For anybody out for the first two weeks in July a group called "The Carnival" will be playing a couple of nights in Athens Bar. If you get a chance and like a bit of classic rock get yourself in, I can guarentee a great night.
We are giving SS a miss this year (Gutted!!) but i'm sure Olu Deniz will be just as laid back and hopefully back next year.

Cheers for that Cockneyinhull.  We did Olu Deniz last year and it was ok.  Different to San Stef.  The main street at night is totally bonkers.  Loud music blaring and scantily clad girls AND boys dancing on bar counters etc;  Through the day was great as we just sipped our cold beers or chilled wine and watched the paragliders doing their stuff.  It was rather relaxing.  There were very few places to walk which disapointed us.

He was n El Greco last year on a couple of evenings when JJ wasn't playing opposite. he also did some gigs with a couple of guys in the Thomas Bay.  Both sets were impressive.

We watched a decent band in Thomas Bay last August......cant remember much as I was a bit drunk and too busy waving my lighter in the air hoping Tony would spot my wristband on the same arm!!

We will be in SS from the 8 - 22 July so we will definitely go and watch them  This will be our second visit and cant wait to return.  We went last year for the first time and thoroughly enjoyed it.

We have also been to Olu Deniz three times.  The last time we went was September 2009 we were out there when Excel went bust.  We noticed loads of changes since the time before which was nine years before and it was really quiet then.  Now it is very commercialised with more younger people and we found it to be very loud.  the beach is lovely though and even nicer is the lagoon. Much prefer SS though!

As an alternative in Turkey, try Dalyan, we found it to be a Turkish version of Ag. Stef - - of course - the original just can't be beaten!

We went to Dalyan after hearing about it from others and have to say it was so laid back. We never saw one "in your face" local all week. Like San Stef all were so warm and welcoming. Will definitely return there.
