Title: August Bank Holiday
Post by: don on August 20, 2009, 09:35:33 PM
Not long now until the last bank holiday of the year. What is everybody doing? We are undecided whether to go to the Lake District with Sandra's mum as she has a static caravan there. The other option is a long weekend in Lincolnshire. Unfortunately only 20% of my section can be on leave at one time. As eight are "term time only " out of 22 that is School Holidays a non-starter. With only bank holiday Monday off we are pretty hamstrung.
How do you spend "Long Weekends?"

Of course there is the small matter of Sunderland at home on the 29th!!

Not doing much, Don, as saving pennie for hols !!!

Am going to my mates village on the Saturday, there is a raft race and things going on down in the village, and her local pub has a barbie and live music etc through the afternoon and into the evening, so prob sample a few beers knowing we have 2 days still off work !!!!!

Then, weather permitting, will prob be in garden with a good book for the rest of the weekend.

Bank Holiday Weekend we're going down to Leek in Staffs to visit friends we met in Skiathos over 10 years ago, we take turns to visit one another 3 or 4 times a year, and it's our turn to go down there, so I'm looking forward to that! :)

You're not a makkem supporter are you Don?  ???

Well this time we will probably have a lovely walk in the village of SS and also on the lovely sandy beach. Then have a swim in a lovely pool and of course admire the views. In the evening a lovely meal and drinks in the bar and have a chat or 2 with anyone who will listen lol!!!!!!!!.

Well I was hoping to receive an invite for:-
Golf, Gardening, Guitar, Drinking and possibly Nude Mud Wrestling with playboy bunnies!!
Unfortunately, no invite, firstly - - & although I have the bulk of the day to myself,
I actually have to go to work on the first of my 7 Night shifts.
At least I have Thus/Fri/Sat/Sun off before the B/Hol Monday - work my week of nights - and a week off afterwards!!
So - B/Hol Monday - the Drinking is definitely out - (we get random tests for alcohol and drugs), I never take drugs except what the GP thinks I need to stay semi-healthy, may do a touch of gardening, can't play guitar,
and unless the nude mud wrestling has the green light - looks like a quiet day for me!!

Come to think of it, maybe we could arrange a village nude mud wrestling contest in S S!!
I am sure that Bev & co. would be up for that!! LOL

theres a village charity day at Coity Castle but, the roads round here get choca at BH with the visiting wobblies that it aint worth the hassle..even for nude mud wrestling, so I'll just enjoy not being in my cage

Kemo - not sure they encourage "Caravan Dwellers" in San Stefanos,
- - - - - - - - - except the Kantina on the beach!! LOL
So how do you manage from there then?, park the car by the Caravan and a Taxi to the Airport maybe?
It cost me about £100 to Park for 2 weeks in the Gatwick Long-Term car Park!
Title: Re: August Bank Holiday
Post by: kemo on August 22, 2009, 07:38:50 PM
Hi Tonyco1 if push came to shove the Kantina would have to do or one of Spiros sunbeds. We will travel from home in Keighley to Leeds/Bradford airport and leave the car in a secure private car park 2 minutes away from airport. The cost is £58 for the fortnight inc.minibus transfer.

Post by: don on August 22, 2009, 08:15:02 PM
First few words gave me visions of you "Pushing and Shoving" the car to the airport. Isn't it hilly round there?
Title: Re: August Bank Holiday
Post by: kemo on August 22, 2009, 09:56:24 PM
Your right Don it is hilly round here and if it came to pushing and shoving the car, I don't think I would make the airport never mind San Stef

Well - I did try to go as well - logistically impossible at this time for us!
Don is there with Sandra to surprise Suela and Jules - old holiday and forum friends!!
The surprise did work and there is one yellow shirt walking around!!

For Zimmer: It is a Brazil Shirt he wears - not Norwich!! He supports Stoke!
The Yellow shirt will be the "Forum Shirt" or the Brazil world cup Shirt - his trademark!!

Bubbles - what the H***  - - - is one of the CB ??

Zoe, I hope you were not Riding a Donkey!! LOL

As for suggesting someone live there - I think living there - -  is totally different to a holiday!
Suits some who love it and the quiet winters , like Bev and Ray for example,
- not others who need a busier place to live - and S S to chill out in whenever the mood takes!!
I love the place and could live there all summer - not sure about the winter though!!
If I had unlimited money - I may cruise the Caribbean in the winter!! come on Lotto!!

sigh - it must be nice to go every few weeks though, "when the mood takes you"I think I could spend an extended winter stay in Cyprus as I cant stand our winters, ah well que sera uh?...the way the weather is anywhere would be better than here at the moment

Tcool, it was for a good reason that I was anxious about not being able to use  the sc facility here but now I am cool and happy with the human versions, you being the one. My only concern is you not being able to tell the difference between can't spell ??? and mistakes when us busy ladies are multi-tasking!!!! ;D,lol
