Good to see you CABMUFC, you were looking relaxed within hours of getting here......thats the San stef effect!

Well, the only way to describe today is hot, hot ,hot!!! 8) We reckon its been the hottest day of the year so far, and Spiros and Aris of Spiros bikes agreed.
The best places to be today were either the pool or the sea.

Still, it does mean its also lovely weather for dining al fresco, and sitting outside a bar for a drink or 2
Beautiful sunset tonight so the tavernas overlooking the beach were a good place to enjoy it from.

Quite lively in the village, with music in Condor, and Athens Bar, but also places to enjoy a quiet one too, like Kamini in the old part, and a few people heading down to Aquarius too.

Once again we've had another glorious hot and sunny day  8)

And of course, sunny days bring with them fabulous sunsets, and tonights did not disappoint.

As the sun went down it created a lovely pinkish coloured haze, through which you could see the outline of Albania in the distance.

Then, as the sun dropped behind the islands, it turned a wonderful shade of red.

The newest addition to the village, Chilly Chilli beach bar opened today, with a party, which was going well when I passed this evening.
Situated between Athina and Vicky's, they have a terrace overlooking the beach, with a great view from their position above the sands. Nice to see the old building that was there renovated, and hopefully their hard work will be rewarded.

HOT hot hot! We're having a such great weather at the moment! 8)

Lots of people on the beach this afternoon, with sunbeds outside Waves and Athina pretty full.
Also, plenty of people in the sea, and a couple of brave souls on one of the rings being dragged behind a speed boat!

New visitors arriving today, including Mr and Mrs Waspman, who'd been up all night travelling, but still had the energy to be wandering around this afternoon.....nice to see you here again.

Well, its most definately hot  there has been mention of temperatures reaching 42 degrees today!

I'm not sure it got that hot at all last Summer. Lots of lazing by pools, and dipping in the sea is most definately in order, although judging by the big gaps where Spiros usually has his scooters and quads, plenty of people are also venturing out and about. Still some quads and scooters at Pegasus, but not that many there either.

So these hot days = hot evenings, meaning everyone can dine outside in comfort, and enjoy their evenings. Music on tonight at El Greco, courtesy of Groucho, and also Rhiannan tribute at Condor.

Thank you for your lovely updates Jackie.
Feels a while until we come in august and nice to hear life carries on in the village despite all the scaremongering in the media.
We are planning a trip to hippopots whilst we are on hols, and also lots of visits to give Bod, and all the other local dogs a good tickle.

Awww Nellie, thank you! And Bod loves a good tickle! ;D

Yes, life here is all carrying on as normal.....the press like to make up a good story, all we can hope is that people don't believe it!
We have food in the shops, beer in the pumps, cash in the Atm's, fuel at the garages, and that lovely big sun shining down on us every day.

And it was lovely and hot again today, with just a slight breeze which meant it was just a little less intense, but we're not complaining, as a customer has just told us its 12 degrees in Scotland at the mo!

Many people enjoying a good night out tonight......Bar 38 is busy, Brusco was virtually full, and Silver Star and Barras were also doing well.

Slightly overcast when we woke up this morning, but the sun broke through, and once again it was a very hot day.

Coaches rumbling in and out again today, taking people back to the airport, and picking up the new arrivals.....seen quite a number of familiar faces this afternoon.

Quite a number of people enjoyed a meet up at Aquarius this afternoon, and this evening saw people enjoying drinks in the glow of the evening sun, at Athens Bar, and Acabar

Another lovely sunny day, but with some breeze again, which makes it so much more comfortable.

The sea had a few waves today, due to the breeze, rather than being the flat mill pond its been the last few days, but still lovely for swimming in! :D

Tonight the village is very busy, Saturday night is also a favoured night out for Greeks, so lots of people around, dropping into Yiannis and Tasty Corner for a gyros.

Boy George tribute doing his regular spot in Condor, and live music in Athens Bar making this end of the village very lively!

Another lovely sunny day again today.

We started the day with a full English breakfast, having met some friends at Condor, and haven't really needed to eat much else all day!

I took myself off for a walk this afternoon, along the beach, which was really busy. Lots of locals also there soaking up the sun, and enjoying a beautiful turquoise sea.
Manthos, Waves, and Athinas new beach side bar were all very busy, and there was hardly a sunbed to be had.

Completing the picture were a few sailboats dotted around off shore, and the passing by of an amazing looking private yacht just out to sea.

And another lovely sunny day again today  8)

Quite a few people filling up with breakfasts at Little Prince and 2 Stars this morning, and the Juice Bar was nice and busy too, which is good to see, as it's a lovely little spot.

Changeover again, and we said a few farewells, but sounds like all are planning to return soon, which is great!

People enjoying drinks tonight out the front of Silver Moon, and 3 W's has their regular Monday traditional Greek music night.

Oooops, missed last night, so quick update now for yesterday, then another tonight for today!

Hot again yesterday, with some sea mist rolling in over the hill from Arillas late morning, but it soon cleared up.

The village is generally pretty quiet in the daytime now, as its so hot, the best places to be are by the pool or on the beach. But the evenings are nice and busy.

Last night many having pre dinner drinks at Silver Star and El Greco, and the beachside restaurants were businer than the roadside ones as people cooled with the slight breeze off the sea, and enjoyed the suset from Fantasea and Beachcombers, Waves, Mistrael, and Manthos.
Also saw  group headiing up the hill the Elphidas.
Choice f music tonight, with reggae night at Athens Bar, Rod Stewart tribute at Condor, and Lady Gaga tribute at Acabar.

Not really into tribute acts, but have to say 'Rod Stewart' was pretty believable and a nice guy too!

Wow, so hot hot hot today! Temperatures well into the high 30's with a real feel in the 40's due to the humidity, and still air.
someone said to me today that when they were on their scooter, the air that was coming at them felt like a hairdryer it was so hot!

The sea was nice and calm today too, just a little bit of wave, so perfect for cooling off in!

Music tonight on offer is JJ Jupiter, acoustic guitarist at Athens, Greek musician at 3 W'S and Bob Marley tribute at Acabar. As Rilo57 says, not for everyone, which is why we're so lucky that the village almost has 2 halves, so there are also the nice chill out bars in the old part, where you can sit in Kamini, or any of the tavernas and have a quiet drink watching the setting sun
