Where to stay / Romanza Villas
« on: February 15, 2021, 01:52:14 PM »
Good morning all.

I regularly get updates of properties for sale and dream one day of owning a property in San Stef. Very interested to see one of the Romanza Villas come onto the market last week, details here:

https://www.kentriki.gr/residential/1226/beautiful-house-only-few-meters-beach

These new villas have always looked appealing since they were completed a couple of years ago and the reviews on Trip Advisor are excellent:

We may need to join forces with like-minded folks though to make this one a reality  :) 8)

Information and help please / Corfu Town recommendations
« on: June 02, 2017, 07:22:31 PM »
Afternoon all.

We'll be making our annual pilgrimage in September and have decided to spend a few nights in Corfu Town once again. We did it for the first time a few years ago staying at the Arcadion Hotel right in the centre and next to the Liston. It was a great way to explore the town and immerse yourself into the lifestyle, before chilling out in San Stef for the remainder of the holiday.

As usual we could rely on the normal booking websites (you know the ones), but just wondering if anyone has any hotel recommendations that may not come up on the bigger website search engines, or may be hidden on page 47 of 1.6 million. Would be interested in any hidden gems and ideally quite central.

Thanks in advance, YAMMAS!! 8)

San Stefanos news and views / You've Been Framed!!
« on: May 09, 2015, 10:07:23 PM »
Anyone else see the video clip of Zorbas on You've Been Framed tonight?

We had to pause it to be sure but definitely Zorbas. During one of their dances the one guy fell onto the fire and set his trousers on fire. All nice and calm though.

So, who was it that got their £250?

Where to stay / Corfu Town & Jasmine Apartments
« on: June 02, 2014, 02:12:26 PM »
Good morning all.

Well, we've gone and booked up again and this year we're going to try the Jasmine Apartments next door to the Perros. But, we're going to stay in Corfu Town for 3 nights before heading over to San Stefanos and we're just looking at hotel options in Corfu Town.

Does anyone have any good hotel recommendations in the town, I'd be very pleased to get your views, before taking a punt.

Thanks all.

Yammas!!

Where to stay / Perros
« on: September 12, 2013, 11:15:46 AM »
For anyone considering the Perros Hotel for next year, they've now released a few rooms with Cosmos for 2014, so you can now book a package for the first time in many years. The pricing at the moment is coming out more expensive than booking a DIY package, but worth keeping an eye on it.

Information and help please / Taxi for San Stef
« on: July 19, 2013, 04:40:27 PM »
Good afternoon all.

My good lady and I are returning to San Stef overnight between Friday 6th & Saturday 7th September and as we've booked direct we're looking for any other like minded holiday makers that might like to share a taxi to San Stef.

From looking at the link above it looks like Cerys at San Stef Travel is the best option and I'll definitely send them an email, but is anyone else due into Corfu Airport around 1am that might want to share the costs?

Thanks all.

Information and help please / Birmingham Airport delays
« on: September 21, 2012, 05:57:20 PM »
Apparently there has been an incident at Birmingham airport this afternoon and all flights are currently suspended.

We're just sat at the Perros waiting for our taxi transfer back to Corfu airport and I thought we'd check for any delays. At the moment all flights out/in from Brum are delayed and the flight out to Corfu is one of them. Looks like we could be having a late one today/tonight.

Fortunately no one was injured in the incident back in Birmingham, which has to be the only concern at this stage.

Thank you all for the positive comments, nice to get some positive feedback, so let the saga continue...

The storm that was forecast hit us in style last night. We we're just about to leave the bar at the Perros and the thunder and lightning started. We quickly decided to stay put and it was a good choice. Its been raining pretty much constantly since and we've had a very different day today, mainly staying indoors for a change.

It did give me time to update the blog though, so please just follow the URL above. I hope you enjoy the continued ramblings.

San Stefanos news and views / Ramblings from Corfu - Part 1
« on: September 10, 2012, 06:36:58 PM »
Well its been a few years since I wanted to do this and after reading the Rambling From Rhodes books (and website) by John Manuel I decided I would do the same from Corfu this year. So here is my first attempt at a blog and if the feedback is positive we might get all 14 days added as the holiday progresses. Please take a look at the blog on my website:

http://www.lovecorfu.com/blog2012/index.html#home

The website needs a fair bit of work, but it acts as a good vehicle for the blog. Please also check out John Manuel's work. His books can be found on Amazon, and other reputible sites no doubt.

Thanks for taking the time.

Yammas.

Information and help please / Corfiot Magazine
« on: July 22, 2011, 08:25:02 PM »
Afternoon all and good evening to everyone currently in San Stef, you lucky people!! :)

Does anyone know if the Corfiot Magazine has been published this year? I usually buy an edition or two and enjoy the read whilst on holiday and even buy copies out of season from http://www.thecorfiotmagazine.com/, but it looks like the October 2010 was the last edition.

I've been trying to find any news stories or updates but haven't been able to find out if Hilary and the team are planning any more editions.

Thanks muchly.

Richard (49 days and counting!!)  8)
