Avliotis bypass
« on: July 27, 2014, 03:10:26 PM »
Does anyone know whether the (almost) new Avliotis bypass road has been finished? It's been awaiting the small section that crosses a gulley to be finished for about 4 years. It can(or could probably) be done in a 4x4 and would make the journey to Sidari etc. much easier.

It's easily passable now on any sort of vehicle, there's a section in the middle about 200 metres long that still needs tarmac, so probably another 4 years to get that done, I'll speak to the President of the Council to see if he can gee it up.

I used it several times last week and it is fine, a bit bumpy and dusty in the middle but even here it's better than many roads in Corfu!

It knocks a good 10 minutes of the drive to Sidari.

As above, and on the plus side you can now have a peaceful wander and meal in the village. :)
