On friday I gave my leave request in. Asked for 2 weeks from 26 june and the whole of august.  Tactically I may now be ensured of one of them. The big shots daren't refuse both as that would go against human rights act and their much trumpeted "work life balance." Know the system, play the system and all else considered have barristers and QC's as family!!!

Tsaros in May 09 been booked since June, and 'over the hill' in September too. Lets hope we have some planes to fly in come then!! I fly from Norwich and our airport has had several companies pull out lately, but thankfully the Corfu flights are usually full.

When are you staying at the Olga - we fly out from Bristol on 3 July.  Usually stay at Teresa but were too late booking (should have been to Rhodes with XL!!!!!!!!!!!!) but I am glad to be going back to SS - we love the relaxed atmosphere.

Hi to all staying at olga's, not sure what we are doing next year, a lot of expense between now and then but priced olgas for June next year and was quoted a two bedroomed apartment for just the two of us.
I didn't realise me and the missus weren't getting on!! :o

Have just booked Easy Jet to Corfu for 25th September. Now where to stay? Oh!........ San Stefanos for a change.... Now that sounds a good idea... But which property? ... Got to be somewhere new. Much as we have the places we love, those that we find hold fond memories and those that are merely above average we do like to try somewhere new.  ;D

As you can tell from on here most of us go back year after year and some 2 or 3 times a year not to mention any names. We even have some good humoured banter as we have got to know each other. Thomas Bay is in the middle of the village on the flat and is easy to get to the beach and all of the village itself. Never stayed at Thomas Bay as we prefer self catering in an apartment but plenty of others have stayed at Thomas Bay who no doubt will post about the hotel for you.
The village itself is wonderful no lager louts and does cater for families and couples. The village people are lovely and greet you as friends and are also very helpful. :)

Thanks & we'll let y'all know how we get on.

You will enjoy the Thomas Bay - We stayed there last year and quite a few times before - I prefer it to the Athina as it's comfortable, very friendly, they got a new chef last year who was brilliant - food great and they can be flexible on the set menu - just ask!!
Lovely v/friendly hotel.

That's a brilliant price, but I suspect it's tied in with a dearer Thomas Cook Flight.
I did easy jet flights and my Theodosia apartment cost 220 Euro's per week, for July which I thought was good until this!!
I can't see T Cook allowing just the apartment rental on it's own - but who knows - maybe I'm just a cynic!!

I was sent this -

Don,

Thomas Cook have some great offers on accommodation only:

http://www.thomascook.com/hotels

You can get the Kapetanios Studios for £59 per week but we have booked the Mythos Apartments for £133 for a week (you get a split level apartment with lounge), these prices are of course for the apartment NOT per person.

Thanks to Easyjet we have got 2 days at the Corfu Holiday Palace Hotel £117, 5 nights at the Lefkas Villas Paxos(Agni Travel) £310 and 7 nights at the Mythos Apartments San Steph £133.

So thats a 3 centre holiday for just £755 including flights!

Thankyou Easy Jet!

Andy

We have stayed at the Barras - it's as you say - large apartments - clean - not as new as L/Prince - but we like them and would stay again.
Taverna is cosy - good food and friendly - you will enjoy it.

I am sure someone will know - we stayed in the Vicky the first year they were open - an owl moved into the rafters as well.
I can't remember who we booked with - but if I remember correctly (someone will correct me if I am wrong), I seem to recall that Stefanos of the condor - When he was at Pandora's Music Bar - told me he owned the Vicky apt's, but they were run by someone else.
Maybe he can put you in touch with whoever rents them out??

We are staying in the Theodora Apartments.
They are between the Paper shop (Maria & Pelie) and the Olympia Resturant (Stellios & Pipa),
about 30 metres up a slight incline, and terracotta coloured - ground plus 2 story.
Booked via Noula in S S Travel. We checked them last year and they looked superb inside,
we have booked sea view rooms. We arrive at lunchtime on Friday 3/07/09.
I'll message you my mobile No. so you can text us there.

