What a lovely day in San Stef..........not. They really seem to be having a lot of rain of late. Still its a lot better than 5' snowdrifts and minus windchill figures.
-
6/3 3.40pm BST - where's the beach
-
Been like that a lot recently, not much better today either.
-
6/3 3.40pm BST - where's the beach
Hope it comes back!! ;D
-
Two people on beach right now alongside the 'river', and on Saturday I see a JCB near the Waves.
-
14/3 - looking good today. Phew
-
New camera? Much better quality...
-
Sure is Jimbo, and I see the 'street' light has been re-erected again.
-
Looks like the blue changing booth is buried in the sand!
-
New camera? Much better quality...
Hi erveryone,
YES we finaly arranged to setup a new camera. the image quality is far better that the old webcam.
I' m currently trying to dreate some live streaming experience. stay tuned!!
Many thanks to Akis and Alex from corfu wireless (https://www.corfuwireless.com/) for the excelent technical support and service.
-
Thanks very much, Dimitri - looks great now. Excellent!
-
Wow! Looks great! :)
-
Looks like a 4K image.
-
Definitely isn't!
-
Web cam picture looks so clear......how long before someone spots us and Bod have a walk??
-
Get your bikini on, Jackie!
-
The new Webcam pictures look great, I wonder when they are going to rescue the changing hut !
-
16.42 BST - there are two people in the sea.
wow
-
I think it's beyond redemption, looks like it's in bits.
-
Its going to take some digging out that is. Give it another week and we won't be able to see it.
-
Love the new webcam, thanks to all involved.
-
Changing hut is almost all buried now!
-
22/3 2.04pm BST - its nearly gone - someone draw a map with an X on it - this could be a fun game for the kids in the summer.
-
A bit more of the hut is visible this morning!
-
23/3 4.15pm BST
Going going ..................................
-
27/3 9.44 BST
Its nearly gone.
-
Cannot see hut today.
-
All joking aside shouldn't that be dug up as you can see that causing an issue in the summer or am I H&S gone mad?
-
I think it'll bear my weight. I could name a few doubtful candidates, though!
-
people on beach now, with a dog??
-
5/4 BST 9.15am
I think its gone. Gone I tell you. :o
-
I think there's just a small line visible. It's hanging on!!!
-
Jimbo's right a thin line remains. Strange that no one's thought about digging it up unless they're going to do it when the seaweed gets bad and the digger can do the job. :)
-
13/4 - BST 8.16am
Is that heat haze over the beach or a dirty lense?
-
Great picture resolution but preferred the previous camera angle.
-
Good clear picture today - has the lens been cleaned?
-
Looks fabulous today, can't wait to be there! 8)
-
It has. I reminded Dimitris!
-
I think something has driven over where the hut was; does that mean its going to stay buried.
???
-
Waves have got shower pad there now so perhaps they have got blue box out.
-
What's happened to the live stream, was ok couple of weeks ago now it just says it's off line ☹
-
Swedebasher - you would have thought digging it out would have left a bit of a hole but you're right its definitely disappeared.
-
Live is working now.
-
After commenting on the live feed next time I looked it was working 🤣
-
What a beautiful morning it is in AS today. I love to see the sea so calm😀
-
Nice to see a few people on the beach enjoying the sunshine.
-
3/5 BST5.32pm
What's going on outside Waves? Looks like poles being put up - evenly spaced ???
-
Nice grassy brollies, I think.
-
I really dislike those umbrellas. No way of adjusting them so you have to move the lounger. Then you’re encroaching on someone else’s space.
-
I much prefer them. Cloth brollies are usually too small, so you're moving often.
-
there seems to be enough space between them not to be a problem encroaching on others but I must admit they're not my shade of choice.
-
Ah, look forward to lunching at Waves this time next week. Many thanks Demitris for giving us this live view.
-
Love the live view. Will be even better to be there though.
-
is it only me or has the webcam gone green? ???
-
I was then going to post the same comment, so it's not just you, missing my daily fix on the webcam ☹
-
is it only me or has the webcam gone green? ???
It;s a green -enviromental friendly webcam.... LOL
I haven been looking at it. It seems that there is work been done at the waves Taverna . someone has to tell Aggelos to leave the webcam in one piece. I don;t know what theyve done but We need to pay a visit i order to fix this...
-
Thanks Dimi the view's great
-
maybe its me again but the picture looks great and accurate in terms of time of day but the date and time in the top left hand corner isn't. :-\
-
its frozen :-[
-
Send a PM to Dimitris...
-
We have tried re-starting it a few times, I have called today the technician to come and take a look at it.
-Aline
-
anyone got web cam up and running.
-
We are waiting for the technician to come and take a look at it again, we have tried re-starting it but it doesn't seem to work. Please bear with us :) :)
-
BST 12.40pm - its dark in San Stef. Don't the umbrella's look eerie.
-
It's permanently dark, because the webcam's stuck again.
-
It's been a journey with the webcam this year! Waiting for the technician, again... :)
-
I need this fixed as we're not going to San Stef this year and the webcam's all I'll see.
-
Working fine now.
-
any one got live webcam working.
-
havn' t had live web cam working for ages 😥
-
Seems to be working now but it looks very dull and very few on the beach though there are a few cars.
-
Seems to be down again today - pitch black but can just pick up some sun umbrellas on the beach!
-
What on earth is that large mound on the beach (27/11 - 11.55 am BST)
-
What on earth is that large mound on the beach (27/11 - 11.55 am BST)
Ooh yes, I wonder what it is!! :D
-
Seaweed.
-
Just looked on webcam again, it looks like a large rock.
-
it does but its half the size it was yesterday
-
Hmm...odd!
-
It's definitely seaweed, been there since the end of September. I'm surprised that the storms haven't washed it out to sea but it has gradually got smaller over time.
-
Yep. Seaweed mountain...
-
The very same one that was there in September but bit smaller.
-
Thanks everyone :)
-
Do you remember the blue changing room being buried in the sand last winter? Does anyone know if it's still buried or did the locals dig it up.
If its still buried we may see it again if the winters a bit rough. :)
-
It all helps to build the picture.
-
Monday 17/12 - 12.17pm
Great view of the beach.
-
Hi everyone - is the webcam from Waves working? Don't know if it's just me - I used to be able to view it but not any more. I can see the Nafsica one though which is nice :-\
-
Works fine here Diane.
-
Nice view today
-
There are people on the beach I tell you, on the beach!!!!! I'm jealous. 8)
-
Plus today, just seen a half dozen there and two cars.
-
Good morning everyone. Its just gone 9am and the webcam seems to have broken again. Is it just me and my laptop?
-
Working fine for me. Another cloudy day in Paradise it seems. Been told to take an extra jumper with me!!
-
Hasn't been working for a few days but seems ok this morning
-
Working but dirty. Nafsika camera is fine.
-
I sort of assumed there would be lots more people on the beach-we usually go in September so I start webcam watching around August but this year we are going at the beginning of June and I keep looking now to see San Stef waking up from its winter nap!
-
Looks like next week's going to be rainy. Don't worry - it'll be hot by June !!!
-
Its working now but as Jimbo said its dirty
-
Today's Sunday 19th and webcam has frozen again. The Nafsica webam however is showing a pretty dull day. Very little sun for May it seems.
-
Yep frozen :(
-
It's working again. Looking good on the beach there as the weather perks up. 8)
-

Looks gorgeous 8)
-
think the webcam is either a little dirty or getting a tad steamed up over something
-
Yes, please clean, someone, no point having it if we can't see anything 8)
-
The recent storms blew a lot of what's probably salt onto this webcam and the Nafsika webcam.
-
Nafsica website is lovely and clear today, the beach one is still dirty.
-

You are moaning TB ;) Seriously, obviously people not there like to look at the beach and long to be there. Great advert to pass on to their friend to take a look at the lovely beach.
-
... mind you, just had a look at the Nafsika webcam, superbly clear. Perhaps a little too clear of people - it does look a bit quiet, perhaps the "bad boys" are still in bed. It's another plus of the quiet end of the village for us.
-
Hi We have just been up the roof anf cleaned San stefanos camera .
im so sorry for the delay ... August it is the busiest month fo the season and we have all been focused on our own work,
enjoy!

