people wearing woolly hats and scarves. Rumour has it we may see the sun come the weekend. Fat chance.
Ha! We live quite a bit further West and despite the weather people saying to the contrary, it's been very cloudy here... Still, it's been dry and I'd rather it was not too hot these days...
-
Gorgeous down here in Wiltshire, 20° most days, only the N/E wind that spoils it.

Grrr! >:(

Thanks, George! We're a lot nearer the North Sea and get the full blast of cold air. 13C currently, and drizzling, which at least makes a change, because we've had almost no rain this spring. Had to put a sprinkler on the vegetable patch for hours before digging it.

What a whinge Jimbo, balmy 13c, it's 10c here and reelfeel of 8c! Mind you it is a bit cloudy in Corfu, but then again 25c!!!

Not too sure about that horrid pole spoiling the view on the beach cam, but the beach and sea look lovely this time of day (19:47 there). Looking at the Nafsika webcam it was nice to see a group walking down all dressed up for what I guess will be a lovely meal - seemed to be heading for the Mistral.
-
Can't see much on the beach cam, at the moment..

Been sand blasted I guess, looks pretty windy today...

I know that I've probably asked this before, but could someone post the link to the Nafsika webcam? Cheers!

Been very windy for 3 days now and apparently windy again tomorrow. Mistral wind which comes from the north west and is cool.
Not had air con on since we have been here.
Beach has been cleared so looking much better.
Busy with large groups of families from Uk, Italy and Romania. Lots of day trippers too.
The waves restaurant have put up a chain now so that the cars don’t impose on their patch.
Prices up in food and drink so anyone coming bring extra money.

Nice to have the on the ground report, thanks Scottygirl. But is it not time for you to leave - just jealous... :'( !

All exciting stuff with people already there and others raring to go! The wind was always a bit of a problem, being cool as Jimbo has said if the temperatures were not high, and when high temperatures coincided there was the risk of sunburn… Still I would put up with it at a push. I still remember Gregory & Evia on the first open night of the Sundowner (Mistral) when the Nafsika was heaving and they were totally empty. I went over to get served a beer and watch the world cup game in peace and comfort. I don’t think the Mistral bit was open at that time, but it was long ago and has changed so much since.

Wind has gone and now normal July temperatures although still need a wrap or sleeves in the evening!!
Beach gathering seaweed quickly again.
Talk around everywhere that there is going to be a marina to attract the yaughting brigade. Lots of new apartments being built/renovating so might be looking to the future.

If you are there next week Scottygirl i don't think you will need the wrap! Having a peep at the beach cam and it looks like one of those days where you just know it is going to be hot!!! Saying that the weather forecast is saying only 26c (14:43 Corfu?), reelfeel is 32c mind you.

Thanks Jimbo, although when I try to open the link through my work laptop access is denied as it's regarded as "pornography". Which makes me think what exactly goes on at the Nafsika........ ;D
-
Stayed there many times and never been ravished, unfortunately. Did get a few hugs on grab-a-granny night, mind you.
-
Looks absolutely glorious there today, pouring with rain here at home, wishing we were there :(.
-

I think the rain does not help! Not too sure we would want to be there in that heat at the moment, but "wish we were not here" just now.... Need that bloody jet-stream to move north about the length of the UK!
-
On balance I think I'd rather be on that beach with a cold Mythos nearby than this horrible non-summer. It's a week since we returned home after having to abort our holiday, since when he haven't been able to sit in the garden once. We've got filthy colds, and I'm still fighting my way through TUI's arcane repayment system. Gillie's spending most of her time in bed trying to keep warm. We are thoroughly fed-up, and the weather forecast is crap well into August.
At least my third book will be finished ahead of schedule!

I'm sure a few on here will have thought of you two and the rain here in the UK. There is a beauty in the rain and the colours it brings to this fair land, we just need to see through it! But yes a bit sun and warmth now and then at the height of summer would be nice as well! Hope the colds go soon Jimbo & Co.
-
The sea appears so flat today, hardly a wave breaking. Even though its hot, if I survived the Grand Canyon at 47 C I can cope with our beach with a cold one in hand. Enjoy, if you are still there folks.
-
One of those days to be by the pool by the looks of the wiped out beach cam! Good to see the Nafsika pool busy as I seem to recall it always was in days gone by.
-
Ooh yes! Can someone clean the beach cam please! :)
-
Both need a clean today, must have been quite windy.
-
Can someone please tell how to find the webcam.

