Hi all as a first timer to SS is there any bar/ taverner ect to avoid? Please constructive reasons why.

missh -After 10 years of visiting San Stef we can say in all honesty that in the 19 times we have visited the resort we have had just one bad meal. We don't think it fair to name this place as it is one of the most popular in the resort. It was probably our fault for choosing the wrong options.
There are some cracking places to eat varying from just good to marvellous but when it comes down to it, it is down to personal taste.

I can confirm that too - we have eaten everywhere (apart from any new places this year), all of a good standard.
The Bars differ according to taste - no bars full of drunken yobs in this resort (you may have to excuse Don though!!!)
You are going to a zero crime relaxed and feel-good resort - you will love it unless you wanted club 18-30!!

Definitley agree with all of the above. You couldn't have picked a nicer resort - as you can tell most of us are returnees year in year out. :)

have to agree with all the above never had a bad meal everyone so helpfull and place makes you like you do not want to leave

Ditto to all of the above! Only ever had one mediorce/bad meal in ten years and eat out every night at somewhere different. You will soon find your own favourites but the problem will be where to eat/return to. You will invariably miss somewhere out.

but everything is great in Agios (San) Stefanos - as testified by the lovely people above!!

Another thing as well is you don't get lager louts so everywhere is safe.

Totally agree - we had enough of that. Everyone does have there own preferences and anyone visiting for the first time will soon be able to make there own minds up.

Of course having said about peoples own preferences it is still great to read about others visits to the various tavernas with pros and cons so we all have a good idea what service etc we may expect to get. :)

We live considerably North of Watford Gap !!! "A" Level Geography albeit 40+ years ago bears fruit again!

I see the normal windups are still here- our 5th visit ( I think) but my 12th visit and we can vouch for all establishments - always gone somewhere diff every night and had fantastic food and atmosphere.

Pauline - the great thing about the return visitors to SS - is that this resort is unique - very rare for any resort to get such a high No. of return visitors - the Locals think it's normal - it's not as we all know!! I read in the local paper that the figue was 86%!! Brilliant!
Plus - the returnee's are all similar types of people, Nice, and full of fun without being a yob!! (Don, Jules and Sue excepted!!) LOL!!

I have always fully supported the "Free Don's Yellow shirt campaign", but take a close look at mine!
It is a Se'nor Frogs Shirt, from the Bahama's, and not a flaming Footie shirt (Bra-zil) -
SO on reflection - it will be Ban the Yellow Footie shirts from now on!!

Basically I would say and most people would agree is that there is nowhere to avoidin SS as everyone will make there own minds up about a place or taverna. Hopefully we will see lots of new reviews on here which will have a differnt perspective to our own. Wherever you may go will be enjoyable one way or another. We always say its what you make of it yourself. Some people arrive with negative thoughts and that then would stay with you all holiday and ultimatley spoil what should be a great holiday. :) 8)

The taverna at sunset beach is lovely as well as long as its not to windy - Sue and John can vouch for that.

OMG Tony! I think I'll be mentally scarred for life with that picture in my mind. The one saving grace (if that is possible) is that you said stool. After Mythos and curry I think we could be looking at something less solid.
