Where to stay / Teresa - again 2011
« on: September 18, 2010, 10:55:24 PM »
Booked for the Teresa again for next September which it seems may be the last time with Thomsons as they are talking maybe about going independent. This will be great news for all the Teresa regulars as they do deserve to make more money than Thomsons pay them per night.

Where to eat out in San Stefanos? / Where we ate
« on: September 18, 2010, 10:44:35 PM »
We ate at the following places during our recent stay - not in any particular order.

Mythica - twice - and both times the food was gorgeous. I had the Sofrito both times and would say it was the best in the village. The first time we went the service was a little slow - don't know why but the food more than made up for it.

Olympia - twice- both times the food was as good as ever and this place will always be one of our favourites .

Ozzy Oils - 3 times - Food and the ambience of Ozzy Oils will always be second to none. Ate here on our last night with 2 other couples as well and the hospitality from Kerry and Nicos was 2nd to none as ever. The mash is simply gorgeous as is all the food served here . The garden setting is wonderful as well .

Zorbas - twice - Great food and a wonderful atmosphere with the Greek dancing as well.

Little Prince - twice - Roy had the Steak Sizzler both times and he said it was even better than last years. The dancing was good and the young boy lapped up his deserved applause  - had breakfast here most mornings as well.

2 Star - twice - Food was good both times and always had a great welcome from the owners. Tried here this year after having had a not so good meal a couple of years ago but the food was much better this year and will go again next year.

Teresa - once - This is where we always stay and the food was as good as anywhere else. We don't normally eat here in the evening as we like to venture out into the village. Most days we had lunch here though after lounging by the glorious pool.

All in all the food this year was very good and we couldnot fault any establishment we went in.

We had milshakes in the Akrotiri Bar on the headland and they were the best in the village with the wonderful views from here as well.

The juice bar was a daily place to visit for the various juices and smoothies and they helped towards our 5 a day as well. The different combinations of fruits meant you could have a different one each day if you so wished.

We cannot wait to do it all over again next September.

(All the above were posted just to say where we ate and are not in any way saying one was better than the other or better than any we didnot visit)

Where to stay / Portland Hols Next Year
« on: May 03, 2010, 02:40:09 PM »
Next Years brochures are now available and Portland will now just go under the Thomsons name. I had a look earlier and it just looks to me that it is an excuse to charge more for the Portland properties than before. For instance we have booked Teresa for this year at a price o £818 for the fortnight and next year the same time will be £1004. Maybe it is time that we will look to book independant.

Where to stay / Our stay at Teresa..........................
« on: September 22, 2009, 12:48:05 AM »
was as good as ever. Lovely pool and sunsets to die for. Great crowd of people during our 2 weeks including some young 20(ish) year olds who were very good company as well.
All in all we did not have anything at all to complain about and are looking forward already to next years.  :)

Where to eat out in San Stefanos? / Where we ate in SS.
« on: September 22, 2009, 12:42:53 AM »
Sorry it's took so long - well a week and a bit but I have been really busy before now.

Mythica was a new one for us and we ate there 3 times . Each time was very nice with very good service as well. I think a lot of the clientel were people Jenny knew from when she worked at Romanza. Tables were always nicely laid out as well with proper linen.
Ozzy Oils was as good as ever and we ate there 3 times as well. Our first one being on our first Saturday Night with Sue and John and also a couple of gate crashers in the shape of Don and Sandra. Lovely food as usual and great service from Kerry. We also ate here on our last night with 2 other friends (Steve and Wendy) and had a lovely last night meal. Kerry can never do enough for you.
Little Prince. We ate here twice in the evenings one time was with Don and Sandra and Roy just had to try Sandra's favourite the Sizzling Steak. It is now his favourite meal there as well as he tried it again on our second visit. The service was good on both occasions although I thought the portions were smaller this year.
Zorbas . We ate here twice but this year I felt something was not the same as previous times although I couldn't put my finger on what it was. Maybe it was because of the addition of the pizza place.
Olympia. We ate here twice during our 2 weeks and the food was delicious. We even managed to have strawberries and cream for dessert on our first visit. They were yummy.
Teresa's BBQ Night Great fun night with plenty of food and dancing. Don and Sandra also attended for there first experience here and enjoyed it as well. Roy took part in some dancing but I was not able to due to my bad shoulder.
Sunset Taverna Had one meal here which was lovely and very reasonably priced as well.
All in all we had some great meals. :)

Can anyone tell me if all the shops are open after you have gone through passport control (at about 5am)? We are thinking Boots as last year we bought a meal deal in there to eat on the plane for about £3.50 as we don't bother with the in flight meals.