-
... and some view, as good a fix as my coffee this morning ;D
-
Thank you, Dimitri :-)
-
Thank you, Dimitri, it looks beautiful :)
-
Thank you
-
Brilliant than you.
-
Moaning Minnie here! Please clean the webcam! ;D
-
Has anyone else noticed a problem with the nafsica webcam, it appears to be pointing at the sky and there is only half a screen, I am missing my fix of looking at the San stefanos beach 😀
-
Nope. Working fine here.
-
... too many 403 errors to post a pic, but looks okay to me...
-
Sun is going down quite far around now.... But still warm there, almost winter in the north here, south a lot better.
-
What are you viewing on? It always works on PC with Chrome...
-

If we are talking "Drewsy" Jimbo, perhaps it's an upside down PC....
-
I would say every time I’ve looked at the Nafsika webcam there is no one there. Even in August I only ever seen 1-2 people at the pool? Is it a case we’ve all become too old for the pool, or have no kids wanting to play there or is it something to do with the beach beds being cheaper these days?
-
It's because most people "camp" out of view of the webcam. And the beautiful pool is rarely crowded. People tend to stand and chat in the water at the shallow end.
You may spot people in the now-enlarged shelter smack in the middle of the camera. Later, in October, you may spot me there, sitting with a beer writing the novel which started there in the summer.
And, of course, Nafsika is very close to the beach, and if you are staying at the hotel normally you would go out for lunch. The pool is the only pool we ever use; it's quiet, lovely garden, and often you will see house-martins dipping down to catch a drink from the water.
Thirteen days to go!

A lot of what you say about the pool makes sense Jimbo, but we were there 17 days in July and passed the pool a number of times a day, every day… We also ate lunch there a couple of times. So this was morning, lunch time and evening. No one was there most of the time, and when there was it was only 1-2 people? It could be the time we were there, but the resort, although quite the first week, was quite busy (not English school holiday busy). Thinking about it, the Vicky and Athina pools looked very busy. I just wondered about Manthos, Mistral and the Waves having sunbeds and the impact as certainly the latter two were busy most days. When we were last there 13 years back only the Mistral had a couple of beds in their garden.
-
Nafsika webcam, looking like a lovely clear day there today...
-
There were plenty of people swimming this morning. But it's never really crowded - it's a very big pool. We stayed at Little Prince in the summer, and our room looked out over the pool. That had towels on beds at 7 in the morning and was packed all day. I know which I prefer!

Agreed Jimbo, we prefer the Nafsika pool and always base ourselves there, its never been really busy all the time weve been there over the years.
We tend to be there at the end of June and the 1st week we almost get it the pool to ourselves, usually by the 2nd week and the start of the Scottish school holidays it starts to get a bit more busy.
I noticed the pool was busy during the main August English school holidays but I'd expect it will be quiet now as the kids are back at school.
Missed our fix this year but hoping all being well we will be back again next year!
-
The beach webcam looks lovely and clear again, thank you to whoever gave it a dust! :)

Who's got the duster? ;D
-
Been watching the webcam each day this month to see what month(s) would be best to visit. For us 25c is ideal, so the end of September is down as a possible, will also look at the quieter October. Having read a few old post from those living there, early in the year also looks worth a look, even if we have to fly via Athens. Looking out the window at the rain here I suspect I’ll be soon tearing my hair out to get away!
-
The weather gets a bit unpredictable by the end of September. It can be warm and dry or wet and cold. Many tavernas close early in October, so it can be a bit sparse. Good time to stay at Nafsika!

Enjoy your holiday Jim and Gillie, say hello to Spiros and team for me. :)
-
Will do :-)
-
Still very warm and quite busy though winding down now.
-
Will do :-)
Thank you Jim 8)
-
Thank you whoever cleaned the lens, nice to see the beach again. Looks very quiet now as the season comes to a close .
-
Yes, many thanks. A nice clear day and beach!
-
yippee
-
It's going to get a good wash today - it's absolutely chucking it down. Storms been running all night mainly off shore but inland now!
-
can anyone tell me the best site for san stef live webcam it does not come up on sanstef travel anymore.
Regards Harry
-
One of the locals tells me that the latest storm was the worst one for many years. Electric off as well.
-
can anyone tell me the best site for san stef live webcam it does not come up on sanstef travel anymore.
Regards Harry
It comes up for me on here (http://www.sanstefanos.co.uk/webcam), but I normally have to click the picture on the beach/cam on the right hand side. Clicking the black screen arrow often gives an error. Of course there is also the Nafsika cam on their site here (https://hotel-nafsika-agios-stefanos-beach.click2stream.com/). It seems to be down at the moment, but San Stef cam looks great, water right up the beach, nice sky...
-
It looks like the Nafsika cam took a pummelling yesterday! In fact it looks like the rain cleaned up all around the resort, hope all is okay there. This lightening tracking site (http://www.lightningmaps.org/?lang=en#m=oss;t=3;s=1;b=0.00;ts=0;y=39.7135;x=18.1934;z=8;d=2;dl=2;dc=0;) is good for watching which way the storms are going and how big they are, it showed at lot of activity over the island last night.
-
Mother and father of a massive storm that went on for ages. All electric off for 32 hours. Our friend sez the locals have not seen anything like it for years.
-
The webcam's a mess again today. Must have been the bad weather.
-
The weather was awful. Nafsika camera faces in a different direction,. and is fine.
-
Jimbo.....if you're still there can you get someone to clean the lens please. Thanks.
-
Unfortunately, I'm back in a rainy UK now. I'll happily take donations to go back and clean it!
-
I guess it is common for this forum to go a bit quiet out of season? I’ve still been looking in on the Nafsika webcam each day and the weather still looks very settled, but the place looks dead!
-
I think it's all over in the village now. So there's not a lot to say on here at the moment. We could always start an argument about (a) Royalty (b) Smoking (c) Brexit (d) Boris...
-
a) They have a place but a couple of them are way out of sync at present
b) Don't
c) Oh dear
d) Disingenuous, to say the least

a) like most dislike a few
b) dislike it but that's because I've never smoked
c) don't know what that is ::)
d) if nothing else he's a step up on the previous incumbent and the shocking candidates representing Labour and the Liberals (I've ignored the Democrats bit as they clearly aren't).

No arguments for me thanks.

See? That generated a few!!

Go Jimbo ;D
-
Oh and by the way.......what's happened to the webcam......someone clean it please.....and thank you :)
-
Send a PM to Dimitris, the moderator. He's probably fed up with me doing it!
-
Well we have the excitement of the Rugby World Cup for a bit.
Thick frost here today
-
Well we have the excitement of the Rugby World Cup for a bit.
Thick frost here today
Well it pains me to say it but England were excellent yesterday while the Welsh match was turgid and we lost. Oh hum.
-
Yes I agree.
We live in Wales,OH is Welsh and he was very verbal during the Wales game-nothing new there.
The village was deserted yesterday morning of course and the rugby clubs were heaving.
I was surprised at England’s performance I have to say but ‘Come on the boys’
-
Webcam has been cleaned, probably yesterdays storm cleaned it.
-
Thank you to whoever cleaned it :)
-
What a lovely day
-
Wow its wet wet wet in San Stef today and the outlook is for the same. Still it's nice to look at.
-
Wow its wet wet wet in San Stef today and the outlook is for the same. Still it's nice to look at.
Looks like it has moved on and left wonderful skies....
-
I know I tend to go on about it but it ain't working again................ >:(
-
You will have to look at the Nafsika cam instead 😇 Looks like it's been out since the 13th as you canjust make out an x-ray type view...
-
It's stuck on a night shot. Maybe we can persuade Noula and Aline to ask Dimitris to change to the Nafsika technology, which is higher-definition and works 99.9% of the time????
-
The Nafsica webcam is brill.
-
I have to admit it is rare for me to go on the forums webcam as the quality is poor. Perhaps we can all chip in for a new system...😇
-
I rarely go to it GB either.
-
Morning all,
Looking at the Nafsica webcam this morning there seems to be a crane and new building going up on the wasteland behind the Fedra. I never noticed that before. Is that right and if so what is it? They look like apartments to me.
-
Nothing wrong with the Welsh eyes, then! It does look like it - but we'll have to ask the locals! Lesley??????
-

