Fresh fish
« on: April 14, 2012, 01:41:12 PM »

Hi everyone.  Although I have been to San Stef a few times now, I am thinking that the restaurants and tavernas are not all that great when it comes to serving fresh fish (not frozen).  I may be wrong.  Can any others out there recommend a good place for fresh fish?  I do recall Yiannis Grill advertising fresh fish but I'm not sure if the wife and I tried it.

Thanks Chris.  It's probably one of the few tavernas that we haven't tried.  Is it any good?

Speros at Nafiska buys fish locally. I've witnessed it. Most of the others get a delivery from Corfu Town, apparently.

Jimbo Bro!

When Alex Salmond has his way all the English sardines will be deep fried in this green fertile land  :)

Can't remember sardines in Manthos, but I'm sure we had them in Waves, I think. Had them somewhere and am convinced it was in one of the beach front tavernas.

You will also find fresh fish down at the harbour and you can buy directly from the fisherman there if you wish to cater for yourself.  Many tavernas will buy fish for you based on the days catch including Mistral on the beach.

We had great fresh fish at Fantasea, Mistral, Nafsica and Sunset last year. The best was at Sunset - absolutely delicious!
