Holistica may be able to help as she drove from Scotland to SS.....(Ton/Don/H46...so you knew she was clever but I bet you didn't know she was so brave eh?):))))))

I think the best way is probably not to go along the west coast - but to cross over to Corfu Town and follow the better coast road (well almost coast road), down south to Moraitika (just before Messongi Beach) then it goes inland for a bit before turning left at a Big Junction & along the main road running in the centre of the "tail-end" of Corfu -
follow this all the way down to Kavos.

You need a good map and you should plan your Journey by noting the villages you pass through and driving
"Village to Village" as it's the easiest way to route plan.
You can buy a fantastic Map which is mentioned in other posts, hand drawn by a map maker and artist.
I bought two as they are really good, from a chap who went round Corfu with a Sat device and recorded accurately, every single road that was drivable.
He is now in England and I can supply the address and email if you wish - the only truely accurate map I have seen!
I guess you should allow 2 to 2 1/2 hours for a through Journey, but I would stop and check a few of the little real old Greek Tavernas on the way!!

Thanks for the advice, I was planning to drive via west coast and then hit the main road at Ag. Mattheos.

Your route looks a much better option, a clear path and more main road. I'm using a map I got from Spiro's at the quad hire.

I've had it for years, many folds and not so much detail.

We will get up early for that journey and the time you suggest to get there seems fine as long as I don't get lost, I've got lost before but some how always manage to get back on track......................

Can't wait to go now & thanks again

The west coast drive is nice and you can go through the Ropra Valley, but takes much longer, some dodgy roads as well!!
Lots of mini mountain roads!! Good driving the way I suggested!
Enjoy Kavos - (yuk) - great beach - but too much 18-30 madhouse for me!
Not as friendly as S S, well you wouldn't be either working with that lot!!!

Yannis the guy who ran our pool bar during the day, gave us some great places to explore for the 3 days we had the Jeep, but Korrison Lake wasn't one of them, we did go there, but from where we were, there was very little to see other than a large expanse of water, we didn't even get out of the Car! so unless there is another vantage point (probably is) I'd give it a miss.

Must agree with Colin there Clare, Korrison Lake was a let-down!!
You will come across some great villages though, and some 'unusual' buildings as you progress to the south!
There are better photo opportunities, and the landscape changes a lot down south!!

Clare?

Have you been up to the Monastery on top of Moni Pantokrator? it's really worth a look, the scenery is spectacular, the Monastery has been refurbished, and looks lovely, on the road leading into the Monastery you'll see some stalls selling cheap and tatty toys, also one or two items of food, to me it was a very strange place to find this, They looked like they could have been Gypsies or similar, possibly over from Albania, worth a look tho  8)

Must agree about the views from Mount Pantokrator. The only thing we didn't like was the mast /aerial spoiling the look of the monastery.