Apparently a new villa with pool, Dimitri ( Fedra ) told us.
-
It was there a few weeks ago as well, then disappeared. I assumed it was a cement chute used to pour concrete by going over the top of some other building? I’ve seen such before where they were used to pour concrete on a 2nd floor.
-
Looked like they were repairing the roof on Manthos Taverna when I peeked at Nafsica webcam yesterday. Probably suffered some damage during the storm.
I remember years ago, before Manthos built the bit on the back, whenever there was a storm and heavy rain the water used to run down the road at the side of Nafsica like a river ,straight through the taverna and out of the front.
-
Waves webcam up and running again today.
-
With all the rain so far this November in fairness haven't been over to Agios Stefanos........ so haven't seen anything. Will try and get over there in a few days though x
-
It would be great if there were a few more good-definition webcams in the village. Where would you choose? Mine would be on Tasty Corner, showing the streets and junction.
-
On the roof of the Akrotiri bar.
-
On the roof of the Akrotiri bar.
Yep, like....
-
I've sent Nikos a message suggesting it...
https://www.akrotiri-cafe.com/ (https://www.akrotiri-cafe.com/)
If you do the same, stress what great advertising it would be.
-

Great suggestion Jimbo. That would give a real feel to life in the village in and out of season
-
On the Nafsica webcam it seems that the crane has gone from the Fedra and it looks as if the new building is next door to it rather than behind it. There was a home there with a huge overgrown garden maybe its there thats being redeveloped. A plea to Lesley........what's happening?
-
Still not been down to the resort as live up in the village (Avliotes) and rarely visit Agios Stefanos during the Winter and its been non stop rain here for almost all of November so far. Once it's brighter will pay a visit - sure though someone on here lives in resort so may know better?
-

Mentioned in an earlier post TB, its a new villa and pool, also pm,d you.
-
It's back! Looking at it I'm pretty sure it is like I said a cement mixer with an extended chute pouring cement. I've seen these many a time elsewhere in Europe, but not here in the UK. They can extend over the top of a two story house and right back down to the ground, so quite surprised they are not seen here... The Greeks like their concrete...
-
Can anyone post the link to Nafsika webcam. Have deleted all my bookmarks, somehow!
-
Found it!

Forgot to mention, when I was looking at the beach webcam yesterday, there was a large bird of prey sitting on one of the lamps, difficult to say what it was though.
-
Sometimes, up at Akrotiri looking down into the valley I've seen some big hawks slope-soaring in the breeze. Wonderful sight.
-

I wonder if it was some kind of buzzard, we have seen them soaring when we've been on the beach
-
Beautiful view today and it says 17c... A tad wamer than here then .... I don't recall seeing any bird of prey (apart from owl) in Corfu, perhaps a red kite or two. But almost all frequent Greece including a few types of eagle. If anything like here, then buzzards are common around here, this time of year including. Well spotted Karen! Is it me or is the Nafsika pool looking a bit green in the deep end...
-
Buzzards are common there as are kestrels, looked too big for a kestrel though. I love the haunting sound the Scops owl makes.
-
Haven't checked out Nafsika pool recently, is the water out yet, can't see now, as it's dark!
-
Haven't checked out Nafsika pool recently, is the water out yet, can't see now, as it's dark!
No, still full.
-
Perhaps it is a bit green now, don't suppose its being cleaned out now.
-
Looking quite rough there today...
-
It was a very blustery day yesterday Saturday with the wind coming from the snow capped Albanian mountains opposite making the chill factor feel only around 7c. Night time was cold too - so full heating on all day..... Today, Sunday however it is a beautiful sunny day with a bright blue & cloudless sky and warmer too at 10.00 hours being 14c with a high of 17c expected later up here in Avliotes. Wishing everyone a lovely Sunday too......
-
Thanks for the update Lesley. In return it will be nice for you to know that we have the exact opposite, in as much as it is several days with wet miserable weather here with chill factors like the other day of -8c! Still today (well for now at least) it is lovely and sunny and only a balmy 2c with a real feel of -6c… I know where I would rather be…
-
Just had a peek on the Nafsika cam, lashing down at the moment. Sea looks rough too, wild and windy apparently forecast for the days ahead.
-
Yes we did have really heavy rainfall over the weekend, very blustery too over in Agios Stefanos and up the hill here in Avliotes. Flood warnings were issued for the Ionian islands. The road between Avliotes and Sidari was very waterlogged (I am informed) as I didn't bother to venture out in the horrible weather. However today, Monday have awoken to a mostly sunny day, still quite windy though and although mild feels cooler due to the wind blowing over us from the suncapped mountains of Albania. Happy Monday to All x
-
Webcam stuck on December 20yh.
-
Stunning sky on the Nafsika cam here (https://hotel-nafsika-agios-stefanos-beach.click2stream.com/) this morning.
-
Beautiful yes,
-
think the webcam needs adjusting
-
A.S. looks a little wet today!
-
WoW! The opposite today, superb clear day with such a lovely colourful sea....
-
Beach looks beautiful today 8)
-
My webcam link is showing deep black....is it just me?
-
Nafsika here looks fine, but the forum site shows a date of 02Mar20 for me... :(
-
Nafsika is looking really well, oh to be there.
-
Yes, and Easter too - have a nice one (as you can) folks!
-
Nafsika webcam ok but not been able to see anything on the forum one for weeks :(
-
Its another lovely day - Happy Easter weekend to All - for those celebrating this weekend. Greek Easter will be next weekend here April 19th. Keep well, safe and Happy - Eat chocolate x
-
Thank you Lesley! Happy Easter to you for next weekend!
-

Doh, of course different calendar! I did wonder why there was little activity there. It does look another gorgeous day, hopefully it will make people all the more here keen to get back there a.s.a.p. Very strange here as it's the same temperature as there.... No chocolate for me, I really do dislike all sweet stuff - weirdo I know....
-
We actually eat Red Eggs - so we boil fresh eggs paint them Red and then have a game similar to conkers - before EC never had or saw a choccie egg here - how times have changed - in fairness we won't have any chocolate either but I know or believe many people feel happy when they consume chocolate ........ Happy Easter xxx

Noticed a few days of bad weather there in Corfu the last few days, but it seems to be clearing a little at the moment. Still it is reporting 15c on the forecase just now and 10c here with a realfeel of 8c. Just wondered where folks would rather be, for me it would be here as it's sunny...
-
I'd be delighted to get out of the east wind that's ruining things at present!

Oh for one of those old fashioned windbreaks eh Jimbo!

Working and sitting in our garden is beginning to lose its appeal but being somewhere else ain't going to happen anytime soon so we just have to suck it up.
-
Nafsica webcam showing a lot of rain at the moment. Not nice. While I'm sitting in 21 degrees. Phew
-
Yes, that pool will fill up soon....Wales had the best forecast when I seen it last night, sounds like they got it right, only 15c here :( Still it is warmer than yesterday, and probably a lot warmer than poor Jimbo!
-
It might struggle up to 15 here, but then subtract the chill factor! :-(
-
Yes it rained most of yesterday (Wednesday) and this morning it is a rather grey morning and still raining not too cold during the day around 15c but cooler again in the evening and damp - so heating back on here in NW Corfu. This weather is providing the ideal feeding conditions for snails - munching through our lettuces. Aris has been out every evening once dark with his torch and collects them all and moves them into the woodland closeby. If we were on the island of Spetses, these snails would be washed and made into a casserole with a tomato, onions based sauce. Thankfully I am in Corfu !!! Happy Thursday All x ??? ???

Hi everyone,
The webcam has been repaired ( again) I have even managed to try some live images with a time-delay of 2 seconds in this page.

Thank you so much Dimitris, very much appreciated, it looks wonderful...

Hear hear! Much improved...
-
Looks fab, better than the rain and grey skies here!
-
Alas, looking at the webcams makes me rather sad and upset that I won't be seeing that beach and sunshine this year. I can smell the souvlaki, and it's fourteen months until I can can stroll in the edge of the waves beside Mistral, have a dip in the sea, rinse off the salt under the beach shower, and have lunch with a cold Mythos. It's cruel!