Thanks. That’s brilliant 🤩
-
Top right of the page.
Best is https://corfu-info.com/ (https://corfu-info.com/) which has lots of cameras, including the airport.
-
Many thanks.
-
I forgot the Nafsika camera: https://nafsika-hotel.click2stream.com/ (https://nafsika-hotel.click2stream.com/)
-
Thank you for cleaning the beach cam, it looks beautiful this morning.
-
Indeed all looks very clear and busy today...
-
What's going on, new deck chair layout ::) !
-
Wedding at Manthos today. Thank goodness the weather has improved for them.
-
Too true as there has been some awful and tragic weather across Europe this week. Hope the couple have a lovely day.
-
Looking a tad wild there today....
-
Sunday is always "locals" day, and judging by the number of cars and quads outside Manthos a lot of long lunches are being eaten. We have 40 MPH winds forecast for later, so it looks like wild is the theme today.
-
Can anyone see the Nafsika webcam?
-
It's been off-line for a day or so.
-
Thanks Jim.
-
I've only just discovered there is a second airport webcam. It has a lovely view over the entire bay to the south, showing the church and lots of activity with boats coming and going and planes arriving from far away. https://www.corfuland.gr/el/live-webcams/la-veranda/view-details.html (https://www.corfuland.gr/el/live-webcams/la-veranda/view-details.html)
The frame-rate quite slow - about 1fps - but the views are worth it. It's about 30 second behind the runway webcam. With two monitors and a webcam on each you have the interesting sight of a plane landing before it's arrived!
The runway webcam is at https://corfu-info.com/corfu-airport-webcam/#live (https://corfu-info.com/corfu-airport-webcam/#live)
The best way to use the airport cameras is in conjunction with flightradar24.com. When a plane is approaching you can go to the webcams to see arrivals.
-
Nafsika cam is back...
-
Hooray!!
-
Think the cams come into their own this time of year when (most of the time) our weather is dark and dank! It’s just so nice to look in on a warm looking and comfortable seaside resort. It seems unreal sitting here in the damp to see people swimming in the sea and/or pool there in Corfu. Anyone there, you are so envied….
-
Yes - and the thought of a long lunch in Mistral or Manthos hovers just out of sight!
-
I’m here! Unfortunately we go home tomorrow.
-
Got back last Thursday, feels like months ago, lovely weather.punctuated by an early morning thunderstorm. Had a few power cuts, not unusual, but inconvenient when you've just applied shampoo and the water reduces to a trickle.
Didn't get a single mosquito bite and I don't use anything fancy just Odomos cream and plugins in the room, and ,ladies, I always wear perfume in the evening. Can't explain it, they just don't seem to like me. Is it my blood group or the B12 injections every three months or the fact that I don't drink beer?
Wasps were minimal due to the poor grape harvest. The cold , wet Spring to blame.
That mast you can see on the beach webcam supports a canopy on the terrace at Manthos. You can just about see it on the Nafsica webcam.

It looks a lovely time of year, but very quiet for some I would guess (we would love it). Was everything open?
-
Hi Geordieborn we came back a few days ago and everywhere was open. We stayed in Terezas Sunset Hotel which was lovely and the food and hospitality was exceptional, as a result we only ventured out to other restaurants a couple of nights. We did however sample many drinks in most bars in the village 🍺
We were blessed with good weather but a little chilly in the evenings. We can’t wait for our next trip.
-
Glad you had a good time! It's hard not to...
-
Geordie it was still quite busy, lots of visitors from other parts of the island enjoying the lovely beach and tavernas.
-
Looking a bit wild on the beach today!
-
I suspect it'll be worse here tomorrow! Nafsika's closed. I'll be surprised if much is open after Friday.
-

It is invariably worse here Jimbo!
-
Beautiful blue sky there today, here, at home, its batten down the hatches.
-
Calm before the storm here in West Yorkshire, quite pleasant outside. Looks lovely on the beach there in SS... Nice and warm too!
-
Rather a mixed bag here this Thursday. Grey clouds earlier then the blue ones blew in now scattered clouds with a gentle breeze lovely and mild around 23c so windows, doors open time for some gardening in case scattered showers arrive later? Happy Thursday All 8) 8) 8)
-
Hope you enjoyed your day Lesley, good to hear the other nice side of life there in Corfu. No storm yet for us, fingers crossed it's in a teacup here, but sounds awful in parts of Scotland.
-
Where is all that black smoke coming from?
-
The cliff at the far end of the beach is on fire, hope it doesn't spread!
-
The cliff at the far end of the beach is on fire, hope it doesn't spread!
A "controlled" burn ! Been smoke for a few hours now and looking worse.
-
Don't think so,it started near Rose Garden.
-
Videos on Facebook showing the fire planes, worryingly seems to be spreading. Stay safe all
-
Supposedly an evacuation order, but those surfers don’t need to! Looking a little better on the hill, less smoke.
-
Yes, thankfully looks to have been controlled now. Saw some videos by Kostas from Fantasea taken up by Romanza where it was right up to the walls. Fire fighters and locals with water bowsers tackling it.
-
Nice to see quite a few people on the beach, and even some in the sea!!!!
-
I gather it must have been a bit rough there recently, both cams looking quite grainy ...

