Well - we're back in the damp UK with the clouds of Brexit shedding a depressing gloom over everything.
We had two lovely weeks at Nafsika. The outward journey to Birmingham airport was as ghastly as I had anticipated - heavy rain on the M62, M18, M1, M42. Apart from one completely moron in a white van who cut through three lanes in driving spray everybody was sensible. TUI 757 flight was fine. Immigration at Corfu was swift, baggage was quick. Coach was about 1.5 hours, and Spiros had waited up to help us with the cases.
Our room was very nice - the colour scheme is lighter than the traditional dark browns. The staff were wonderful - particularly during a storm and 25 hour power cut, where they delivered superb food. In fact we had two weeks of great food and service.
Apart from that rainy intervention, the weather was very nice at around 30C and the sea was warm. Waves and Mistral stayed open when what we call the Blackpool end of the beach had packed up.
Airport was fine coming back. About ten minutes through security. More or less immediate boarding and departure right on time. We'd booked an over-night at the Express by Holiday Inn, and having retrieved the car, arrived there at 11pm. Oh joy - the bar stayed open until midnight. Glass of vino, comfy bed, and a dry drive from Brum to Hull next day.
Great late holiday!
