Rather than making the pool shallower, why not just give everyone a pair of water wings?  ;D And on a more serious note, you can drown in a few inches of water so where does it end?

OMG-I have just realised we have booked a "Suite" at Athena, which appears to be in the posh bit at the side-has anyone stayed in that part? I just booked something that guaranteed a sea view (Lesley spoiled us at the Vicky, with wonderful sea views!  ;D) and didn't realise that we appear to be in the posh bit!

Jet 2 website says "Fridge" in all rooms but to be on the safe side we booked the suite which also has kettle and coffee making facilities... and a balcony (hopefully) that faces the sea-may as well go the whole hog!!  ;D Any opinions of the Athina will be gratefully received though!

Looking to book for next year-our first trip since the Vicky was snatched from us! >:(  Steve has stayed at Thomas Bay before and wasn't keen, so we are looking at the Athina. Do the rooms have fridges? We were totally spoilt at Vicky (quite apart from the TLC from Lesley ;D ) in that we had fridge, cooker and all kitchen facilities. I have to say NOT having a fridge would be a game changer for me!

OMG, that takes me back. When i was a kid we used to go to Pontins at Brixham and would usually visit Blackpool sands at least once in the holiday-the first place I ever paddles up to my (non existent at the time) chest! ;D

Courgette fries and the potato cakes when they are on the set menu-I could quite happily just eat those! We have been known to go based solely on the fact that the potato cakes are on the set menu...

I thought Lesley had said Bulgarian owner but aimed at the Russians-or did I imagine that?  Hopefully it all goes boobies up for the new owner, serve him right for getting rid of Lesley! And not welcoming us lovely Brits! I wonder if he got rid of George and his family in the pool bar too.

Just seen on the BBC that a ferry has caught fire near Corfu and they are rescuing passengers-says off the coast of Erikoussa, so presumably near us (SS, you know what I mean!!)
