TravelFX 1.1773 today and still rising. 1.1921 exchange rate overall. Apparently its the pressure of rising covid cases and the new lockdowns in some countries causing the rise.

Its another beautiful day clear blue sky and a warmish temperature of 19c this morning - just as well as off to a friends for a lunchtime BBQ. Happy Saturday All x

No chance of a BBQ here in south Wales. We've just had hailstones. Nice.

I'm seriously glad that we got out before this happened: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OtqjtWVvf3g&ab_channel=WorldIsDangerous

My brother-in-law was meant to be flying back from Turkey when that storm was doing its thing but luckily his flight was cancelled. He was delayed 36 hours which is some storm.

I would hate to think how many people are sitting on an awful lot of Euro due to not going away because of covid, must be millions of €.

Yep I have over e1000 sitting in my wardrobe awaiting our visit to Tenerife in December and Majorca next June (this years holiday reassigned).
TravelFX 1.1726 as at 3pm today.

A very poignant trip for you Charlie, a separate report thread at the time is a must.
Ref 2022, it will be our first time for two visits in the year to AS.  We have a week at Anatoli end of May (Whit week) and then 18 days at Fedra Mare at end of July.
There is also the possibility of a third trip, the last week of August for our 30th wedding anniversary, with our two daughters and their partners. I need to find some reasonable priced flights for that first though as I am footing the bill, so nothing booked yet but Mrs BAJ keeps prodding me despite my protestations that we will have only been back home 2 weeks!

It's the prodding that gets you in the end. :)

Thanks, guys! In the "olden days" I would have seen a doctor before we went, and would have been told not to fly, take the antibiotics and go to bed! It's probably easier now to get an audience with the Pope than see a GP. If it happens like this again I will insist, or go to A&E.

Sadly attending A&E is the only way to be seen nowadays. I've given up trying to get past the surgeries kommandant on reception

I did in Cyprus l last year as that's what Gov.UK said, which did surprise me at the time. In hindsight I don't think it was needed as nobody asked to see it.

It always seemed a strange addition to a place like San Stef though I have no idea when it was built and opened.

It was left like the Marie Celeste, a running joke in the village was if you need a bed get one from the hotel the bar was left with lots of bottles of beer in the cellar TV on wall and a pinball machine it was like everyone left in a hurry.

Yep we heard that everything was left when it was abandoned. For years you could see the shutters on the windows blowing in the wind.

Stayed in both BAJ and the studios are fine. It's a class place and Dimi and Haritini are amazing.