Lovely clear cams again today and a fine looking, if cool (13c), day....
-
We only had 3c up in Avliotes most of the day, did reach 8c at one point though.
-
Minus 6 here in Southern Scotland :o, forecast all week too .
-

Brrr... That made me look at the map. picked Peebles and it's snowing according to the forecast! Bright blue sky all day here in Yorkshire and a balmy 1c...
-
Surfer in the sea this morning!
-
I don't blame them as it must be lovely to have your beach back! We lived by the sea for over 30 years and loved it in winter when you had the big long beach to yourselves. Mind you, although our daughter does so, we would not surf in the north sea ::)
-
Yes, must be lovely living by the sea, I wouldn't be surfing though! ;D
-
Sea like a millpond today, looks lovely!
-
Yes it is a beautiful sunny and bright day with very little breeze and up the hill here away from the beach we have around 17c. Happy Thursday All x
-
Looking wild on the beach today!
-
What beach???????
-
What beach???????
Indeed!
-
I was just thinking that if I was in my usual position in front of Mistral I'd be able to paddle without getting off the sunbed!
-
Still at 15c it would be a lot warmer there than here at 2c!
-
Lovely bright and clear day there in AS! Looks like Manthos old place is having make over....?
-
Nice to see things are back! If they are down I miss my webcam fix, so other might too? If you do there is another site linked to the beach cam here (https://www.skylinewebcams.com/en/webcam/ellada/ionian-islands/corfu/agios-stefanos-avliotes.html)...
-
Wow !, whats happening to the pool folks, getting filled with rubble :o :o :o.
-
Just watching someone tipping rubble into it are they doing it so it not so deep
-
Just watching someone tipping rubble into it are they doing it so it not so deep
It would be nice to think they are not filling it in! Looks a bit rough there today.
-
Can't understand why he would want to fill it in its a nice pool
-
E.U. Regulations, public pools to be no more than 4 ft. deep.
-
Is that a new rule never heard of that one
-
There's a guy lobbing stones into the pool??? 9.14am BST
-
Jimbo have you heard anything about what's going on with the pool at nafsika
-
E.U. Regulations, public pools to be no more than 4 ft. deep.
I wonder what the idea behind a 1.22m depth could be? I recall many years back in Italy they were insisting people had to have a fence around swimming pools. It all seems very odd when there is a big and very deep stretch of water just over the road....
-
Very true just a shame if that is the reason for fill it in such a nice pool and will that mean all other hotels will have to follow suit
-
Yes,unless they have a lifeguard.
-
Do hotels with pools need to follow this? Will it affect the holiday season?
-
Noticed all the tree's have been cut from the gate to the top of the garden
-
A lot of activity as usual for the coming year, Manthos looks like major work! Nice to see temperatures are getting up there, 18c at the moment and looking lovely.
-
Looking very blowy there today, and work being carried out at Manthos.
-
Busy busy around the Nafsika, mini digger dumping rubble into pool :o :o, workers on Manthos roof, all go in preparation for summer.
-

Very busy indeed, just seen a truck dumping on the road outside of the Nafsika. Is it for the pool or eventually doing the road??

