Information and help please / Re: Passports
« on: October 15, 2020, 11:38:02 AM »
Hi Lesley, my passport is up for renewal on 3rd Jan (not that I think I'll be using it in the near future) and I have been wondering when to apply, having read all sorts of horror stories about delays. Yesterday I was talking to a very friendly helpful lady at the DWP, so I asked her if she knew anything about this. She advised me to apply one month earlier than I would have done normally.

We stayed at Tereza's 6 years ago and loved it. Since we were there it's been completely renovated and we nearly went back last year, but left it too late and the fortnight we wanted was fully booked. We did walk past and it looks fabulous now.

I wonder if Maggie made it? I think she should be back by now but will be self- isolating? Give us a shout if you’re there Maggie !

Yes we did here in North Staffs, Geordie! All set to get colder on Wed. though, according to BBC.

We prefer the Tsaros route up. It's a short sharp shock but at least it's tarmac and you can take your time!

Sounds fab Rod, I'm really envious!

We stayed at the Perros this time last year and the launderette was definitely OPEN. It's next door to the olive wood shop - I think the owners are brothers?

I seem to remember when we went last year that 2 Stars had relocated to somewhere opposite the Thomas Bay? I remember noticing the bird cages hanging up outside.

Thanks Jimbo. I noticed this a few weeks ago too - must have been end of July - your explanation makes more sense than the announcement that appears on-screen!

Agree completely Rod. The difference is that people today ignore the rules that don't suit them because they've never been told NOT to do something (oh, I really do sound like an "old fart" now!)

Yes, the same “types “ that are causing the problems in the UK.

Hobbes, I think if an octupus were to be dumped amongst the flames, it wouldn't be in a position to cause much harm to you! Shame about the fish though.

James seems to be the only person on here with first-hand experience of the situation and we should be listening to him! (Welcome by the way!)

Hobbes, the charity shops are gradually reopening. Having said that, the one we normally donate to has a recorded message saying they have been absolutely inundated and could we hold onto the items until next week! We’ve got bags full of stuff, as sadly had to clear out my mother in law’s home after she passed away at the end of May.
