Ok, we've got friends staying on the island for the first time who have booked a hotel in Roda. I've told them that they ought to try and make it across to San Stef while they're there, to firstly see what they're missing, and secondly checkout accommodation we've recommended to them to consider for next year. Is the Inter Resort Pass (which is news to me), something they could use to get to San Stef, and then back to Roda? Thanks. Meanwhile we're counting the days down to when we return on the 26th August, roll on.

Keep an eye on Ryanair's site also, nothing on there at the minute, but they appeared good value this year, which I noticed, of course, after I'd bought nine return flights with Easyjet.

Alright, just realised perhaps I should have put this in the Eating section, oh well.

Flew back last night into Gatport Airwick with EasyJet, (as always the two and a bit weeks stay in SS that we'd all been looking forward to so much, for so long, ripped past and seemed more like two and a bit days.) Anyway, plucked the September issue of the EasyJet Traveller from the seat pocket in front and made straight for Corfu in the destination Guides, just to depress me even more. Found Corfu on page 119, and began trawling through it.
Eating recommendations: up to 15 euros, somewhere in Dassia called Great Shakes, never heard of it, up to 30 euros, somewhere in Agios Nicholas, Notos called Savvas Beach Taverna, never heard of it, up to 50 euros, Manthos Taverna, bloody hell, couldn't believe it! exclusive, Elpida Bistro, bloody hell, couldn't believe it again!
Anyone else seen it? I'm emailing Christina with a copy of the page. After that I'm taking medication to ease my post holiday blues.

The hair shirt is uncomfortable, as you'd expect it to be, inducing pain as a sign of repentance or atonement, but the hemp thong on the other hand is great, and also don't forget, quite edible. I may be wrong here but, I think I have seen Manthos wearing one, and he always claims to have a secret ingredient in his moussaka, but look I could be putting two and two together here and making five.

Hi Steve....Edies'  "beautiful family" of course I know who you are now, I missed your boogying at Simple last year. Cics filled me in!!!

Thought I havn't seen you guys this year, are you all coming out later, all the beautiful family including the bikes?
will tell Ed that you asked of him.

Bevie

Simple, God yes, God that was a good night. Picture this: 5 o'clock in the morning, two blokes who arguably had had three to many, one finds out he's lost his apartment key, (although it was in his pocket all the time), we find a ladder, manage to negotiate our way around the swimming pool in the style of The Chuckle Brothers, lean the ladder against the side of Dimitri's bar, climb onto the roof, climb over the balustrade onto the balcony and walk straight into the patio door, leaving a perfect greasy face print on the also locked door. Said bloke then spends the rest of what remains of the night sleeping on the tiled floor of the balcony. Wife wakes in the morning, thinks that's nice he's made the bed and must be out for an early morning run, pulls the curtains back and finds what initially she thinks is a homeless person a sleep outside on the balcony. Anyway, I blame Cics for it all!

We're coming out on the 21st of this month so no doubt see you then. (warn Cics if she's around).

Bev,

We got to know Eddie when he worked behind the bar in Nafsika, and we kept in touch with him for a while, he was due to stay with us in Cambridge and something or other happen, and then we didn't get together.  You normally see us around the village with our mountain bikes, (we take them with us), and our daughters and friends, we take them with us as well. (the good looking family, you said it not me!)

Cheers,
Steve.

Bev,
Is Eddie coming out to see you anytime soon?

Holistica, thanks for that, just 'phoned him and booked the car, thanks again.

Don, thanks for the reminder, but never fear, I'm a male, hetrosexual, environmental activist, and always drive wearing a hair shirt and a hemp thong, plus on the way out I get the pilot to drop us off just on the southern tip of Italy, and from there we all swim across to the old harbour, to reduce our carbon foot print. ;)

You are a lovely lot. Thanks for the 'phone numbers, I'm sure we'll now be able to get ourselves sorted out successfully this year after last years debacle with the knob of a hire company in Sidari! I do however miss the negotiating process, the Ouzo, and the putting the world right, that used to happen when getting a car from Dino though.

This is odd, but went to SS for the first time in 1981, and then returned again in 2000, and have been every year since, and have only just found this forum! Anyway, always used to get cars from Dino, but he's not so active in car hire nowadays so wondered if anyone has the 'phone number for the car hire guy opposite Condor. We going out again for 17 days on the 21st of August and I completely fouled up last year, left car hire till the last minute, needed a 7 seater, and he couldn't help unfortunately. So, even more unfortunately I made a big mistake and tried to get one from a company in Sidari. Long, long story, but the upshot of it is wild horses couldn't get me to hire from them again, and the fella opposite Condor is a good bloke, only problem is I'm a twerp and have lost his contact details. Any help from you guys would be greatly appreciated. Cheers folks.
