Ignore the stats - they're as reliable as a government economic growth forecast!

No, they don't. But you can get light-weight towels (excellent to keep packing weight down) all the over the village for a few Euros.

Usual old jokes.

I don't think they clear the seaweed to save Gavlah the embarrassment of girlie screams as he minces his way into the water.

It's a very good fertiliser, and comes in on the tide - a gift from Poseidon.

I would expect no less from any creature under the aegis of the Three Goddesses at San Stephanos Travel, who epitomise grace and beauty, and whose every move is indeed poetry in motion.

Such is the radiance of their being that the automatic filters on my glasses grow darker still when I enter the office than they even were in the intense Greek sunlight, and I stumble from there down to the beach as though in the blackest of nights.

Though we should ponder that Arachne the weaver was turned into a spider by Athina, and it may be that Stavroula is the eight-legged cursed form  of a tourist who kept everyone waiting at the start of a trip.

Posh taverna! Those spiders cost twice as much per hour as an Albanian...

EDIT

I've just had an email from an Albanian spider offering to do the job for half what the Greek spider's getting paid.

EDIT

I've just had an email from an Albanian bloke called Xhemail offering to undercut whatever deal the Albanian spider gets, stamp on Stavroula, the Black Widow Webcam Washer of Waves, and lick the cat pee off benson's Mythos. All this for a Sizzling Steak at Little Prince once a week and a signed photo of Cerys in her bikini.

EDIT

Stavroula has just posted a picture on Facebook of herself wearing a bikini. Interesting garment if you have eight legs. Actually, not that boring with two.

EDIT

I have replied to the Albanian voyeur thus:

"Dear e-mail, thank you for your Xhemail.

Unfortunately, Cerys does not do signed photos any more. She only does TV. However, as her agent, and as a fluent Welsh-speaker, for a small consideration around the 200,000,000,000 Leks area I may be able to help. Mixalis at Little Prince says that, whilst he is not prepared to give you Sizzling Steak, he would be happy for you to serve it, as he hates doing it himself.

You should take comfort from the fact that the Albanian football team is ranked one above Wales in the region at an impressive 25th, although I will not give this information to Cerys, who is not a woman lightly mocked.

I am sorry that there are no suitable vacancies at the moment, and I wish you good luck in future applications.

Yours etc."

Where to eat out in San Stefanos? / Re: Best Fry-up .

Most places are good. Had some excellent breakfasts at Little Prince and Nafsika whilst waiting for the coach.

Eggs are particularly good in Greece, I find. Lovely yolks.

OH NO!!!

First it was Vlad, the Black Dog. Now we've got Stavroula The Sinister Spider!

She's big, she's female, and she eats men for breakfast.

Come to think of it, that covers about 50% of the forum members...

Suggest holding the power button down for AT LEAST 30 seconds - possibly longer. That should reset it. Then plug it into computer via USB and see if pops up as a device.

Charge fully - then try starting again.

If it's totally kaput, none of these will work. In which case, contact Amazon for repair.

They collect the seaweed quite often throughout the season.