Going in the pool I believe :-\ Geordieborn .
-
The pool soon to be a pond! ???
-
You have to feel for the pool owners, drastic measures indeed. I personally feel for Dimitri at Fedra, its his pride and joy, a beautiful pool, and immaculately clean and tended to every day :(.
-
Had anyone else noticed both cams are often down at the same time? :-X
-
The webcam has moved, cant see the pool, booooooo :( :( :(
-
The webcam has moved, cant see the pool, booooooo :( :( :(
He must want to surprise everyone ;D !
-
At least there is still that lovely sunset.
-
Maybe both webcams are off because they don't want people to see the reorganisation of the beach or the pool in case it puts people off. :-\
-
I cant see the picture to click for the webcam, just the time-lapse. Am I missing something?
-
I cant see the picture to click for the webcam, just the time-lapse. Am I missing something?
Think it just sometime takes a little time to click in. Workmen are busy on the pool, well I think it's the pool as the cam move stops the view of it :(
-
Is it possible to ask the Nafsika owners to reposition the camera so that we can see the progress around the pool ? With this new regulation about pool depths does it mean that the likes of Thomas Bay and Athina are also having to modify their pools?
-
Rather than making the pool shallower, why not just give everyone a pair of water wings? ;D And on a more serious note, you can drown in a few inches of water so where does it end?
-
What exactly are the new rules regarding swimming pools in Greece and what are the reasons for these rules?
-
Not too sure what the new rules are, had a quick look but can't find much. Might be an EU thing???
Good to see the beach cam back, sunbeds out - shame the weather not looking so good!
-
What exactly are the new rules regarding swimming pools in Greece and what are the reasons for these rules?
Apparently, pools over a certain depth need a life guard in attendance Waspy :-\.
-
Morning all, is anyone else having a problem getting Nafsika webcam ?
-
Yes
-
Yes, I haven’t been able to get the webcam for a few days, now.
-
Thanks all, I'm glad it's not just me doing it wrong :)
-
Jim would have contacted Spiros by now but I've reported it ,let's see how long it takes to fix it.
Lovely to see people on the beach and a few brave souls venturing into the sea. The beach has been tidied up and the pebbles removed from outside Manthos.
I'm the subject of Manthos, Andreas has replaced the old toilets with fancy new ones. Hope there is more than one cubicle each for the men and ladies, hate queuing.
-
Yes, quite a few days now with no Nafsika cam. I think they want to keep the changes around the pool secret or hide what looks like a building site! Hopefully they get it sorted before people arrive. Beach looks very inviting the last few days now...
-
Hi, nice to see Waves sunbeds out so must be holiday time. Anybody going very soon who is able to give us any update on restaurants etc?
Harbour looked like they were planning changes last year.
Xx
-
Just as well the beach cam is working, looks lovely and wild the sea today!
-
Looks like Mistral beds being set out... Jimbo would have been very excited. Lovely, but windy day there a nice 22c. Nice here in Yorkshire with a 20c reelfeel - 14c!
-
Just seen a video on YouTube san stefanos 2024 and you see a glimpse of nafsika pool looks very nice
-
... looks like the Nafsika cam is no more!
-
Is the webcam back, thought Spiros said it was, but can't find it anywhere.

Yes.

Looks like it i can't get on it either

Nice to see nafsika webcam back up and running
Another "agree", great to see the lovely view (and Karen back).
-
Had a quick peep on there just now, okay looking at Kamini Bar... Looking quite busy, and it really makes you want to be there soaking up the atmosphere and contemplating the current 27c , so jealous of those sitting there just now!
-
So pleased to see the webcam back! :D It looks better quality then the previous one! Thanks Spiros!
-
wonder which cam will be cleaned first, end of season blues/tiredness perhaps....
-
Missed which was cleaned first, but well done to both as the view is superb today. Reading the posts on the food makes me hungry for some of that Greek food, just wish the wine was a little better, but I'd put up with it ::) !
-
Looks like it is starting to shut for end of season. Must be lovely for all those who work so hard over the summer, but sad for me.

Aye, noticed the loungers stacked at Nafsika, and it looks as though some are stacked in Manthos too.

Is the web cam still working?
-
Is the web cam still working?
Yes, but it often is taking some time to open.
-
Looking wild and windy there today, hence the beach cam is blurred by the spray and/or sand. I'm guessing the Nafsika pool surround has been re-seeded judging by the little flags to scare the birds? Still people marching up and down the road and still a pleasant 21c , can't see if many beds have gone from the beach....
-
Manthos car park busy today (Sunday so locals out in force). My daughter is there and says Andreas was full at lunch time and beach was busiest it had been all week.

Beach did look a lot busier today, it's still 20c there now (22:11 UK time) and some really nice temps last week...
-
23c , but it would take some doing keeping that beach cam clean in that wind!
-
Looks a little choppy there today :o.

I've been fighting with hotmail and gmail and missed my fix this morning... :-X Still a lovely 24c there (15:23 UK) , but yes, windy again.

Nafsika looks all closed up now, but still life around Manthos. :)
-
Nafsika looks all closed up now, but still life around Manthos. :)
Yes I noticed quite a little group in the carpark this morning. It still looked pleasant there with a reasonable 22c, still a few on the beach beds now (15:09 UK).
-
One of my first actions in the morning is to check the webcams to get that buzz on seeing, what is now, a sleepy looking village with deep blue sea background. Although there are plenty cars parked up, there's only the occasional person walking around, and now the beds have gone from Mistral. I suspect further along the beach they have gone too. Also a beautiful day here in Yorkshire, but sadly not 21c.
-
Looks like work is underway already at nafsika
-
Looks stunning this morning, I,m sure the season could be extended a little more .
-
The beach looks lovely without all the sunbeds and umbrellas and there's hardly a ripple on the sea. Just beautiful!
-
WoW it does look nice today. Not too sure what is going on at the Nafsika, gate down and wall perhaps?
