Thanks Lesley, we are already booked for next year through Thomas Cook but will certainly look at Easyjet prices for 2016 as we have not been able to get any cheap flights in the past.

We don't know each other Lizzie, I had been reading your last two posts and wished I was back in San Stefanos enjoying the sun at the end of the holiday season.  It's a frosty morning here today.

Hi Lizzie,

Hope you had a great holiday.  Were there many other tourists in the village at the end of the season and were there many places still open?  The weather looked lovely on the webcam.

There has been an addition to the family - Fannis and his wife had a baby son, Nikos, last week.   Celebrations all round.  Also Leo and his wife are expecting another daughter in September.

Hi Diane,

We were in Katelios in June last year and returned to San Stefanos in September.    People we spoke to who were staying at the Magnolia Resort said the rooms and food were fantastic and the hotel is set in lovely surroundings.  Katelios is very quiet with no buses and expensive taxis so you needed to hire a car if you wanted to go anywhere else. Although we enjoyed our holiday in Kefalonia, San Stefanos is still our favourite and we look forward to returning again in June this year.

It was great to see San Stefanos on the TV and the lovely girls from San Stefanos Travel organising the wedding.  Looking forward to the next episode.

A.P.I. was not required when we flew to Corfu with Thomas Cook in September.

Out and About / Re: Arillas Wine Festival

Thank you Cerys for the transport arrangements for the Wine Festival.    We walked over the clifftop with Keith and Sue as the sun was setting and had a great time at the Festival.  We really appreciated the mini bus ride home after enjoying all the wine and Corfu beer and don't think we would have managed to find our own way home.  A fantastic night!

I agree with everything you say Jim.  We always bring as many cigarettes as we can fit into our suitcases as there is no way we would pay UK prices.

Thanks for your reply Lizzie.
Is it Ok to walk along the cliff path at night or would it be safer to walk along the road? I don't want to topple over the edge after a few drinks!

Here is a link to the Wine Festival.  According to information on the Arillas forum the Festival is held in the village.  It sounds like a great occasion.

We are looking forward to going to the Wine Festival in Arillas held on the 7th and 8th September.  Does anyone know if there will be taxis available in Arillas during that weekend to get us back to San Stefanos?  We are Ok walking there but not sure about walking back in the dark after a jug or two of wine!

We also flew with Mint Airlines from Newcastle last year and agree it was the worst flight we had ever experienced.  Our local Thomas Cook shop said they had had a lot of complaints about the cramped conditions.   Despite the awful flight we have booked with Thomas Cook again this year as we like to stay at the Kapetanios Apartments.  This week we received a letter from Thomas Cook saying that they have contracted SmartLynx (apparently a Latvian company) to assist them with their flying programme for the 2012 summer season.   I do not know if this is just for Newcastle flights or if it applies to any other airports but hope their aeroplanes are better than the Spanish Mint ones.

Thank you Waspman.  I am pleased things are going well for them both in England and wish them the very best for the future.
We will really miss our nights out at Mythica when we return in September.

Are you able to say what you have heard about the closing of Mythica?  It was one of our favourite places to eat and I am so sorry to hear that it will not be opening this year.