Oh dear Jim, it's like torture, isn't it.Let's hope they have some kind of season this year...
-
How eerie is that view today. Brilliant sunshine and no-one on the beach. Weird.
-
A good one to set as your Desktop/device background... :)
-
Love the Timelapse. Great to see when we cannot be there. Thank you.:)
-
and it's fourteen months until I can can stroll in the edge of the waves beside Mistral,
I'm sorry I'm not meaning to poke fun at you but I'm just picturing someone Can-canning through the waves! ;D

It could never last and is why those webcams are so nice ..... Rain, rain!
-

Yes trying to rain here. Could do with a good downpour, for the gardens, but through the night!
-
Here in Hull we have cold, occasionally drizzling, weather. It's gone back to winter. Meanwhile, how lovely the beach looks with no ranks of sunbeds and the air clear and - well - just perfect.
-
Forecast for here does not look good for the next 2 weeks... let's hope they have it wrong!
-
Doesn't look good there today. Mind you it ain't good here either. :(
-
Much needed rain in the last couple of days :)
-
Yes we had a wonderfully bright and noisy Thunder and Electric storm lasting all through the night into the early hours. However at 09.00 the sun was out the sky mostly blue with some cloud cover. However then the rain started again and once again the sun came out - however just after 12 noon it is now mostly grey with some promise of more rain later - slightly breezy but mild around 23c... Happy weeekend everyone ....... 8) 8)
-
Happy weekend Lesley!
-
It’s looking very murky out there in AS…. Sunshine here in Compo land, but freezing when it disappears !
-
It does look very murky. Tried Nafsika webcam again and it's not even recognising the website??
-
Yes, Nafsika link disappeared the other day, I'm guessing they are changing host or packing it in as a cam....
-
Sun out now up the hill in Avliotes at 5pm here - forecast good for tomorrow around 27c Aris just prepped the meat and peppers etc for BBQ Sunday - I am making tsatsiki for tomorrow too - keep well All xx

That all sounds yummy, Lesley :)

I am definitely missing the Nafsika webcam too.
Hope you enjoy your barbeque Lesley :)

We had a gyros last week with homemade tsatsiki, my favourite and only contribution to the meal. Gorgeous.
-
I had egg and chips
-
It's great to have the live camera back - and it's better than ever!!
Thanks, Dimitri !!!!!

I was a bit surprised to see how cool it has been there for the beginning of June. But looking at previous years and the average it’s quite normal. How easy we forget as I was sure when we often went at the end of May many years ago it was wall to wall hot sunshine. So for any future trips I’ll be looking at mid-June and mid-September as likely choices.
-
Jimbo, is that the nafsika webcam working again, as I still don't seem to be able to get it
-
Brilliant to see it back.

That's ok Charlie :)

Today Sunday is a typical normal June day here - warm, blue sky, you need shorts & a t-shirt and too hot to sit in the sun for too long, a slight breeze too...... Now at 4.30pm it's siesta tome - Happy Sunday All x

Jimbo, is that the nafsika webcam working again, as I still don't seem to be able to get it
In regards to the Nafsika webcam Spiros posted on Facebook that hes had the IT guy looking at it and had 'good and bad' news.
The guy fixed the camera (good news 8)) but he is having some problems connecting the fixed camera to the internet (bad news >:()
they are hoping to get it up and working this week.
-
Thank you let's hope he gets it fixed, I miss looking at that every morning
-
Wonder if the pool is filled yet? :)
-
Will people be allowed to use the pools? Perhaps Lesley would know.
-
Will people be allowed to use the pools? Perhaps Lesley would know.
Good question!
-
Yes you will be allowed however we await next updates from the Government how it will all work - or check Chloe's updates as we have Government guidelines updated and reviewed all the time..... presently they have only advised re sunbeds and distancing.....
-
Thank you Lesley.
-
Still no web cam :(
-
Really missing the web cam too :'(
-
It's back on.
-
On such a beautiful day, how eerie is it to see the beach empty. Sad :'(
-
Another beautiful day, another with an empty beach. Wish I was there as I look out at the pouring rain here in south east Wales. Yuk.
-
But just think how much more special it will be when you do get back there…. :)
-
Well as of now 7.09pm on the 24th the webcam picture reminds me of Turner's "Rain, Steam and Speed" painting. Strange.

Yep, all does not look well with that cam view...
-
As per my question on the Nafsika webcam thread (what can I say, I'm a prat) How do you say "Spit on the lens and give it a wipe" in Greek?
-
Φτύστε τον φακό και σκουπίστε τον.
-
That is impressive!
-
Thank you for cleaning the web cam, the beach and sea look beautiful!
-
Thank you for cleaning the web cam, the beach and sea look beautiful!
It certainly does look smart, number of cars there and the wooden boards going out from the Waves... Activity!
-
Grrrrrrrrr. So frustrating. What I would give to be on that beach, sinking a few at lunchtime at Manthos, working up to an evening at one of the many fantastic taverna's (take your choice) followed by a few more sherbuts in Bar 38 then a leisurely stroll home to Fedra, a nightcap with Dimi, then bed. Bliss.........and repeat for 14 days or more.
If we don't get away this year wait until next year I reckon. The place will be buzzing.......hope so anyway. 8)
-
I know TB. This would have been our second day there. So after a few hours on the beach and a cold beer at Silver Moon, we would, shower, nap and then off to Nafsika for maybe, kleftiko, wander down to see Spiros at Bar 38, over to Condor for a boogie, finishing off at Athens, for a nightcap with Nikos....and tomorrow would be the same..albeit, I may have the roast chicken..... :)
-
Terrific pictures of the beach today even this early 8.19am BST.
-
Yeah, it looks a beautiful morning on the beach. Only thing that's missing is me and the wife 😊 not long now. 12 days to go. At least it's sunny here in Penarth 🌞👍
-
What makes it worse for us that, as I write, we should have just arrived at Corfu airport, en route to Nafsika for three weeks. And here it's been the coldest July I can remember. It was thirteen degrees max yesterday - but it might struggle up to seventeen today :-(
Ah well - only 357 days to go to next time...
-
Great to hear the resort springing to life again
Looks like there will be an avalanche of places opening once the tourists start to arrive on the 15th/16th
-
there are people today-on sunbeds, in the sea. I have a tear in my eye (and not just cos I'm jealous as I'm at my civil service desk!!!)

The fact we're at a time when people should be there but can't and the weather here is awful makes everything even worse I think.

Yes just saying on the other thread, that sea mist can be a bit eerie! They must be in for another scorcher? 8)

Forecast looks like it could get hotter, saying it was 37c Friday. A nice 14c here, real feel 11c ::)

About 20 here at the moment, feels quite fresh though :)

Looks gorgeous there now :)

Looks like Waves have put more sunbeds out, must be getting busier. Nice to see Kamini open when I looked on the Nafsika webcam last night.
-
Are there watersports on the beach this year i can’t see the pontoon on the webcam ?
-
On the Nafsika webcam it looks like it's still parked beside the old harbour.
-
Gosh the sea is a long way in this morning :)
-
Thunderstorm last night Karen, pouring it down this morning.

Aah, didn't know that Winkie, that explains it, thank you :)

Pretty unusual weather for this time of year ?
-
Some flights being diverted to Preveza this morning. FR showing delays at CFU, apparently really bad storm around Corfu.
-

Gosh, very unusual, hope it clears soon.
-
Looking at lightningmaps.org the storm is now to the north east of Greece, cams are looking great, very clear and yes as if a storm had went through last night.... We've seen a few storms there over the years during the first weeks of the school holidays...
-
... a further later look at the storm situation shows another one moving south down the coast of Italy, they often miss Corfu, but who knows - you may get another...!
-
On the Nafsika webcam it looks like it's still parked beside the old harbour.
I wonder why they havent started now the tourists are there ?
-
Looks beautiful on the beach this morning :D
-
It does look lovely :)
-
Saw some people out on the Ringo's a few days ago........
-
Yesterdays storm caused damage and floods I read. Another one getting close today.
-
Yes, seems to already be going off up north of the airport :(

Always amazed me that they let cars on the beach at all....!
-
Always amazed me that they let cars on the beach at all....!
Yes, I wouldn't want to be sitting there. Perhaps there is no parking nearby or they're just lazy :)
-
Where else would they park? If they didn't park on the beach they'd only clutter up the roads and they're narrow enough. I admit it doesn't look very nice but so long as they park neatly and away from people I don't think there is an option. Most of them are probably day trippers from other parts of the island.

