San Stefanos news and views / Re: Here now….

Here again, roasting hot, and really busy in the village and beach, never seen so many cars parked there every day. Beer’s roughly £ 5 cocktails £8, food we have had was real good value, tonight heading our favourite, Olympia. Tomorrow, hope to hire a boat, a take a trip around the coast to Paleo.
Different weather and vibe to the village from your May visit then Radarman? Have a great time.
Love a boat trip down the coast to Paleo, though a couple of years ago was nearly back, made it in to the bay and ran out of fuel so Thomas had to bring a tank on his jet ski!

Where to eat out in San Stefanos? / Re: Snack bar.
« on: June 03, 2025, 01:56:07 PM »
New to us is a snack bar between LP and Peli and Maria’s, serving burgers, coffee etc, looked very nice indeed.
If that’s the one next to the builders offices then it wasn’t open last year so good to see someone taken it over. Maybe for the two or three years prior it was called crepepetite doing coffees, crepes, ice cream etc.

Has anyone tried Sandhills, the replacement for the Beachcomber?
We had lunch and then dinner twice at Sandhills last year having only had cocktails there the previous year. Excellent quality and service can highly recommend it.

It seems someone else has taken it over, Athens had started doing more food last year alongwith the bar and live bands. Ashamed to say, despite walking past most days when we used to stay at Romanza, that we’ve never been in! Not been in Condor either, keep saying every year we must and never get around to it.

One of those days when there is more sun in UK, (well there is in the E Mids) than in Ag Stef. Very grey day on the beach cam!

Any news on nafsika as guests should be checking in tomorrow or is there more cancellations
Not seen any further mention of it on the Facebook groups and camera still not working.

Someone on a Facebook group posted that they were supposed to be arriving at Nafsika today (Monday) but TUI cancelled it last Wednesday. Work at hotel not finished yet perhaps? It didn’t look promising when the camera was on.

It’s available to book on TUI from 9th May, so yes they need to get their skates on

Visiting in June for the first time since 2019 and we're expecting things to have changed and to be more expensive. I'm aware that the Little Prince has changed hands and there's a new place opposite Olympia but that's about the limit of my knowledge. What am I missing? Any pointers much appreciated.
A few changes since 2019 Tredegar Boy, as you suspect prices have increased quite a bit since then, with rises particularly in 2022 and 2023. However it’s still much better value than a lot of other resorts in Europe.

Cicala is the new restaurant opposite Olympia.

Beachcomber is now Sandhills (ran by the hideaway bar team so hideaway is no longer)

New restaurant last year next to Silver Star (old 2 stars) called Spetseriko

New coffee and desert place Sweet Spot opened last year in a new building behind Barras.

There are probably some other changes I’ve forgotten, but a lot of familiar faces at the same tavernas too.

Little Prince apartments still being ran by the family, but they posted on Facebook that the taverna, cocktail bar and pool bar is being rented out. Aris and Maria and Co  from Barolo are taking over the running of those.
