Hi Ness
We have been going to San Stef for 10 years and have never had a problem, We stay in appartments and have left things such as camcorder DS games etc. You can never be 100% sure but you should be ok as ong as you lock up before you go out for the day.

Where to stay / Re: Newbie - Delfino Blu

I have not tried to have a look around the DB and to be honest we prefer the Havanah to the Mango, I cannot comment on the attitude of people who manage the DB but if what people say is right, then that is not much different from other top hotels. We experienced the same problem in Crete and Cyprus so it is not uncommon. Before we cast critisism, maybe we should take a step back and look what reception we would get if we tried to gain entry in top class hotels in our own country. Imagine if we walked in to a hotel in London armed with towel and flip flops with a the intention of using the pool. I think we have been spoiled by the hospitality we receive in SS, so I would not lose much sleep over the lack of hospitality shown towards us in  the DB.

Where to eat out in San Stefanos? / Re: 2 Stars
« on: July 19, 2010, 10:19:23 PM »
When we first tried the 2** about 10 years ago the food was really good, I must say that the quality has dropped over the last couple of years. We will still have the odd meal in there when we go back in August as we like to spread the money around the village. The two guys in there are really friendly and we always get a bottle of wine to bring home. The problem could be that the quality of the other restaurants is oustanding and they have not kept pace with them, We normally go in now for a breakfast or a light lunch but go elsewhere for an evening meal

According to Jerry, he played with every band that were recording in the 1960's. Someone said that if you remember the 60's then you were not there. Well I was there and I am pleased to say I don't remember Jerry James. Thank god. When he is on at the Silver Star We don't venture that far up the village. I just hope he does not venture any further either Summed up in three words

There are plans to construct a turn off to the hospital entrance from the main carriageway going into Corfu town. At the moment there is no access from that side of the road, so when they start digging we can expect delays when heading back to the airport.

After all these years someone thought it was a good idea to do that. The way things are it might be some time before they start working on it..

Can't see road being finished in the near future, the economic sitution will impact on building and construction work. They always run out of money. You only have to look at the new hospital, they have been building that for years.

I could have got 1.19 at local exchange shoplast week, I thought it was on the way up so I did not take up the option. It is now down to 1.15. Not a good decision on my part.

It could be that someone else might still book a taxi, if this is the case the cost will be shared. We used to book a taxi with Noula after we had two and half hour coach trip from the airport, I would never go through that again. We now stay in Nikos appartments and get picked up by car at the airport, this is included in the price.
