Hi Gavlah, the last time we stayed at the Romanza (08)various sports were on from time to time including Terrestrial UK channels with some Rugby to boot! We remember as there was a compromise and occassional switching of channels as one or two ladies were keen to see the final of Big Brother! Not quite authentic Greek culture me thinks but a bit of fun banter amongst the guests as all needs and wants catered for! With a little bit of luck you may not have to travel out of the bar!

Hi Jules, seems like a safe bet to suss  out the top five when we arrive in a couple of weeks.Of  course whatever takes your fancy at the time is the real way to relax and unwind on holiday, however having the back up of the recommendations from regulars is a real bonus. Mythica is a definate I think, as I believe its run by the couple who ran the Romanza restaurant a year or two back? We've stayed there in the past and to be honest we could not find better food than the Romanza in 07 and 08. If the Mythica is on a par we're in for a treat!

Many thanks for your top tips, our gastronomic venture is taking shape via the best reviewers in town!
Using a brief 3 2 1 points system from your top three recommendations it seems like Mythica presently holds the gold medal spot with The Little Prince just nudging Olympia and Ozzy Oils into a shared third place on the podium.
The Condor and Bar 38 appear to be out in front for a drinks venue so we will make a point of calling in for a cocktail or two.
If anyones interested ( its nothing too serious!) based on the 11 reviews to date the SS August Gastronomy Top 5 are.....
1) Mythica           17 points
2)Little prince       10 points
3=) Ozzy Oils        9 points
3=) Olympia          9 points
5) Zorbas             6 points
Hope the kids got the maths right!

Thanks again , will be interesting to see if any additional recommendations adjust the leaders board! we will certainly use this feedack hope its of use to others who, like us, are still to head out to SS.

Hi All,heading to SS in the not too distant for one weeks precious R&R. While we are prepared to go with the flow and pop into any bar or taverna that feels right at the time,as we only have the week we dont want to miss out on proven culinary delights or entertaining watering holes! With this in mind we were hoping the forum could help us create a must do list. If members could spare a moment and offer us their TOP THREE RESTAURANT'S and the BEST PUB/BAR in town. We will develop our hit list as we count down the days! Thanks for any time people can spare, the knowledge base within the forum should help us make the best use of our limited time in SS.

San Stefanos news and views / Contact with Romanza

Hi there, can anyone help/advise?
We booked our hol this year direct with the hotel and emailed for confirmation.
We also negotiated taxi transfers through the hotel with an SS taxi firm.
We emailed the hotel over a week ago for final confirmation and to sort out taxi but havn't had any response
We realise that they are likely very busy at the minute with it being peak season but are due to arrive in a couple of weeks so time is running out.
We note from the forum that some members may have additional contacts with the hotel. Can anyone help with this or with taxi info?
Many thanks

San Stefanos news and views / Re: Romanza breakfast
« on: July 22, 2010, 11:33:57 PM »
Hi all, new to the forum, spent some time reading various posts most of which raise a smile or two! We head back to the Romanza for our third visit in a few weeks so any posts regarding the Romanza hold a special interest. If I may add a little reflection regarding breakfasts i would say they are of a good standard, quite adequate in the heat and certainly acceptable for the overall B&B price paid. The main point I would like to make  however relates to the setting.The terrace and the sea view makes for the most wonderful backdrop to any meal and any minor shortcomings re toast etc need to be balanced against the care and interest offerred by the staff and the overall ambience of the restaurant.Its a splendid place to start the day and even better in the evening, those sunsets are the real deal and add so much to the overall eating experience. I for one cant wait to get back there and tuck in!
First post  and I hope people get where I'm coming from with this. Cheers.
