Hi,
Just booked for my first holiday to Corfu and we are staying at the Kapitanios. From what I am reading in this forum the apartments seem to have been refurbished lately.
Does anyone who has stayed there recently have any pictures that they could post for me to see

Have a look at this. Small slide show and short video.

Nice link!!
I believe that Tassos who runs the Taxi's is the owner there, always heard good reports.

Thanks for the replys,
Ive seen the video and pics on the thomas cook site as it was them that we booked through but I think the video and pics may have been taken before the refurbishment that ive heard of so I was wondering if anyone had been recently and took some pics.
read loads of good reports before booking so I think weve made a good choice

A ggod choice was made the minute you decided on San Stefanos. Most places here are really well looked after and offer a relaxing time. :)

Definately a good choice this resort - Kapitanios apt's are nice - but you need fit strong legs for the walk up the hill.
I am ok walking down these days but I usually call for a stretcher bearing party to carry me back up!!!

Just how bad is this hill? are we talking Kilimanjaro here? I'm not unfit, a little overwweight perhaps, but we have a 4 year old to cart up and down it for 14 days/nights, ahhh what the heck! it'll be easy walking down it, and i won't remember walking back up it after consuming several Mythos's on the nights we go out into town ;) ie: every night ;D

Well expect your legs to feel it at the start - after 2 weeks you will be used to it, just a short steep bit, and I can make it,
but not every day - see Tassos, he runs the Taxi's - you can always do a deal!!

The rumour is you get a piggy-back each night!! or - - - - have very strong legs!!

The first couple of days when you are aclimatising can seem the worst for the hill climb but after that it is just another part of your holiday in SS :)

Do you realise that they do have donkeys to take people up the cliff in Santorini, now I know that the San Stef,
hills don't compare to that, but how about a "Noddy-Train" shuttle up the hills in the morning and evenings,
it could be run by Don in retirement, (if only it had a turning circle somewhere)!! LOL
-
My wife and eldest son went that very cliff on Donkeys several years ago! I declined, because I thought it was cruel, so I walked up, I'll maybe think twice about a Donkey ride next time, as the walk almost killed me! lol it was 100+ degrees after all 8)

Or maybe we could import the "Cliff-Lift" from Bournemouth Seafront!!

They also have donkeys to take you up to the acropolis in Lindos Rhodes but I would never take one as I think it is cruel to be working them in the heat you get there. On our visit it was nearly 115 degrees. We did walk it up though stopping every now and again to look at the lace goods being sold by the old women. :)

It would definitely be cruel if I got on one!!!! LOL
Still -- donkeys from the beach up the steep beach path to Kapitanios is more appealing than walking up!!
Cruel or not - hey! what's the pecking order in this world?
(OK - yes I know!).

Do you mean Mr. Key? Donald Key? I am not sure if Don's surname is Key or Kebbles (Key-boules), you must know?
anyway - they do use Donkeys in Corfu - long time back -
I saw a couple of the old ladies leading heavily laden Donkeys along the road! (Looking strangely like you two - just older).