Couldn't agree more. It's not as if they park up in the only place there is to sit is there. It's never been a problem as far as I'm concerned.
-
I don't know about parking, there may be other areas to park, a little walk away. Definitely spoils the look of the beach, imo :)
-

I just find it a little odd that all the little village (much smaller than AS) beaches up the Northumberland coast I've been to they have proper parking places (albeit not many), mostly away from the beach in the village itself. A lot seem to use the main access near the stream, perhaps as intended. I just think it would be safer and better overall to have a drop off point and perhaps designated limited parking for those that need it. I certainly did not see as many cars racing along the sea front last year as I did many years ago, perhaps they have been stopped from doing so?
-
It's a tricky one, they obviously need people there, assuming they spend money, whilst they are there. I've just never seen so many parked up.
-
We've been going to Agios Stefanos for 11 years, and the beach parking has always been where it is now. What's the problem? The beach is vast. The parking area is small. I've never found it problem at all. Where, exactly, could another parking area be made? Apart from the beach, it's hilly, and the valley, apart from the very swampy area, is largely built up.
-
There seems to be a lot more cars this year, probably understandable, hopefully they are all spending money at the local bars and eateries. Just my opinion everyone :)
-
Definitely many more cars..let's hope the tide doesn't come in ;D
-
The car park looks awful today...sorry...
-
I agree with you Karen. Perhaps they will tarmac it next !
-
I appreciate they have to park somewhere, but they are almost up to the sunbeds now.
-
I think they should move the sunbeds to allow more cars.
-
The car-parking zone is clearly limited. Sunday is always busy as local people go to the beach.
-
I think they should move the sunbeds to allow more cars.
Nothing would surprise me.
-
I don't understand this sudden fixation on the car park. As Jimbo says the car park area is obvious and in all the years I've been going to San Stef I've never seen the beach so full that people have started to sunbathe where the cars park. It's a mystery to me this discussion.
-

A bit like Charlie post on smoking (as an ex-smoker I agree with some of it :P ) cars should be banned from public areas, especially beaches.... If you can't see the link, you need to think again! Does it matter how long we have been going there regards the debate, perhaps so... There are people on here I've noted have much more kudos than us in that respect, perhaps they can say how things were a long time back? Seriously, I don't think it's a fixation, just an observation that it does not look too good on the beach...
-
It is an observation. We have been going for 16 years and it has never been like this. I don't want to be sitting on a beautiful beach, looking at cars, it's like sunbathing in a car park.
-
I must admit, I have always found cars parked on the beach weird. It does spoil the view and I haven't witnessed this ANYWHERE else when I've been on my holidays.
-

It does spoil the view, Rod. There have always been a few, but nothing like this and you do get old cars that may be leaking oil. There are car fumes too.
-
I share TD's puzzlement over this. The only place close to the car parking area is Waves. The beach is two kilometres long. That's one and a quarter miles! Very few places have a beach that long.
I don't think the car park is any busier than it has been. There is simply nowhere else to park the cars and bikes, is there?
Personally, I find the massed ranks of sunbeds from the river to past Havana far more offensive.
-
But Jimbo the sunbeds pay to park there ::)
-
But Jimbo the sunbeds pay to park there ::)
They could pay a small charge, if they have to be there.
-
I’m with Karen and Rod on this, an accident waiting to happen with children etc.
I can only think of one beach in the UK that allows cars on the beach. Brean Sands in Somerset at a charge of £3.00 per day, but it’s well controlled.
Here in Devon we have many beaches and coves, some of them quite vast, some have parking nearby but many don’t
Get of your arse and walk is what l would say.
-
It's like when we go to North Norfolk, the car parks get full quickly. We find somewhere out of the way to park and walk as far as is possible for hubby, with our rucksacks.

We also enjoy the walk and is good exercise.

I used to go to the Pontins at Brean Sands as a child-do they park on the beach now? That would be weird as there used to be a pub between the park and the beach that had a massive car park where I assumed they cars would park!

Come on folks we are not charlies.... where are your old pics of how things were? Okay I'll have to dig out the Video8's and pick off the beach shots, but at least I know some of us have actually been there....

So am I Karen, just another project to sort (if ever) .

It was closed untill July this season because of the virus.

As I haven't been to San Stef this year I can only pass comment on what I see from the webcam much like everyone else, though it would be informative to hear from members who have been there this year on whether what they saw was out of the ordinary, though in years gone by I can remember the car park area being packed especially on Sunday's when the locals tended to visit. Never an issue. Not an eyesore either.
Here's a question for those of you who are concerned, will you be cancelling your holidays if the perceived issue persists? and just out of interest, where would you suggest these cars park in a village with narrow roads.
-
I don't remember it ever being this bad TB and in my opinion it is an eyesore. I wouldn't cancel my holiday but I doubt I would go on the beach for lunch and a few drinks, if I'm looking at a car park. :)
-
I'm coming to the conclusion you are correct TB. It's a long time between visits for us and it may well be longer going forward....
-
There have always been cars on the beach and they pose no problem at all. We go every day to that end of the beach and you don't see them apart from when you are walking past. As TB says there is nowhere in the village to park and all the roads are narrow and have to cater for deliveries, the lorries taking away the seaweed, boats attached to cars going to the harbour etc. It is a huge beach so there is plenty of room. At weekends locals come to the beach to enjoy it! It is not our beach, it is not our country, we all love the place so can we not let the local people look after their beach! Sorry, but I don't think it is up to us to judge.
-
Guess I'm just pernickity ;D
-
I have a solution. Ask the Avliotes council to bulldoze Athina and build a multi-storey car park. Cover it with ivy, and it will be one more step on the way to turning Greece into the Home Counties!
-

Great idea Jim. Actually there is a large area of wasteland down that road, that could be turned into car parking :)
-

It probably belongs to someone and I don't think they'll take too kindly if people start parking their cars there.
-
Of course it belongs to someone and it's a piece of wasteland, maybe they could charge a small fee :)
-
Also it is National Holiday fortnight with 15th August being the 3rd most important day in the Greek Othodox church many visitors (with cars) from mainland Greece and also Italians on holiday - I do believe from next week apart from local cars and some hire cars the beach will have less cars as people return back to work. The end of the beach above where I work never has any cars .......
-
I prefer that end of the beach, much quieter.
-
It's very quiet outside Mistral!

Ah of course Ferragosto and the Assumption, quite a busy time....

Mistral? View is a bit limited Jimbo or do you have your own secret cam? It's odd thinking of the place as we went there all the time many years ago, then last year a poor experience (or timing on our part) caused us to not go back. Still it was good to see it was rammed most days and nights, perhaps the guy was having a nap when we disturbed him! It's been rented out by many different people over the years with mixed results in the later years we were there (up to 2006). How long have the current people been there and do they live local? We still occasionally keep in touch with the lovely Pepi and it was superb to be remembered by her mum Helena when we spotted her in the garden when there last July.
-
Mistral has been great for years. Some locals and some from Sidari. Lovely fresh food. Spiros has taught me some obscure Greek words over the years. We really miss it. It's peaceful, very few people, and if we walk from there across the bridge it's like going to Clacton on a bank holiday.
Made some nice friends on that quiet beach, and done a lot of writing sitting in the shade with a Mythos, a nice view, and the prospect of fried zucchini and meatballs for lunch. Really miss it this year!

