Evening temperature
« on: July 08, 2013, 04:52:01 PM »
All,

Mythos2 said in an earlier thread (dated 6th July) that there were people wearing coats in the evening because of the chill. Is it that chilly there? We come out on 19th and I don't intend to pack any coats or cardigans as I've never had to. According to the weather its around 20/21 degrees in the evenings at present. Surely thats too warm for a coat. Isn't it?

The wife and I got back from San Steph on Friday 5th July and we can confirm a small number of people were wearing jumpers and cardigans etc.  However, this was simply down to the fairly strong breeze on most nights as the temperatures were still 24 degrees on an evening.  The locals were actually surprised at how long the winds lasted as in the past they would only be around for three days.  Out of our 14 days holiday the winds were present on nine of them at varying strengths, some of them pretty strong.

We arrived on the 24th June and have just arrived back. Our first week was breezy at times and was chilly when you got out of the pool.
However the last 3/4 days have been scorching and the wind has gone. Wouldn't bother with a coat

The weather at the moment is perfect 29c during the day and 25c during the evening with a light breeze. The cold conditions were caused by the strong north wind which has gone now. Andy

In Dunfermline the evening temperature is a pleasant 21C. Morrison's are selling Mythos at £1.29 per 0.5l. The Athens Kebab shop is selling Gyros for £4.00 takeaway.

Yamass!

Just got back yesterday, having spent a fortnight there.  I only wore a cardi on one evening and the last few evenings have been extremely warm!  Don't think you'll be needing a coat there, cardi always advisable in case you get an occasional  breezy evening!!

As Karen says - we have been in every month of the summer season over the years...
forget a coat a wrap or a jumper slung over your shoulders if it's breezy - - I think I've only actually slipped the jumper on
 - - - on a couple of evenings max in 30 years.
