San Stefanos news and views / Cats and kittens
« on: July 03, 2019, 03:19:06 PM »
There seems to be an abundance of cats and kittens here this year and the kittens seem on their own. They are not a nuisance in any way and the locals seem to be feeding them. Dear little things :)

Where to eat out in San Stefanos? / Fantasea restaurant
« on: July 03, 2019, 03:11:15 PM »
Heard some good reviews about Fantasea, food is very good and it is in a nice quiet setting, up near the little chapel, so a nice stroll away from the main strip. It comes highly recommended :)

San Stefanos news and views / Next Year
« on: November 27, 2018, 06:36:27 PM »
So we have booked our holiday for next year and TUI have changed the flight from Stansted , from a Friday to a Monday and night flights!  Aaargh! Our first holiday there in 2004 was a night flight so we travelled to resort in the dark, wondered where we would end up!! Got to Stamatis, no one around, so the rep took us to our room.  What a lovely revelation when we woke up in the morning!!  Been going back ever since 8)

Think it has been mentioned, there is now an accommodation tax of 50 cents per day, which you pay to your hotel/apartments.

Morning everyone! Just had a message from our friends on naturist end of beach. They have now put sunbeds and the static sun shades, there. So if anyone fancies getting their kit off, with the comfort of sunbeds....! ;D

Information and help please / Romanza to beach...
« on: August 24, 2017, 08:49:28 PM »
We have some friends staying at Lofos Apartments, up by Romanza and will want to go down to the beach.  I understand there is a pathway, by the Romanza.   How easy/difficult is the walk up and down? I would assume it will be steep! Thank you!

Out and About / Beach!
« on: July 17, 2016, 04:35:25 PM »
Just to say, beach was very disappointing again, down cliff end. Very dirty and loads of rubbish around. Sun bed end was kept beautifully clean though and much wider this year, so that's a good thing.  :)

Out and About / Rubbish on the beach
« on: May 13, 2016, 01:42:59 PM »
We have a friend staying in San Stefanos at the moment, for his first time and he said there is a lot of rubbish on the beach. We always go to area near cliffs and we are very disappointed each year, to find this too. The area around the sunbeds is always lovely and clean and I presume that the people who look after the sunbeds keep it this way. There are a lot of people, including young families, who use this part of the beach, it's a shame they can't clean it up. Mentioned it to elliseos where we stay, last year and he was going to mention it to 'someone', obviously it fell on deaf ears! Such a shame, as this could put people off returning.

San Stefanos news and views / Just got back!!
« on: July 11, 2015, 06:12:14 PM »
We have just got back from San Stef and had a fantastic holiday as usual!!We have met up with lots of our friends and made new ones too!  Had the great pleasure of meeting Jimbo and the lovely Gillie, when we were at the Nafsika one day.  Also saw them a couple of evenings. It was lovely chatting to them both and will look forward to seeing them again hopefully! On our first trip to the beach, we found it very narrow from Athina and along to Havana.  We found ourselves having to walk in the sea past the single row of sunbeds to get to the far end of the beach, which was and still is, much wider.  That has now improved considerably.  The sea was beautiful down the far end and you could paddle out to a sandbank, the sea was like a tepid bath there. It has been very hot and caught a few people unawares (including myself) as I was poorly for a couple of days, so just be aware in the heat.  Hippopots has explained everything else to a 'tee'.  Second week was pretty busy, with most bars and restaurants  bustling at some point.  As always, we ate in the Nafsika every night, (apart from when I had heatstroke!) and enjoyed every meal.  Speros and the team excelled themselves, as usual, to make our experience a very good one.  Thanks to them again. I have to say the food was always beautifully prepared and presented and of course, very tasty.  Lamb kleftico was gorgeous.  John enjoyed the shrimp on bruchetta starter and the garlic mushrooms. The locals, as always, were pleased to see  all us returnees and looked after us, as normal, so no change there!  Hope everyone has a good holiday and we shall be booking up very shortly for next year!!

Information and help please / Thomson's Shops
« on: July 26, 2014, 03:00:10 PM »
We have just booked our 2015 holiday at our local Thomson shop, which we have used for many years.  They always match the online price.  Now they have to charge a £25 booking fee for each holiday.  I suppose this is another way of reducing staff numbers!!  We book 3 holidays a year with them, so it makes sense for us now to book online.  We always like to shop in our local town, as there are already many shops closed. Talking to them yesterday (short of staff) they think they will eventually just become an advise centre.  Good old Thomsons!