Well I did try, and what an age it took to get this far... Unfortunately the quality of the picture grab is really poor. If I can bring myself to it I'll try better software, but suspect it's just poor quality video and I'm no digging out the original tapes (yet). Nafsika May93 (https://drive.google.com/file/d/1dAERk281oKEWpllgJixY6cEt-j_9WRqT/view?usp=sharing)! I can't really show the grab of the very much younger current owner without his permission (or knowing if he will pay to stop it.... ;D )

Haha! Ok. I don't think he will mind ;D

Eat your heart out Jimbo as looking over the video of 1993 it was all like that, single row of brollies then on the Clacton side. Mind you I did also spot 2-3 cars down near the Vicky... One was way down trying to squash the nudies I guess...
-
Of course it belongs to someone and it's a piece of wasteland, maybe they could charge a small fee :)
Over the years I've seen Hotels ,apartments and shops built on what some might consider pieces of wasteland. When they started building next to Pele and Maria's we wondered what it was going to be and were told it was to be a hotel. There's no room for a hotel there surely we thought , but lo and behold by the following year there was The Little Prince. Likewise Thomas Bay sprang up between September one year and the following June
Fedra Mare was built on a bit of scrub land where Manthos used to keep his chickens and turkeys.
Just goes to show one man's bit of wasteland is another man's Real Estate.
No there weren't so many cars years ago , not many of the locals had a car and there weren't the number of tourists that there are now. We used to sometimes rent a car from Dino , anyone remember him? He used to live opposite Olympia, sadly passed away a few years ago. His cars were a bit ropey but they got us around and he was the only rental option in the village.
-
Sadly it is one of the things that worries me looking at the videos, who is still there! But some of the images make me realise how much the place has changed over the years. I'm sure I've seen other pictures much, much older that Peter has at the Kamimi Bar in the draw behind the bar. This is my last effort (https://drive.google.com/file/d/1slL4_haxaJoaKWzp8if7nyBbmfigH_RR/view?usp=sharing) showing how little there was on the beach at Jimbo's favourite end... When you actually see the end of the beach where outside of Mantos, Mistral and Waves in 1993/4 it looks awful, partly the seaweed, but also filthy with rubbish. Still there was us sitting next to the fishing boat oblivious of it all (that one I'm not allowed to capture :-[ ).
-
Great pictures Geordie...thank you :)
-
Yes geordieborn thank you for putting the photos on - really interesting to see :D

Super pics, thanks for sharing.

Anyone else having problems with the Nafsica webcam? I'm not able to connect.

Anyone else having problems with the Nafsica webcam? I'm not able to connect.
It was taking around 30-60 seconds to kick in yesterday, sometimes more.... But just tried and bright, but breezy day by the looks of it, took under 30 seconds today. Then again it may depend on your device, internet and browser. If it is too long I tend to leave it open and then go back a few minutes later.

Yes, seems like a never ending job keeping that cam clean. It’s slowly been getting a little more cloudy day by day :( .

I should have said earlier that staying logged in does not affect the bandwidth on the site, unless the live webcam is on and the page is open. Bandwidth is the amount of data transmitted, and as this site does not keep refreshing, and when it's idle zero data is involved.

Look at TCIP keep alive and I think you may find it may well use band width, little as it might be compared to video...
-
Ah yes, lovely indeed and at 27c ??? Mind you Nafsika cam needs a clean now!

Look at TCIP keep alive and I think you may find it may well use band width, little as it might be compared to video...
Assuming TCPKeepalive is on - which it isn't by default - it sends one packet every two hours. The default packet size is 536 bytes.
" Keep me logged in" does not keep the page alive. It just automatically re-connects if you leave the page and then go to it again. It uses a cookie, and will do nothing if you are not on that page. So you can do it or not do it. It's not wise on public computers - but quite safe at home.

We actually got breakfast outside here today. Okay we had to start with the fleece on, but by the time we finished it was lovely warm sunshine... Not quite the 28c it was in Corfu, but 19-20c suits us fine. Grass cut, now about to hack leaves off the tomato's and cut the none viable fruit and flowers to see if the rest will ripen. Waste of time in this country growing toms, so will stick to the successful garlic, chillies, broccoli and green beans next year... Reckon we mush have had 2-3kg of blueberries so far and still the same on just two potted bush, just hope Mr Blackbird stays off them!
-
Sounds lovely :) We've had a strange year in our garden this year. Not a very good crop of tomatoes, cucumber or potatoes. We have had random things dieing this year, all well established plants of 20 years plus. 2 rambling roses, 1 climber, a buddlea tree and a few lupins. We think it was the very hot May and wet June we had. Very disappointing...
-
We've got lots of tomatoes turning red, we've had courgettes, and the runner beans are in full crop. It's breezy, but a lovely day in East Yorkshire.
-
Love runner beans straight from the garden. Just cut a lot of leaves from the tomatoes, hoping the remaining few will turn red. We grew a beefsteak type this year called black Russian, it was so tasty and not many seeds inside, very fleshy.

Old (young) Monty was on Friday saying exactly that about your toms Karen, take off any leaves covering the toms and all under developed toms and flowers and of course they should be stopped by now. What I did not know was that it's not just the lack of heat and sun, but change in light duration that matters. He reckons we have until mdi-Oct then they won't do anything....
-
Yes that's where I saw it, Geordie. Love gardeners world! There was a nice article in the mail supplement about Monty don, he was talking about Nigel. Monty has got a book coming out, might get it. He's just become a grandad too. :)
-

Jimbo are these toms in a greenhouse or outdoor? I greatly miss my old greenhouse of 30 years, no suitable space for one here, so the few toms we have were grown outdoors and the most successful believe it or not were a few supermarket tom seeds scraped out and put straight into a couple of hanging baskets in June!
-
Outside. Three plants in a trough against a six-foot wall. We didn't think many were going to redden, and were about to prepare to make green tomato chutney. I think they must have heard and felt ashamed!
-
people on beach now, with a dog??
Yes, it was a chihuahua actually. We walked passed them today on the beach. They had it on a lead and it was a delightful character, barking at the sea etc. I know what you mean though.

The wife and I had a mezze at Gravia this afternoon and their giant beans are delicious.

Sounds delicious Rod. Are you having a good holiday? :)

Beautiful :)

Where is Gravia? And also where is the laundrette? I cannot picture either of them. As we are (hopefully) going for 11 days may need to do some laundry once we have slopped stifado everywhere! :o
-
Gravia is between San Stef and Arillas. I haven't been but I'm sure someone else will be along to help you. Not sure about laundrette, but I think they do your laundry and deliver it back to you.
-
Just found an old thread. Laundrette is on arillas road, past Tasty Corner ;)
-
Thanks Karen. I am currently sitting at my desk at work looking at google maps of SS and picturing us there! Fingers crossed they can hold off locking us out for at least another week!
-
Haha! I'm sure you'll be fine :)
-
I don't think the laundrette is there anymore. I certainly don't recall seeing it last Sept when staying at Rose Gardens.
-

Oh that's a shame..
-
The launderette is still there but not open due to COVID restrictions it is located next to the Olive Wood shop just opposite Barola and next to 3W's....... we miss it too as I also get our duvets cleaned come Spring/Summer ready for our Winter use...... may need to just buy new ones for this Winter instead.......
-
We stayed at the Perros this time last year and the launderette was definitely OPEN. It's next door to the olive wood shop - I think the owners are brothers?

Thanks Lesley, that makes sense.
-
Never used the laundry so I dunno where it is now. To get to Gravia, either go up one of the roads/tracks to the top of the headland. Our favourite is the path that starts before Yiannis and Vaso to the top - then left past Akrotiri (which we prefer to Gravia) down the slope, and straight across is Gravia, overlooking Arillas bay or alternatively keep on the Arillas road past 3Ws and up the windy hill. After a bit there is junction - go straight across and up a lovely road until you get to the top. Gravia is on the left.

Yes, we had nearly given up on them and then in the last week or so we had lots going red! Don't think it would have happened tho' if we hadn't had this last burst of sunny days! It is a bit of fun tho! We, like you so better on the runner beans! We scatter them round our friends! Must try blueberries. ;)

Thanks Lesley-well its quite simple then, either we eat all our meals in the Vicky pool or we consume nothing but vodka and gin so as not to stain anything we wear! ;D

Not many on the beach today, looks like the tide has been in quite a way.

Oh yes, I see that :)

Just had a look at www.lightningmaps.org and if the storm just off their coast hit (as it looks it might) it could be bad!

