There is a saying that you should never go back, i guess meaning that the further back in time an experience, the rosier the tint in the specs.
My wife Lynda and i first visited Ag Stef in, i think, 1986. The first year that Thompson Holidays were here. We stayed in the Panorama apartments at the top of the hill. I think for our first week we were the only two tourists here, at least that is how it felt. There was only a handful of places to eat. The Nafsica, Manthos, and the Waves - though in those days the Waves was exclusively seafood and frequented more by the locals. There was also the Margherita bar (now gone) the Sunset Taverna (now gone) and George's Taverna at the t- junction (also now gone). I think that was it. The people were the most friendly and welcoming they could be to two very inexperienced travellers and that memory has stuck with us more than any other. We visited a few more times over the next 10 years or so and watched the place grow. We now live in New Zealand and this is the first time we have been back in over 20 years.
The place has grown, a lot, and changed, a lot, but the people seem as genuinely warm and friendly now as they did over 30 years ago. Some are the same people we knew over 30 years ago. This is something of a nostalgia trip for us and we are here for 3 weeks. Already it has been worth almost 30 hours in the air.
So glad to be back in Ag Stef.
The Golden Beach was open for meals too.

Thanks Dup, we heard about it the next day from Benson I think, but never managed to get back up there again but will deffo try next year!

Barbara - I have a cunning plan......Nate's trunki is filled as handluggage on the way out with wipes, non liquid toiletries (face wipes etc) and also his night time pull ups............so on the way home its empty as everything has been used...........HANDBAG SPACE!!!! :)

The girls in Elisabeths literally rub their hands when they see me coming..... ;D

Give Anemos a try, you will not be disappointed.

Ah, sorry - didn't know it was Top Secret!  :)

We were in the top floor of the villa at the very top of the path, wonderful views and falling asleep to the sound of the surf at night. I think this must have been the best apartment I've ever stayed in, in all my years of visiting Greece.
You now know why it should remain a secret Georgia!!!

Oh dear Rilo and Georgia, you obviously didn't sign the Agios Stefanos 'Official Secrets Act',which forbids anyone from divulging just how wonderful the Peli and Maria accommodations are. Please help to keep them our little secret heaven!!

Out and About / Re: Beach
« on: June 05, 2014, 12:40:43 PM »
According to my informant who arrived two days ago,our old friend Kosta is not yet on the beach,in fact, there are very few sunbeds for rent, just a few in front of Angelo's and a few more in front  of Delfino Blue. The seaweed problem is still apparent, particularly in front of Manthos and overall the position on the beach is less than satisfactory. We go out on Sunday for a little while and hope to have positive news to report next week.

I always put on weight on holiday so I don't need any encouraging ! I will be paying them a visit though !!
Apparently, the Chefs at the Kamini have been trained by the leading local Goodyear Chef,Manthos 'Floyd' Mouzakitis,so no Roccos food there. It will be nice to see you again Ioannie.xx
