Good post Tony.  The world as we used to know it is definitely changing and in most cases for the worst me thinks.  Personally I get despondant about the youths of today.  Not all of them I may add.  I honestly think respect for elders is long gone with todays young uns.

Georgie,

Our other favourite Greek places are Skiathos town, on the island of Skiathos obviously and Stoupa which is a lovely quiet resort in the Peloponese area.  Skiathos town is very cosmopolitan with plenty of bars and tavernas but also relaxing.  The dowside being the prices to go there are a little more expensive due to that Mama Mia film.  Stoupa is a total chill out where you can actually here a pin drop on the beach.  I'm sorry but we have not been to Zante.

I can't believe Jimbo has not joined this thread!  He must be itching.  Mind you, I think he has used all his best lines up on previous posts.   ;)

Great review.  That is what San Stef does for you, de-stress (great word).  The wife and I totally relax whilst we are there.  The only "stressful" decision we go through is which taverna to try.

Yes I agree, Paleokastritsa.  Also the wife and I went to Affionas, St Georges and Roda.  The ride to Roda was a little daunting due to the fact I stupidly travelled on a main road.  However the trip to Paleo was brilliant.  Great scenery through the mountains and a sense of accomplishment when we were sipping our coffees in a taverna in Bella Vista just above Paleo.  Try the village of Peroulades between Avliotes and Sidari.  Great fun overall and we felt relatively safe.

In all seriousness, the Greek salad at Tasty Corner is well above average.

Hello, I'm back in the Gravia!  Excellent views etc, etc.  You all know the script by now.  I just thought I would give a little more feedback.

.  I feel for the Chinese restaurant as there has hardly been anyone in.
.  The wife and I have not had one mozzy bite!  (I'm going to regret that statement).
.  Weather is incredibly hot.  Too hot to walk anywhere.  A little cooler in the evening.
.  The resort is starting to pick up, although still relatively quiet.
.  Most tavernas/bars a little concerned.  They keep harping on about the increase in taxes.

That's all folks!

Hi Everyone.  The wife and I have been here in San Stef for six days now, so apologies for the delay in getting back to you lot.  I am currently using the computer in Gravia.  Stunning views as most of you know.  Anyhoo, I will give you all a brief update.

. Best sofrito EVER in the Olympia.
. Resort quiet but "ticking over".
. Food prices cheap, average of 35 euros for two, starter, main course and wine.
. Now three supermarkets on main street.
. Chinese restaurant has good reports although we have not tried it.
. Beach has loads of sunbeds, normally half of them actually being used.
. Weather hot but bearable due to the breeze.
. Lots of families from Finland in resort.  The kids just a little irritating.

Take care everyone.

Cheers Tony.  How does this PM malarkey work?   ???

Tony,

The wife and I are in San Stef from 22nd June to 6th July.  We also may cross paths.  I remember two years ago when you kindly distributed the bracelets, we both had them on but never met any "forum friends".  I always remember Glen asking us if we had met anyone yet everytime we frequented his bar.  We were either unlucky or everybody was hiding.   :-\

Outza, have you been going crazy waiting for your large giros?  My wife and I love them also.  My wife strangely enough is rather a healthy eater back in England, but like you she can't wait to visit the Tasty Corner.

Welcome Outza.  It's great to hear from you.  Lets hope it's the first of many postings.  Your views will give a different perspective as it were.  Whey aye man!  (not Finnish but Geordie).
