Out and About / Re: Calculating spending money
« on: March 27, 2014, 07:26:36 PM »
For 1 adult and one child (age 11)

I usually budget around 80 euros per day which is just enough to have a meal out every evening (although my daughter doesn't eat a three course meal like me!), a light (cheap) lunch, drinks (cocktails/mythos/apple juice) throughout the day and a few gifts for people at home...and me!

Although I only take 80 Euros, I find I'm always wishing I had more like 100 euros to be more comfortable and at ease with what I'm spending!  Of course I could just drink less cocktails...HA!!!

Information and help please / Re: Too hot in August?
« on: September 26, 2013, 04:45:19 PM »
I've taken my daughter in August since she was 6, we've always been fine as long as there's available shade somewhere for her.  We quite like the heat though so I guess it's personal preference.  It gets up to around 40c on a really hot day I think.

There's a stop outside Barras Apartments and it costs about 1.60e I think. It stops others places in the village too but not sure where.

Thanks guys - I bought a couple from Argos that fit the Easyjet requirements! 42 x 34 x 16 I think - £12 each :)

While on the subject, will I be allowed to have my normal handbag as well as my little suitcase? Or do I need to put my wallet etc in my case so I'm just carrying one thing? Not taking hold luggage for our mini break in October.

Thanks guys, that's really helpful.  I think I'm gonna have to bite the bullet and just book them!  Just waiting for a quote from the hotel in sidari then will go ahead I think.  Exciting!!  Two trips to Greece in one year!  Best not get too excited till it's booked though...

Hi,

Does anyone know how much the Easyjet flights to Corfu in October will go up and down from now?  Will it get cheaper or more expensive as it gets closer?!  I haven't booked Easyjet for years!

Just been sent a great special offer for a hotel we've stayed in before in Sidari and thought a few cheap nights over half term would be nice!  Including a sneaky taxi ride to San Stef while we're there, obviously!  I know it'll be dead quiet but it'll still be the lovely San Stef! :)

Where to stay / Re: Romanza Hotel

Georgie, quite the opposite.  It was something I had to get off my chest and an issue that needed raising, warning future guests about the possibility of not being able to have a relaxing holiday by the pool had to be said.  I may have just been unlucky, being that time of the year or whatever.  For the record, I thought Yiannis contributed some good stuff on this board.  The wife and I also spoke to Yiannis on holiday and expressed our feelings regarding the sunbeds.  It was all quite amicable actually.  This is certainly not a witch hunt.

Don't get me wrong, Rod, I wasn't saying your post was unnecessary, was just a shame the conversation had to turn sour that was all.

I've found a lot of your posts very helpful Yiannis, it's a real shame you've felt a bit pushed out.  It's such a lovely forum after all...heated discussions about sunbed saving seems so unnecessary!

I bet poor Rod wishes he never mentioned it!!

How strange, it was adults only when I've looked in the past too.  I remember 'cause it always bugged me that they had a slide and no children were allowed!
