Hi folks

SZ is a new ice cream parlour opened at the corner which takes you down to Athena Hotel. Run by Demitra (ex Zorbas, Havanna and Romanza) with help from her sister Soffia and mother Julia it also sells deserts (the cheesecake and choc soufflee are very light but wonderfully heavy on the calories!) In addition it does terrific smoothies, milkshakes as well as wine, beers and cocktails.

The girls are lovely, will fuss over your kids and make u feel like a family friend.

It's worth a pop in for a pre/post dinner or lunchtime indulgence.

I think it may be the Ice cream hardware from Mama Mias last year.

Great to hear Demetra is back in the village.She is a lovely girl ,we first met during her time at the Romanza.
She left the Romanza to run the pool bar at the Delfin Blu.We often called in to see her for a chat and a drink.She then left the village for Sidari,I think to work in a garage or taxi company.
I am now kicking myself for not calling in to SZ to see her during our June visit.All being well we will remedy that next June.

Sandra W, it has the usual choice with other flavours like Wild Cherry and different sorbets too. Cocktail list is being worked thru slowly too. Will enjoy another one tonight.

Needs to be a cold one tho, someone cranked up the heat today.

Alas no, we have taxi booked for 11am on Fri.

Our friends John and Maria Lount and daughter Caris are at Athina for another week tho and will no doubt bump into u and yours in SZ.

Lofty - latest news says the taxi strike is continuing indefinitely. Might be worth checking with local sources to see what the status is on Corfu.
