San Stefanos Online ~ North West Corfu

Hi thought you would like to know that today is St Dimitrios Day and here in Greece everyone celebrates their name days rather than birthdays so to all Dimitris and Dimitra's its Xronya Pollar (Happy Name Day........) in case you wanted to text or email........

For information I noticed on Easyjet's website that flights from end March 2015 to end May 2015 for Corfu have been loaded.....

Its a Happy Name Day today for all Kostas, Kostadina's, Eleni's, Helena's and a National Holiday on Corfu as today is the date we celebrate the unification of the Ionian Islands.  So its Kronya Pollar, cakes and Yiammas to all......

Wishing everyone a wonderful Easter especially this year as we all celebrate at the same time.

I will be in Avliotes with the ole man Ari hopefully the weather will improve its pretty chilly today we had some hailstones earlier and heating on.....

Forecast says better for Saturday onwards lets hope so, so we can all spit roast our lambs/goats etc after a week of non eating/fasting (non meat) - a very important part of the calendar for us here in Greece.

For all my friends, family and forum members wishing you all a fab holiday season too.

And once Easter is over then here its all hands on deck for 1st May and our first summer arrivals - although it's lovely to see the hire cars already here for those whom have come over to celebrate here in Corfu this wonderful time of the year.....

For those whom missed it first time round or just if you are missing some lovely scenery shots of Corfu then to cheer up your January evenings this Wednesday 8th January is the re run of Corfu - The Tale of Two Islands on ITV at 23.40 Hours (UK time).

Plenty of mixed reviews last time round when topic was first posted I was going to reply on original thread but it asked me to start new topic.

The first episode though does show San Stefanos NW........

For information a few weeks ago the A.T.M machine was taken away from outside the chemist in Avliotes. Will it come back if not there or somewhere else we don't know just passing on the information....    

For information as know some where awaiting their email and text alerts - Easyjet have now p posted their flights from June through to September for summer 2014......

It was beautiful yesterday evening after a mild day of temps of 23c and very little breeze to experience the beautiful Fire Flies as the evening turned into darkness, this is the first time this summer I have seen them so a very special occasion.  Fire Flies can normally be seen from end April through mid/end May in Corfu. If you have never seen them its a magical time in Corfu, very special and unique.