Got a good feeling about this summer. We already know quite a few people who will be there. The best thing about holidays is new experiences, even if we stay in the same resort we have to stay somewhere new. We started off stopping in Thomas Bay for years and loved it. One year we took a last minute (booked at E.Mids airport and fly in 4 hours) break when Thomson had the Vicky. It was great! After all it is only a bed, shower and dressing room! We get the freedom to eat and drink wherever and whenever we want. Roll on June & July.... Not forgetting August and September.

We share the same philosophy on that one -even if we stay at the Thomas Bay - we still go out to eat else where as well!!
Linda regards it as part of our holiday to eat in different restaurants, it keeps the holiday fresh -
we have stayed all over the resort, often more than once in various apartments and hotels, lost count now!!
Also likewise - we just can't wait to get to San Stefanos again.
We have someone coming to give us a quote on a new Bathroom tomorrow, so looks like I'll be using a holiday leave to manage that!!

We have someone coming to give us a quote on a new Bathroom tomorrow, so looks like I'll be using a holiday leave to manage that!!

do you get the same feelings of guilt that we do? We get home and one of us will say, "god we forgot to eat there!"
We are the same Don.

Yes - us too!! it's almost an obligation to eat at a friends place, even though we pay, it feels wrong not to go at least once!!

Yeah, there's a guy called Don going on the 26th June and is also staying at the Barras. That would be some coincidence if you're going back on the 25th September to Little Prince! Don's out then as well!

I installed a wireless Modem router, (Recommended - about £50 or less),
I leave my Main PC cabled into it as the 10/100 connection is quicker,
then I have my sons laptop (work one), Linda's Laptop, my Laptop and also the netbook now all running at once and it handles the lot easily, (encrypted of course). Then you either use the built-in wireless connection, or buy one (usb),
now you have a home network, just use the dongle when out and about!!
Simple to set up and use!

Now for the killer question............................. It looks as though Sandra will be going on a 4 day week but with adjustments..... Basically working full time & then have a week off............ These weeks off fall from 10th July and 30 August................... Which should I try to get off? Do I make it a 3 week break  where I have 2 for the moment? Or do I go for the late option and see some very very old friends?  Then again would 3 trips in one year seem pushing it with the credit crunch?

Just do whatever suits you best Don. Go if you can for the extra week. Remember the old saying "shrouds don't have pockets" 8)

Jules - I've never heard that saying before me duck. Is it a local one or have I been living under a stone or stoned or something?

Jules - I've never heard that saying before me duck. Is it a local one or have I been living under a stone or stoned or something?

Well use phrase here in NW Midlands!
Just know it as a well known phrase - although heard it more since I moved to the North West.

12 month ago I spent a Saturday going from Opticians to barbers to A&E to end up with wrist in plaster for 2 months............ Spooky moment.... Yesterday was Saturday..... I went to the Opticians.... I went to the Barbers............. One wrist is twice the size of the other. I can neither fasten my cuff nor put on a watch.............. Different wrist but not broken........... Really battered it on a door frame while doing my Physio exercises!

I went to the Opticians.... I went to the Barbers............. One wrist is twice the size of the other. I can neither fasten my cuff nor put on a watch.............. Different wrist but not broken........... Really battered it on a door frame while doing my Physio exercises!
Ouch!!!!!
NOT YOU AS WELL???????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????
Don - I now realise that you are into self harming, and suffer from Lesch-Nyhan syndrome!!
You've got to stop that now you naughty boy, or you won't be able to lift a pint!! LOL

Really getting to be ambidextrous........... I can bugger both hands!!!!!!!!!!!
You could always revert to using a straw lol!!!!! - no lifting required lol!!!
Don will be the one on the side of the Thomas Bay Pool, in a medical type bed - in traction!!!
Only his face will get any sun- - -LOL
Sounds like he's going to end up very red faced lol!!!
I just hope he takes it easy - he can't afford any more injuries - or we'll be taking him to the beach on a stretcher!!
Sounds to me your[ color=red]TYPO[/color] the one in need of a stretcher reading another posting you've made today lol!!

Not even sure whether it's in her top ten LOL
At least I don't speak Double Dutch like you pair lol!!!!
No you don't my dear! (have to humour her- - Crazy Woman - - LOL)!!
Double Dutch?                 She speaks better Double Hernia         Probably too much Double Diamond?
