Is it possible to ask the Nafsika owners to reposition the camera so that we can see the progress around the pool ? With this new regulation about pool depths does it mean that the likes of Thomas Bay and Athina are also having to modify their pools?

It's very sad that Pete, Jackie and Bod's business is another victim of Brexit bureaucracy. They did say that they were staying on the island at least until the quarantining business was finished. It's such a pity that their shop had gone from strength to strength and was becoming known worldwide. I hope they are able to start something that doesn't involve importing stuff from the UK and all its involved paperwork but in the meantime I hope that Pete can still do his quiz nights this season. Looking forward to (hopefully) seeing them in July

Out and About / Donkey sanctuary
« on: August 14, 2016, 07:36:06 PM »
We just had (another) great 2 weeks in Agios Stefanos and, while we were there and had a car for a few days, we took the opportunity to visit the donkey sanctuary which is off the Corfu town> Paleo road a little way past the Cumquat factory. It's a lovely place which is running on a shoestring. Entrance is free but any donations are welcome. They have a website which is WWW.corfu-donkeys.com   . They're not allowed to put up any signposts but look out for the A4 sized sheets at the roadside with their stylised donkey emblem on them. Please don't miss out on this one.

If this is island wide then I shudder to think what Corfu town must smell like! Does anyone know the cause of the problem? Last year there was a strike but that problem was reolved fairly quickly. This seems to be going on a lot longer so surely someone on the island's governing body must be sitting up and noticing the smell.

Hi Jackie
I noticed in your last entry that you took His Bodiness for a walk on a WIDE empty beach. Does this mean that we've got a beach back near the boat hire and the bars?
I've seen the various reports about 2* moving to the Med. Village site but do you have any idea whether the Med. Village is going to be relocating or has it gone completely? Whatever you're doing to bring on the good weather it sounds like you're doing a fine job of it. Keep up the blogs as it keeps us all up to date with what's going on in SS

If the Avliotes by-pass is anything to go by the pole will be repaired sometime in 2019! At least it's too big for Bod to run off with. Did he get to see the snow on Mt.Pandokrator?

You could always bring her down to size by asking her if she'd like YOUR autograph then walk off with her pen !

San Stefanos news and views / Avliotis bypass
« on: July 27, 2014, 03:10:26 PM »
Does anyone know whether the (almost) new Avliotis bypass road has been finished? It's been awaiting the small section that crosses a gulley to be finished for about 4 years. It can(or could probably) be done in a 4x4 and would make the journey to Sidari etc. much easier.

Where to eat out in San Stefanos? / Re: The Sunset
« on: July 27, 2014, 03:04:34 PM »
We're going out in a few weeks and are hoping to have more superb meals at Sunset. I don't know why their trade has dropped off as the standard of the meals remains high. I can remember a few years ago when you had to book to ensure a table. Maybe it's because the Sunset is just past the "end" of the village and people are unsure about going there. Go on and give them a try!
