We’ll survive without a fridge for 4 nights![]()
Must admit, definitely looking forward to staying in the old part, previously we’ve stayed in Olga several times and also Nondas…….no hill to climb this time.
I know Nafsika was an old favourite of Jimbo, so Mhairi and I will raise a glass of red to the old fella when we get there![]()
We were there in June nafsika amazing place pool area very impressive but the rooms now have no fridges still had the best timeNo fridges is not too good...
Surprised to see Olympia restaurant does not feature on TA![]()
. Had a wee look to see how the village restaurants were faring this year, and lo and behold, it is nowhere to be seen :'(. I'm unsure how to contact TA, and ask if it could be added to the list of many others in the village, I feel it deserves recognition, for the food and service.
That’s us home now after 4 weeks. Weather this year from 13th June was great apart from the last 2 days when there was strong winds and cold to sit on the beach.
Noticed this year even more than normal people keeping sun beds on the beach/pool for other people so they can sit in the same place each day!!! Bizarre
Was definitely a little more expensive this year but then we do eat and drink well.![]()
All the beach bars seemed busy enough during the day so hopefully they will all survive the season and open up again next year. The bars in the village like little Prince, bar38, Atina, Condor and Acubar were not as busy in the evening as usual especially for July. I think more people were eating and drinking in their rooms.
All staff everywhere were lovely as usual.
Our friends are already booked for next year but we are thinking of giving it a miss for a year. Happy holidays to those of you still to go. Xx
Pool area still not complete, the drains at the pool edge still to be installed, but what a transformation, it is really lovely with the new loungers and flowers around.
Got back last Friday (27th) after our 2 week stay at Fedra and our first visit since 2019.
Well there have been lots of changes of which some were good others less so.
Staying at Fedra was once again brilliant. Dimi and Charitini have again raised their game with excellent accommodation, service and a breakfast which is so extensive you don't need anything else to eat until the evening.
The overall quality of food in the places we ate was very good indeed. We ate at Fantasea, Manthos, Mistral, Sandhill, Waves, Cicala, Olympia, Little Prince and Zorba's. Surprisingly we found you had to book a table for most places especially Manthos, Sandhill and Olympia. You had no chance of getting a table by just rocking up as in previous years. The only place we ate at which didn't seem especially busy was Cicala which was difficult to understand as the food was very very good. Prices were very much higher than our last visit and in some cases very much on a par with what we experience here in south Wales.
The weather was gorgeous.....30 degrees each day with a variable breeze.
The beach was a different matter. The area to the left of the stream was covered in seaweed which by the time we left was 3/4 foot high. No clearance in the 2 weeks we were there. On top of that dogs were being allowed onto the beach especially in the evenings where we saw some owners allowing their dog to do their busy at the waters edge. Seeing this was a first for us. Apparently the responsibility for the cleanliness of the beach falls to the mayor. He's clearly failing in that duty. The sunbeds to the right of the stream were packed together as the license is based on the space rather than the number of beds. It looked a bit like Benidorm from a distance.
Even though the beach was relatively quiet the taverna's were very busy from what we saw. Disappointingly the Condor was the only place that had any live music and that was a bit ropey.
All in all it was a lovely holiday. A special trip to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary but I don't see us going back in the immediate future as the amount of money we spent was comparable to our Sky Princess cruise last September and then we didn't have to fly.
Here again, roasting hot, and really busy in the village and beach, never seen so many cars parked there every day. Beer’s roughly £ 5 cocktails £8, food we have had was real good value, tonight heading our favourite, Olympia. Tomorrow, hope to hire a boat, a take a trip around the coast to Paleo.Great the weather is much better Radarman, hopefully not too hot! 28c here in Yorkie, but know where everyone would rather be. Can almost feel the heat and hear the Greek music. Not to say anything about the lovely food and relaxing life - superb!
