Boat hire
« on: July 22, 2010, 02:27:16 PM »
Hi everyone, we are thinking of hiring a boat during our holiday. Can anyone tell me where the boats are actually moored[hope not to far away] and which are the nicest beaches/bays to stop off at if we are heading in the direction of Agios Georgios North?
Many thanks.x

Lilly

They were hiring boats out from San Stef beach just past the Havana Beach bar. It was by the hour or for the day and seemed quite reasonable price wise.

Thanks for that Cockney, not too far then.
We wanted a change from the quad bikes/jeeps this year and are looking forward to life on the ocean wave.

We had a beach buggy for a day, Great fun but ended up with arms like Arnie :). We then had a quad the next day to venture a bit further. I can't recommend these enough to anybody that has not been on one before.

Cockney, I agree they are great fun. We have been all the way to Kassiopi and Pagi[near Agios Georgios North] in them and had a great time.

We always booked our boats and picked them up at New harbour - Mick (ex Bar 38) was running them a few years ago but not sure now - any of the locals in Kamini may be able to help you. Hire was for either half a day or full day and we would always sail round to Arillas / Agios Georgios.

We are hoping to hire "Old Leaky" again as Mick called it, to sail over to Ag Georgios - great fun and they provide u all with life jackets - not a huge boat but it has a canopy to keep mid day sun off of you - but will also be looking at getting a boat trip via Noula to the Islands. Fingers crossed the weather will be good for sailing.

Just a thought - check the small print in your travel insurance -
I noticed my Travel Insurance Company has banned quad bikes as it seems they have the most accidents, Not sure about that myself,
but it looks like a scooter is Ok so I may have to get one of those instead!

too many holes in the road for me on a scooter. I seem to find enough on the quad.

Hi
We hired a boat last summer from San Stef travel.  Boats moored in SS harbour, Noula will take you there for a few euros and pick you up again.  Boats available either half day or full day.  We had never hired a boat before but it was really easy and great fun.  Maps are on board and you can sail down to Paleo.  We moored up at a deserted cove and had a picnic and swam in the beautiful clear water - it was a great day and def recommend it.  Even saw some dolphins swimming near us on the way back.
