Thanks Di, it was really nice to meet you, your husband, and your lovely grandson, loved the fact he painted it in his fave football team colours!

Another lovely hot and sunny day, in fact possibly hotter than ever today!

Many people by pools and in the sea to cool down.

Just been for a wander, and a paddle in the sea, to cool down ourselves...Athens Bar, Condor, and El Greco all busy, and Bar 38 doing pretty well too.

All the sand by the sunbeds in front of Delfino Blu was being raked nice and neat ready for the morning, we tried hard to keep Bod out the way so he didn't muck it up with his paw prints  :D

Phew, today has been Hot Hot HOT!!!

Alittle bit of breeze on the beach, but quite still in the village, so it was feeling pretty warm!

Tonight is still quite busy....some people waiting to be picked up, and lots of new arrivals tonight who have been walking around, either getting their bearings, or saying Hi to friends from the village.

Think some must have arrived a little peckish, as Yiannis, Lubranos, and Tasty Corner all have late customers tonight. Most of the tavernas have now finished for tonight, but the bars are doing OK, with plenty of drinkers in Silver Star, and some in Kamini and Nafsika, when we just did our late dog walk.

Getting hotter...........and apparently there is a heatwave heading towards Greece in the next few days!!

Today must've been extra hot, as the temperature guage at San Stefanos Car Hire, which has been on the blink all summer and only registering 24 degrees even managed to push up to 29 today...meaning it must have been well into the 30's!!

The village is livelier later now too. Condor has their Boyonce tribute on, and has packed the place. Summer Dreams was still quite busy just after midnight too.

Woke up to gorgeouse sunshine, then at about half ten this morning a sea mist rolled in.

At first we were concerned it was smoke coming from Arillas, as it engulfed the headland between the 2 resorts, but the lack of smell, and a look at Arillas webcam showing their beach in a mist, confirmed that fortunately it was nothing more than sea mist!

And by lunchtime it was gone again, leaving us with a very hot and sunny afternoon.

This evening karaoke is proving popular at Condor, (we can hear the singing!), and meanwhile Aquarius has lots of regulars sat out on their patio enjoying a quiet drink/

Thanks again for the daily news , we've been and gone to SS this year so the reports which once aided the countdown and anticipation levels have now been replaced by a tinge of sadness - as we can't get back any time soon .However your reports now  bring a sense of well being and understanding as you describe the comings and goings, we can picture the scene in our minds eye, so keep them coming. For the anoraks among us this thread has over 49,000 views ! and is well on the way to being the most viewed topic ever! No pressure then Hippopots !  ;D

Awww, thank Sellsy, kind words.

My inspiration for this thread came from our friend 'Eggy', who started a similar thread on arillas.com on 8th August 2007. Got a little way to go to catch up with his current views of 996,159 views, but he has got a 6 1/2 year head start, so who knows how many we'll have in 7 years time! ;D

So today has been hot and sunny, and no sea mist today. A bit of a breeze on the beach gave a little respite from the heat, but probably also some unexpected sunburn for some!!

Tonight there were lots of people out for dinner, maybe some on their last night. Most tavernas between here and the beach were very busy when I took the dog for a walk, with Mediterannean Village, Zorbas, 2 Stars, and Little Prince all packed, and Olympia, and Summer Dreams doing well too.

Still reading your lovely posts and wishing I was there!   Just wanted to give a wee review of Hippopots!

We arrived in San Stefanos on 4th July.  On Sunday 6th we decided to have a few hours out of the sun and headed for Hippopots.  You made us feel most welcome and we loved our couple of hours with you, blethering about your life in San Stefanos, setting up your business, your time in Florida etc.  What interesting lives you both lead!!

We each chose to paint a mug - 3 different shapes - and three very different outcomes!  Painting them in the shade was a lovely relaxing experience.

We loved walking by every day and shouting hello to you and Bod, it felt like being at home!

We picked up our glazed mugs a few days later and were all delighted with them.  We'll treasure them forever as this was our first visit to SS.  Can't wait to come back next year and add something else to our handpainted collection!

(Can't seem to upload any photos but will post them to your Facebook page!  See you next year!)

Gill, Ralph & Leah!

Thanks Gill, Ralph and Leah! Hope we didn't bore you with our love of San Stef! But this really is home now, and we can't help but be enthusiastic about the place  ;D

And Silverstar, will be nice to see you....just to let you know we try and do the painting in the afternoons / early evening, whilst its still daylight, as we do it outside on the front patio.

Well, guess what, nice and sunny again.

Had a lovely frappe at the juice bar this afternoon whilst watching the world go by....sitting in the shade there was a nice gentle breeze to help keep cool.

Then onto a very busy beach, for a quick dip in the sea. Loads of cars parked up, and packed in tight in the parking area. There were some nice waves too, not too rough, and the sea was a very pleasant temperature.

A beautiful sunset again this evening, viewed nicely by the people eating in the tavernas in the older part of the village, all of whom were pretty busy tonight. Plenty of people enjoying the view from Fantasea, and some delicious aromas coming from all the tavernas as I walked by.

Thanks Di, glad he liked it. Have a safe trip home, and we'll see you all again soon!

Hot again, but with a lovely breeze again this afternoon, which took the edge off nicely.

Lots of people around this morning, including some first time visitors, getting their bearings. San Stef has a great repeat clientele (as we all know), but there seems to be alot of first timers this year, which is also nice to see.

At half past midnight, tonights various live music acts (in Condor, Thomas Bay, Acabar, and El Greco) have just finished, and many are now enjoying a drink afterwards.

Well, yesterdays breeze turned into a full blown mistral by this morning.....the wind was actually whistling through our doors!

Great for drying the washing, but maybe not so good for the beach! If you like surf, it has been great today, if you like it calmer and don't fancy getting sand blasted, sitting by one of the villages lovely pools was probably the better option for today.
Because although it's been windy, its most definately still been hot  ;D

Still enough breeze this evening for some of the tavernas to need to bring the plastic sidings into use, most noticably at Little Prince and the front glass was closed at Olympia....still nice and warm for eating out though, so can't complain!!

Hi - think we sort of met you when you was sat outside the juice bar the other day!! You were sat stroking Shane's dog who seemed to be falling asleep.  Had I realised it was you I would have said hi and thanks for all the updates!!!  There was another couple also there who was chatting to you so we didn't like to interfere but my husband was taken up with the dog!!  We are still in SS so if we get chance we will pop and say hi.
