Hi Paula
I used my mobile to ring home, the code is 0044 then leave the 0(zero) off your mums mobile number.
I had no problems connecting and got good reception.
I hope this helps and enjoy your holiday.
Alan

Hi again.
I believe to call from the UK the code is 0030 and again leave off the 0(zero) from your phone number.
If you put them in as new contacts and name them as "mum holiday" and "paula holiday" so as not to ring the wrong number.

Most importantly, before you go, ring T-Mobile, or whoever your network is and set-up / arrange ROAMING.
If not it probably won't work, then put plenty of credit on before you go.
Texting is the cheapest - - go online and check the international charges out.

If you have Skype, (and it's easy to get free wifi). and have a smartphone, an Ipad, netbook, or laptop, put £20 credit on it and phone home really cheaply,
just pennies!!
Skype (from Corfu) to Skype (in UK), calls are free and you can also do video calling!

If your mother has a UK telephone number then the country code is always 0044 then drop the first 0. 0030 is the country code for anyone with a Greek telephone number. Even though you are travelling to Greece, your telephone will always have a UK telephone number therefore will always require the UK country code of 0044 (drop the 0).
Kind regards.
Cerys.

I think all mobiles allow you to manually select the provider, when you have this problem.
I had no problem with mine on auto select and picked up the usual Greek signal there.

But why does it matter if it's a Greek or Albanian carrier?
I've signed up to Vodafone Euro Traveller. I can recieve calls and texts at no charge. If I make a call, send a text or use data then I'm charged just £3 a day, and then it uses my normal inclusive price plan.
And Albania is included.