Car headlights on, brollies are out and looking very dark behind Kamini, spotted a couple of flashes when viewing. Quite surprised they seem laid back by it as tables are still out, perhaps they know better :-\ . A number of people still in the sea...
-
Just saw Spiros having a sweep up around the pool... :)
-
Fortunately, looking at the pattern of the old strikes, main storm will miss the resort, which looks quite busy and very wet just now?

The sea is very choppy this morning and right up on the beach..

Certainly does

Lots of cars on the beach today, looks like they may be surfing, not the cars, of course ;D

Don't think it's just a dirty lens, it looks quite foggy there today if you have a look at the Nafsika webcam.

raining nearly all day long!

It's that time of year, I guess..

Sad to see the umbrellas taken down today :'( Look forward to seeing them go up again May time. Many thanks to Dimitris keeping the webcam going and Angelos for using the Waves roof.
-
What a beautiful day :)
-
Yes it looks like a perfect day Karen doesn't it? :)
-
It does, Diane...perfect day for a walk :)
-
Look at that beautiful beach this morning :) I would love to be jogging along there instead of heading out into the rain ::)

Certainly looks nice this morning.
-
Oh to switch off and walk along that beach by myself would be heaven at the moment, with things like they are in the world.
-
Just been looking at Nafsika webcam, some tourists have just wandered in to Manthos so they must still be open for business, it was all out up last night certainly.
The few holidaymakers there are the only ones still in shorts and t-shirts , the locals must be feeling the chill as they are wearing long trousers and sweaters .
-
Meant to say Manthos was all lit up last night , and is again tonight.
-
Lovley view from Nafsika cam :)
-
Not nice over there today but having said that its chucking it down here in south Wales as well.
-
According to the BBC we're having "transient weather". I thought all weather was transient?????
-
In Wales its more transient than here on the east coast!!!
-
It's just raining here ;D
-
Heavy Rain and storms overnight here - sun trying to break through this morning - however more rain is forecast for several days to come...... Chilly wind too....
-
We had heavy rain, now we have heavy snow, in the fens, the fields do look lovely though, not good for people travelling..
-
We have snow in Essex today will have to find my boots.
-
We have snow in Essex today will have to find my boots.
Haha, me too!
-
Beautiful there today, beautiful.
-
Yes Sunday (yesterday) was a lovely Bright but Breezy day however around 5pm the very thick grey clouds arrived & we had very heavy rain overnight and thunder. This morning I awoke to a lovely sunny and blue sky - have a look now at 09.30 it is very dark and more storms will arrive any moment. The forecast is for the whole week to be very wet, so we expect more heavy rain to last at least until the forthcoming weekend. Quite mild in fairness Sunday reched 19c today its already 13c but much cooler now once the sun drops and the heating is needed for sure. Wishing everyone a great week ahead......
-
Dimitris, many thanks for setting up the new camera. It has such great definition and brings us many memories. I just wonder if we could get a bit more of the AS atmosphere by turning it slightly to the right to see some of Mistral, Waves and the rest of the beach. Just my thoughts to get an even greater view of this lovely area without detracting too much from the sea and waves. Thanks again and a Happy, Safe and Prosperous New Year to all in Agios Stefanos.
-
There are surfers in the sea (Sunday 10.00am BST). Looks great.
-
Wet there today.
-
Should you visit the webcam this morning it is hard to believe yesterday evening we had huge hailstones and a wild storm. Today the sky is a clear blue and whilst it may appear to be sunny the temperature at 10.00 is a cool 4c and with the wind chill factor -1c. For those whom ask what's the weather like come Winter. Happy Thursday to All.
-
Brrrrrrr. That's colder than south Wales today Lesley. We're positively balmy in 8 degrees.
-

Balmy 6 here, and snowing :(.
-
Today - Friday - It's a lovely day in Corfu and a lovely day in Hull. Unfortunately, it's 16C in Corfu and 1C in Hull!
-
We are due snow tomorrow :)
-
Must have been a storm there last night as the beach is full of seaweed where there was none there yesterday. You can also see the snow on the mountains in Albania as referenced by Lesley yesterday.
-
Wow, what a mess, seen it like this many times, but the locals are on the ball to clean it up come the season start.
-
Very blustery again today - rain on the way - very grey and chilly.
-
Can't get a picture today.
-
Ignore previous post as I have a picture now.
Grim there today though grim there is better than grim here I suspect. Though as I look out of my front window the cherry tree in our garden has a beautiful pink blossom which I find myself gazing at more and more often.
-
I love the blossom, we have plum trees with white blossom on at the moment..albeit the strong winds are blowing it off!
-
My, there is a lot of seaweed washed up in the last day or so. Manthos 'Towers' look impressive! If anyone out there can take a photo, I would like to see the development.
-
Look a bit wonky to me Kernock.
-
Hello again!
following your views and suggestions, we have managed to move the position of your favourite webcam .
I think the view now is much wider and gives you a better idea of what is going on in San Stefanos Beach.
Many thanks to Andreas the new Manager of Manthos Taverna for helping me to complete the work.
See you soon,
Enjoy the view

WOW!, that is incredible, just look at that beach now :o. Thank you Dimitris, very kind of you sir.
-
Very panoramic. Cheers

Thank you Dimitris! It looks fantastic!
-
That looks great! Thanks so much Dimitri!
-
That's fantastic - thank you Dimitris
-
Good work Dimitris.
-
Wonderful view. Thank you.
-
Good to watch a couple of men working on Manthos' Arc de Triomphe yesterday. The cladding on the framework is now complete. I wonder what colour it's going to be? I'm betting on blue.
-
White going on at the moment Jim :)
-
Busy today undercoating - and the sun's coming through at last it looked like rain earlier - as we are allowed to drive to the beach at weekends now could be busier later - Happy Easter today for those celebrating x......
-
I did think when I saw them painting the other day that it looked as if it was going to be blue ,but realised later that it only looked darker because the the paint was still wet.
-
Hope the sunbeds at Manthos are going to be put back in place, an amazing elevated view from them, and so peaceful, spent many hours lying there 8).

Same here Winkie. Then a leisurely lunch and drink followed by an afternoon doze.....bliss.
-
Lots of the seaweed has returned to where it came from, looks fabulous again today.
-
You were right Jimbo, the arch is indeed being painted pale blue.
-
JCB clearing the seaweed earlier, was loads washed ashore, guess it was pretty rough seas yesterday.
-
Pretty miserable there today.
-
Yes it's rather grey and rain is on the forecast - thankfully the wind has dropped and now it's more a light breeze and quite mild.
-
I would get on a plane and go there right now, I dont care what the weather's like :-* :-* :-* :-*
-
Looks rather bleak today, oh, and another structure at Manthos, one wonders what this might be ???.
-
It is grey with drizzle and damp. Indoors with heating on all day. Hard to believe this is Corfu at almost the end of April. App says real feel 5c. Let us hope it brightens up next weekend for our Easter here....
-
Well it certainly has both brightened and also warmed up for our Easter Weekend. Happy Easter All x
-
And a Happy Easter to you Lesley. It's bright and sunny here in Herts but not very warm.
-
Happy Easter Lesley-seems weird to say that when our came and went! Hope the Easter Bunny brings you some galaxy!
-
Just look at the beach today, pristine, looks like a wee bitty concrete work done at Manthos too 8).
-
Work at Manthos continues, looks like a cubicle is being erected around the shower at the entrance from the beach and the sunbed area still being worked on. Hopefully the sunbeds will remain.
Plus there is a tractor mowing the sand in front of Mistral 😂
-
Beautiful day today Sunday, a clear blue sky with a gentle breeze and mild - already 24c at 10.00 hours - he advises we will have a BBQ. Happy Sunday All x
-
Sunbeds under the arch, waiting to go out 8)
-
And yesterday there was a JCB smoothing the beach. It looks great.
-
Yes, it's a beautiful day. Warm, sunny and calm. Happy Tuesday All 8)

Web cam a bit dusty, can't see much!
-
Please can someone clean the webcam :)
-
The webcam is not very clear..but do I see sunbeds on the beach?
-
I've pmd Dimitris to get somebody to shin up on the Waves roof and wipe the lens.
-
I hope he's got long arms, the camera is on Manthos' roof.
-
;D
-
I'm old. Very old. You're cruel.
-
Is that the sunbeds out in front of The Waves I see?
-

It's nice to see them out.let's hope they get used soon!
-
Looks beautiful today..shame to see the beach empty..
-
It's so strange to see the beach so deserted.
Im still hoping to go in August as planned :-*
-
Would someone be kind enough to post the webcam link again as I can't seem to locate the original?
Thanks, I'll save it in my favourites!

There seems to be a few more people wandering along the beach this morning, bit of a cloudy day though x

Sahara Dust very warm ÷ 40c is the forecast for later this week. A.C in our home this evening

Yes me too..
-
The beach is looking beautiful this morning :) :) :)
-
I prefer the new view, since it shows Mistral and not the car park.
Both cameras are good quality. The problem is salt and Sahara dust keep fogging the lens.
My personal wish would be have sound on the webcams as well. Would be great for the airport camera.
-
I would like a webcam round the Tasty Corner area you would see what's happening down the main street 😊

I thought she was heading to the far end of the beach!
It’s gone from rough waves the last few days back to still as a millpond today.

Sea looks lovely today.

I see the mist has come in today!
-
Thank you for cleaning the webcam, lovely and clear!
-
Yes, much appreciated :)

Gorgeous Day today I wish I could go for a walk down the beach :) :) :)

Judging by the video on the web of the storm (Ballos) that hit on the 15th I doubt Corfu will be back to normal for a while - awful for the folk there! Jimbo was lucky to miss it, else coming back may have been a lot worse!
-

From what I've been reading San Stefanos and the north in general got off relatively lightly from last weeks storms. The south from Benitses down to the Messonghi/Lefkimmi area took the brunt of the storm. Some of the businesses down that way have taken a bad hit with all the flooding, looks bad from some of the pictures I've seen.
-
Yip. The airport webcam's been off for nearly two weeks. But it looked pretty dreadful all over.
Mind you - Corfu's annual rainfall is slightly higher than the UK.
-
Just tried to get onto nafsika webcam and that seems to be off noticed people on mathos sunbeds today
-
Yes been off for a couple of days..
-
Messy there today.
-
Yes today we have heavy cloud, dull, lots of rain and windy too. Indoors with the a/c on warm as feels damp even though the app says it's 16c feels cooler. Happy Thursday All x
-
I assume the beach cam got a good old thumping the other day in the wind, hence very blurred ... A few people around today and I spotted next years menu grazing on the Manthos parking area ;D !

Yep GB, spotted them going along the beach earlier 8).

Hope they don't eat Andreas astroturf.

When I counted in October there were about 20. Lovely to watch from the Nafsika balcony.
I don't think they were stretched out on the sunbeds on the AstroTurf! They were munching the grass in the carpark just past Manthos on the way to the church. I asked George to go and grab one for supper but he politely declined - at least I think he was polite: he said something in Greek that sounded like "maraca" but I didn't think they used those in Greek music.

Some very dark clouds behind Anatoli at the moment !
-
Rained heavily overnight. Awoke to thunder and more rain early morning. A bit of sunshine midday now grey damp and more rain. Log fire blazing. Enjoy your Monday evening xxx

Kalimera -Another yukky morning here in NW Corfu - more heavy rain, thunder, grey and damp. The forecast is much the same for the week. It's 14c at the moment - Happy Tuesday All x

Beach cam sparkles again, but shows the beach took a big hit. Amazing how it gets put back right okay every time... 8)

Glad to say the forecast was incorrect today we have a lovely bright sunny day and already 15c at 09.30 hrs.
-
Yep, looking very nice there today, snow forecast here Friday night!
-
A few surfers in the sea this afternoon!
-
Raging sea today right up to the wall of the Mistral and Manthos at least.
-
Yes it is very blustery today, sunny spells but much colder. The wind feels as if it's blowing in from Albania. Already have the heating on as midday here just 9c. We had hailstones yesterday evening. So really a typical Winter's Day here in Corfu....... Happy Tuesday All x
-
Can anyone get the live cam? Maybe they don't bother with it through the winter..
-
Karen I can't get it either :(
-
If it's the beach cam it has been saying "Webcam momentarily down for maintenance " for me for at least a week I think... ???
-
Aaw...thank you
-
Well, the webcam has been down for so-called maintenance for over a month as far as I can see!
Hopefully it's not just me

No, it's down here. It could be anything from equipment or simply time/money to do something about it. It was very nice of them to put it there whilst it lasted, and you never know it might be back! Nafsika cam is looking great today 8)

Beautiful there today with snow on the distant Albania mountains.

Some repeats are well worth watching over and over again. Mind you it is only 8c according to AccuWeather - 9c here in Yorkshire!
-
Whilst it may look beautiful as we have a clear blue almost cloudless sky it is a chilly 5c and we expect -2c this evening just up the hill here in Avliotes. - Dreading the next electric bill - Happy Weekend All x
-
Just seen four punters come off the beach and go into Manthos.
-
I often wonder “is that so and so I’ve just spotted” , but as good as the cam is, it’s not good enough… Except for Manthos that is as there is no one else like it with that walk of his…. Always good to see the old git is alive and kicking still as we’ve lost so many… It looks very busy there this morning....
-
Spiros was watering plants at Nafsika yesterday, and there's a pipe in the pool now. Nothing like watching other people work!
-
Tables out in Manthos. Are there many holidaymakers around already?
-
There are people in the sea.......bbrrrrrrr
-
Brollies and sunbeds now out at Mistral. Great to see that, even if we have nine weeks to go!
-
When the kids were young we used often go as early as May, but normally the very end of May. There was always a risk of a day or two with some rain, even an odd very entertaining thunderstorm! Looking at the long term forecast I wonder if much has changed as I see the temperatures all of a sudden jump in June. A long way off for forecasters, but the end of July looks a tad hot (33-34c). It often does change, but a lot of the time it actually turns out even hotter than predicted! I wonder how many find the water even cooler when it’s hotter than just now. I know it did not stop our kids going in the pool or sea on those early holidays, but it did put us off ::) !

Not sure re climate change etc - however when we married here on 14th June back in 2003 it was the hottest day of the Summer at 42c. I had to have a few frou frou layers taken out of the frou frou dress for the Church - it was so hot when they threw the rice it stuck to my back - perhaps not the best photos for album LOL.....
-
Lovely story!
-
God it looks wet. I've never known weather like that in the day in June. The odd storm yes but those were mainly overnight.
-
Forecast has got some more next week as well!!
Well that did not happen thankfully, got as far as the Pindus mountains.
-
Glorious view this morning, that beach looks amazing, wish we were back 8).
-
To be honest Winkie I have just come back from Devon and Blackpool sands is by far better. Google it and you will see.
-
OMG, that takes me back. When i was a kid we used to go to Pontins at Brixham and would usually visit Blackpool sands at least once in the holiday-the first place I ever paddles up to my (non existent at the time) chest! ;D
-
A tad warm there at the moment.
-
Beach is looking the busiest I've seen it this year....

We came home on Monday, and the week before it was very busy on the beach, particularly in front of Athina and Mango area. The village was busy at night too. Lots of other nationalities around too.

Well, I'm sure it will be a tad warmer than those I was watching in the North Sea the other week! Very clear sky there today after the rain I spotted yesterday... Nice to be able to pop in for a pick-me-up...
-
Looks beautiful today! Raining here again, but quite mild for November.
-
Looks a lovely sunny day there today too.

Wonderful light there today. but looks like it might have been a little wild weather! WE have a reel-feel of -6 here in Yorkshire at the moment :'(

Just had a look at the webcam, looks like new double sun loungers outside Manthos. Very nice!

It certainly looks a lovely calm day there. Perhaps a bit sharp off the mark with the sunbeds !
-
Lovely blue sky there today, loungers look cool too.
-
The sunbeds at Manthos are the ones he made last year but he’s adding cabana things to them this year. There’s a JCB there today on sun bed area on the other side of the path up to Manthos. Andreas keeping busy preparing for the new season!
